  • confederate style

  • @Syzygy60 man he must be roastin, but what a genius !

  • this guy is same age as me and I see where he gets his style I love it

  • who cares who played it first or anything?? setzer just covers this song and idk about you guys but it sounds really fucken great,

  • and he stole the jazz music from king oiiver etc

  • all music came from the blacks, rock, jazz, etc.

  • classical and opera???

  • Does it matter? I hope that one day people will realise, that all we are one big family living on Earth.

  • @steve89z and blues too

  • Johnny Cash didn't have the original on this. The original was by Little Junior and The Blue Flames, a blues tune. This is the Elvis version. Both versions are probably somewhere on youtube.

  • wtf are you talking about?? your the one who sounds bland,

  • If you think this has no feeling you should listen to the original song down by Johnny Cash. This song was meant to have no feelings.

  • thanks.....great!

  • who gives a shit wat kind of guitar or amp it is, hes the fucken KING OF ROCKABILLY!!!!!!!!!!

  • Strat?...Not so much. Tele..O'Yeah! But

A Gretsch hollowbody is made for this stuff!!! I LOVE my Gretsch!!! Setzer ROCKS Hard!!!!!!!!!!

  • Freakin great song. My favourite band of all time.

  • keepin rock'a'billy alive!!

  • this is completelyt awesome. Anyway, any idea if there's a way to get this sound or similar out of my strrato? I'm really getting hatefull to my guitar, and this is not a good thing.

  • get a vox ac120 amp or a fender twin reverb and dont use any pedals

  • ...Nope...a "strat" will not really get you there bro.

Strats are way too bright and twins/vox 120s are too clean.

You need a semi-hollow body (gretsch or even gibson) and a low powered tube amp (40 watts) like a fender bassman, or a super reverb. The "growl" is the natural sound of the amp's tubes being pushed...

If you really want his sound, you need to add a delay pedal...

semi-hollow body - delay pedal (slapback) - 40 watt tube amp (cranked...)

The rest all comes from the hands

  • A new guitar is not necessary imo. A good rockabilly sound is possible with a strat too. Not exactly like this but similiar

First you need a good FENDER (!) tube amp. If you have the money I recommend a Fender Bassman. if not I can recommend: Fender Blues Junior, Fender Vibro Champ and Fender Superchamp. You can add then a "SansAmp GT-2" to your arrangement which can really copy the Bassman-Sound very good imo.

Then you'll need a Delay. Imo any delay is okay for rockabilly. But you'll need one..

  • sk3z- along with the sound of guitar, playin Rockabilly the right way has a lot to do with the feel for the music. Check out Danny Gatton, who played a solid body, and he was probably the best Rockabilly guitarists.

  • you get a great sound from a hollowbody to, danny gatton is pretty dope but he has a different style, there's not right or wrong way to play rockabilly

  • That's a finger-pickin' son-of-a-gun! Killer sound!

  • brians voice was at it's peak back in those days.perfect!!

  • yeah, and so was his hair lol

  • train I ride

  • who cares whom wrote it, its a great song, and stray cats do it well, so does elvis

  • choo choo hot fish album has this song and is a better version by the stray cats

  • song was originally made my little junior parker who recorded at sun records, then in early 55 or late 54.. Elvis, Scotty and Bill did it... and it was even a take that Elvis thought he was doing terrible, but Sam Phillips loved it and made it the master, you can even hear elvis laugh at the end

  • that was Elvis? i thought it was Bill

  • How does Brians hair defy gravity like that! Great Rockabilly stage costumes to.V

  • Because he's half Rock-Star and half Blonde Rooster

  • Funny, I'm learning this song at the moment..

  • that's a original song made by Elvis Presley in 1956

  • Ya don't need to tell me that, sir.

  • just because elvis performed it doesn't mean it was an elvis original. sam phillips wrote it. i'd say its a sam phillips original

  • Junior Parker writer..Sam Philips publisher.

  • Nice. wow wow we wow
