  • The roadking RK56 is 100% better than the old astatic 575 M6 m0ogy. The astatic had its day and it was a great sounding microphone but times change,

  • Come to my channel to actually hear what the mic sounds like for real.

  • @SNAKERADIOS Do you not call the sound on FM "Real" then??.......the video is not fake in any way Tim, I review items for a hobbyists worlwide, but will not risk my Ham licence TXing on ilegal modes (in the UK) and then post this on Youtube.

I may do an A M and SSB tests on 10 Meters with the CR577 soon though.

  • All i meant was by the real comment is that i have an actual wav file of the audio of the mic coming right out of my mic tester directly into the computer so you can really hear it without being colored by the radio electronics. It is how the mic sounds. Never said anything about being fake.

  • @SNAKERADIOS Thanks for the explaination.......I see what you mean now........but I guess maybe what it sounds like on the air helps too........73 Dave

  • Cool deal and 73 from az.

  • any SSB reports? anything sounds ok on FM.

  • @weazlechin I'll try it on 10 Meters SSB soon

  • how come you didnt do a comparison of the audio between the two ??

  • @twozero9 No reason realy......just didn't have time then, nothing to hide this way........Dave

  • Personally I think this mic sounds just as bad as 98% of all CB mics. I don't like the boxy shape nor the upside down button just so that they can put the switch lower in the case. I do like having a tone control on power mics and I like a wire screen if it doesn't dent easily. This mic sounds poorly made cause it creaks and makes case noises when you ppt or squeeze the mic. They should use the same kind of mic used in camcorders or put them directly on the front of the radio like camcorders.

  • @TF856 Thanks for your Input and Comments. I agree that the casing design could be better ,I'm not that impressed. But to say the audio quality is bad is not true.OK its not Broadcast Studio quality ,but this is designed for two way radio comms.I like good audio (I use many products by Heil Sound), so I feel I know better than some who use Echo Mics over Modulating.I still maintain Pound for Pound (Dollar for Dollar ??) that this Microphone will be a good buy for CB Radio and Amateur operators.

  • This is a good video, Dave, a very thorough review, really quite something to be the first in the country to use this Mic. These company's are specifically sending you their equipment to test & review now ???

  • @drewerz01 Hello Mike, yes this Microphone is not even launched in its home country (The USA) yet. Yes I am going to be sent pre production products to review in the UK in the future. I hope to be able to help the Radio Hobbyist in general Mate.

  • Hey that a good test many thanks ! 73's Free DXers

  • @Freedxers Thankyou for your kind comments

  • Nice one Dave, great information on this microphone.

    Regards Dave (26-TM-446)

  • @coyoteuk Thanks Dave.....glad you enjoyed it Mate......Dave.

  • Dave you lucky devil!!! I have been tracking this microphone through the internet. Very nice review and a week ago I put in my purchase request for one. More audio tests would be good for a future video. Wow you even have an Astatic 575 and super condition. Have a super good day, Reno "Bulldog" Unit 777 central Maine USA.

  • @BLUZUMR Thanks Reno my Friend, I was told the other day the ship with the CR577s has docked in the States, so not too long a wait for you. I will do a few other tests soon. I think its a top mic, just a shame its not a bit less square in design ,as it looks like many other lesser units.....keep an eye open for more reviews Mate.......73's Dave

  • @m0ogy RF Limited is doing well with their products. I kind of wished they could of did a total fresh design. Putting that aside a microphone with a quality tone control and wide frequency ceramic type microphone will be welcomed in the market for sure.

  • @BLUZUMR Yes I agree a better design would stand out better. Indeed RF Limited seem to make decent products indeed....again I thank them for sending this sample Microphone to the UK. I think it will sell well on the market place Reno.

  • good review Dave - a good mic by the sound of it!

  • @UKCBTV It seems a decent piece of kit for sure Gary

  • Good review dave!!! Sure does look the part and will have a look at it in the flesh at some point mate.

    Paul M6PDM 26TM901

  • @moff000 Cheers Paul......it realy does work well..........get one bought!!.....(when available that is!!)......Dave

  • @M6MOF OK Caine.....I will take you up on that in the near future Mate. The cable is very good quality and very generous in length and wired Uniden four pin standard..Dave

  • hi dave, great video as always nice to see something about mics, take care, best regards from william 73s

  • @newtownards1 Thanks for your constant support William my friend.....Dave

  • Checked up and the mike is available here, was called a densei and now also Maas are selling them. Between 20-39 euros depending where you buy them, ceramic, echo all the same things in the same looking box but where it says RF Limited there is either a Maas or Densei Sticker.. Interesting find indeed, and Avera my buddies for the new Pressies :)

  • @simonthewizard Thanks for the comment Simon, Unsure if same insides as the mentioned Mics. The case has two holes for adjustments that are unused with the board in this.I have been told by RF Limited that the first batch have landed in the USA this weekend and will be shipped to their dealers within the next week or so. The Stateside CB Forums have been talking about this model for the last 3 months. Ok on Avera been you buddies........decent guys indeed.......Dave

  • Good work Dave. How about another video doing an on the air comparison between the 577 and the 575. and some internal views of both mics side by side

  • @n2yqq I may do one in the Near Future......getting ready for "Mills on The Air" this weekend at the moment.....Thanks Carmen....73's Dave
