  • part 2 quickly lol. very nice job

  • @IIEXTINCTII There's a whole series coming very soon ;)

  • Comment removed

  • I have tried to get into EvE three times. THREE bloody times over the course of 4 years. It just goes to show you what a steep learning curve it has. It also goes to show youits great appeal. It's the only MMO I've ever come back to.

  • You get a sense of how large the ships are when a 150mm autocannon is considered "light".

  • This game is horribly costly! But it is definitely worth it. This is one of the best tutorials I've seen for it.

  • 1 hour and all i got to see was you getting pwned by NPCs. :)

hahhaha. ok just kidding, nice tutorial, game looks cool.

  • @TheHorsenation y u so mean :P

  • thanks for the vid, but You're waay too quiet and there is waay too much hiss

  • @macelius This video will be re-done in much higher quality :) thanks for watching!

  • any more of these videos? I found it very helpful :)

  • @DurnoldDuke1 More on the way soon, many many more! :)

  • @GEWinterswolf excellent :) also, what do the green, blue, yellow, and red squares above each player indicate?

  • They are basically indicators of who is friendly and who isn't, you can set them yourself but basically Green/Blue = Friends and Corporation/Alliance members. Yellow / Red = Enemy, pirate or someone you are at war with / in combat with.

When players start becoming pirates they lose security rating, so you will find these players will turn either yellow or red with a skull in the box.

  • Usually I hate youtube videos, but i watched all 54 minutes of this lol.

  • Amazing video, very informative. I just started playing yesterday, if it wasn't for this video i might have quit out of frustration.

  • @Neva9999 Makes me really happy to read these sorts of comments, there's a brilliant game hidden under all that frustration and confusion. Glad you watched the whole video, quite a feat! :P

  • Doing a mission in a pvp fit frig isnt good advice...

  • @xanosdarkpaw1 Was just showing how to access missions and navigate, this video is all just general initial looks at the game. Future videos will discuss areas of the game, fits etc in more detail and properly. :) Consider this a 'tour' of the game menus and basic features.

  • this is how people play - 14 days trailer first 2 days wow nice looking youtube vis yah fuck thats nice i want that 3 day see how the real skill timer works fuck 6 mounth until i can fit and fly that ship... fuck no. I need 80 mil got thats hard. 1 week later. i got 4 mil damn this take age to grind. I need better income. 7 day first 0.4 sector get killed buy pirats fuck no.... i lost my damn ship day 8 the try again fail damn fuck this game i quit, Not word my penny. Well thats what happend

  • @TheVanGastel Hopefully my future videos show you how to improve on that experience ;) it can be much better than that.

  • oh my god your voice is unlistenable.

  • mate this guide is awesome! we need more! like more specific guides: pvp, mission running, mining, setting overview profiles for all above and stuff... more more more!

  • @strych88 I'm currently moving to Europe so been a little busy with that for the moment. But once i'm in our office we will be posting lots more detailed videos, at a much higher quality with better sound ;) rather wait a little bit and do it right rather than halfass it. So expect some within the next few weeks! :P

  • This video had the potential to be awesome, but the voice level just ruined it. Even when turned up enough to hear, the accompanying white noise is unbearable.

  • ahhhhh why am i at work.... i should be at home playing this game.... great video!!!

  • please fix your voice volume. other than that this was great

  • Your voice is way to low mate.

  • Thanks for this - as a complete and absolutely terrified newbie to EVE, I found it most useful ;)

  • @Bloomscounty No problem mate :) Don't worry, the fear never goes away, it only gets worse :D

  • @GEWinterswolf lol - well thanks for that! Although I've got a feeling that I might actually have to concede defeat to my nerdy male friend with this game; I shall persevere a little longer, as it might at least improve my "standing" in his eyes as to how long I survived it.. ;)

  • @Bloomscounty In all honesty, once you get over that initial obstacle of "wtf am I meant to be doing" you start to see things a lot more clearly. You also begin to understand things a lot quicker and that's when the game sucks you in and before you know it you're hooked. :D

You and your friend will be spending a lot of time together i'd say, in-game.

  • @GEWinterswolf Thanks for that I'll persevere a bit longer and hope it gets easier.. ;)

  • @Bloomscounty

Stick with it mate, trust me, like u i said wtf and gave it up for a few months, but i got back into it and am now in a director in a sov corp in the CFC.

And now take part in ship battles that make starwars to shame with thousands of ships.

I take part in protecting indy opps mining ice or minerials with heaps of mining and capitol mining barges.

I take part in structure bashing, with the danger of the enemy either defending or not blue balls opps.

  • @HonestBloke Thank you :) I've completed a few agent missions now and "some" things have gotten a "little" easier and are starting to make a little more sense. I don't have a whole lot of time to play the game BUT I'm trying to keep my training up! AND I've taken out a 3 month subscription now that my trial period is up, so that's definitely a good sign... Hope to maybe see you about sometime ;)

  • 14:46

    Levels range from 1-5

level 5 are only available in lowsec and fight carriers ect.

  • 54 min Beginner's Guide nice lol. i bet you only learn a bit too.

  • Hello there EVE Newbies. I'm in GoonSwarm Federation!

If you are interested in joining please let me know! I'll be happy to sponsor you in once you meet our requirements!

  • @JohanKrieger I wondered how long it would be before you guys poked your head around these parts :P

    Goonswarm <3

    EVE Uni </3

  • @JohanKrieger

    Go away goonswarm. Srsly.

    -Liam Shotson

  • @JohanKrieger i'm looking into properly starting eve, just want the backing of a Corp before I do so I know there'll be a place where I can get advice & help.

  • @MikeWoottonUK Search for Interstellar Corp, very helpful guys who have groups of people to help you get started on whatever area of the game you are interested in. Helps break the learning curve.

  • That agent finder thing was new to me. TXH!!! :DD

  • @7heJ4g No problem mate :)

  • Also was very disappointing when I thought I was able to walk in stations and interact with players face to face fast forward year latter I have close all my accounts sold for isk Aloing so

I thought dust 514 was going to tie in the eve some how ????

  • @dschlickone Being a player-driven game, you should never go in to it thinking you can play alone. This game is meant for groups and corps, really it isn't hard to find one at all so i've never seen that as a problem. I'm going to go in to jump clones and more of the gritty stuff in future videos, this one was just a very basic overview :)

DUST 514 is going to tie-in with EVE in real-time, the money players make on their PS3 on DUST will come from EVE corps / players. It is tied in very deeply.

  • Great video I have been playing for 3 years on and off now,,,The only thing that you forgot was

cloning and clone jumping installing your clone.ect I really like eve the only complaint I have is it gets boring the same old grind every day.And if you do not have and any one to play with forget about playing.Missions are boring.you solo missions or with a friend but every thing you is the same.as having owned my p,o,s, player owned station and having the best ships isk could buy

  • Comment removed

  • Bio-> Full Metal Alchemist

  • good for the most part but you should do more research first there are some aspects of the game that could have been more accurate. and you don't have to pvp in eve but it's more fun too. i played for a year before getting heavy into pvp.(aka carebearing)

  • Repost with sound up higher.

  • Repost with sound up higher.

  • Just remember, High sec is "safer" not safe

  • That microphone popping ias atrocious and the levels need serious work. shame otherwise i could have watched the entire thing :(

  • Comment removed

  • i seriously had no problem starting up a career. i dont think its as hard as rumored. oh yeah and what he said about pvp isnt entirely true. people are stupid if they a go around a high security area killing people or ai.

  • @atlas42185 What isn't entirely true about the risk of being attacked in high sec? I see it happen all the time.

  • @GEWinterswolf A lot of high sec combat is due to wars between corporations.

  • @SnookiedLuvsU Also due to suicide ganks, can flipping, tricks, scams, pirating etc in general. There's many reasons for high-sec combat. :) Anyone who says high-sec combat is non-existant or only due to wars has obviously not racked up many hours in EVE.. or they haven't played with me.

  • @atlas42185 A lot of people get ganked in high sec. It depends what you're flying and what's in your cargo hold. If it's a smaller ship transporting something very expensive - there is a good chance someone will sacrifice their ship in order to get your lewt.

  • You should be able to use a rifter well into lvl 2s with less than 1mil SP...

  • @Aang6678 I just wanted to show targeting, the ui etc for combat. I took my tackle-fitted Rifter out as it was the closest ship I had, the low slots, rigs etc all subsidise armor for speed. It's really not meant for combat, just getting through bubble camps and cheap, lightning fast tackling for PvP roams I attend.

But yes, you are correct about running missions easily in a Rifter, mine just wasn't fitted for it heh. Next video is about missions / ratting, i'll take a proper fit out then.

  • the second i saw you were a G.I.R.L. I lost all respect for you.

  • @MrDevin712 So you don't want to hang out in Goldshire with me?

  • Really cool video, helped me alot with understanding this game from a newbs point of view.

    Thanks.

  • @TiberiusBane No problem :) thanks for watching. I'll have more (better) videos real soon that will go in to more detail about the various careers, activities etc, so stay tuned!

  • first 10 minutes of staring into the dots... fail xD

  • @Mandrak789 They are so pretty though :( all those colours!

  • Mate i was thinknig thru the who movie you have no ammo and it was bugging me :) noticed to little blink and bam you have ammo :)

  • @westav26 Yeah if you also look the time is a lot further forward :P, I stopped recording and took a break before coming back to it :P

  • If you're watching this an don't know about EVE, if nothing else, skip to 10:00 if you're thinking about closing the video. The game is not just dots. It's actually more graphically advanced than BF3.

  • @SnookiedLuvsU Yeah it wasn't until I uploaded that I finished recording that it occurred to me how long I spent talking over the map overview. Hopefully it doesn't put anyone off, I probably should have mentioned what people were looking at before going on a massive rant :P

  • 21:50 you not in Jita ;)

  • @KalaaQ It's only a few jumps away :P

  • the reason it has a small tutorial then kick you out into space is so that it gets rid of the 12 year olds

  • lol.. first 10 mins are the system dots.... anyone watching this will probably imediatly close this video and move on to something else.

however, eve rules. try it out!

  • 2 people stole from canisters in front of stations.

  • Great video. Terrible sound. I could barely hear you with my sound at max volume.

  • @PDXOutdoors Yeah sorry about that! Will be fixed in future videos :)

  • @PDXOutdoors Yeah he simply needs to turn up volume in his Editing Program: look for something like normalize to 0, means the highest peak is set to the maximum volume without clipping. That usually levels the audio volume to a pretty standard level, as you would expect it.

  • @Fuffzehn Yeah sorry about that, the issue was the Razer Headphones I use. Any higher than that volume (which was increased in Sony Vegas as it was quieter) and it was just audible static the wholeway through. Painful open-air headset, but it's been fixed now I can use my mic at normal levels so future videos will be much louder :)

  • @PDXOutdoors

Your speakers suck then. I can hear him as if he is speaking

  • @Lolwut67 Yeah, I didn't realize there was a problem initially because the sound is perfect in my headphones.

  • Of ALL stations in EVE you picked the busted one in Malkalen XD

  • @theulair heh, just a random station I picked up a quick mission from not my home by any means :P

  • Good job on this vid. explaining eve to new players or people who havent heard of it is not that easy.

and i lolled when i saw an ex-wt in your watchlist.

  • @Dophoofd Yeah, I originally thought "oh i'll just put together a quick vid". Turned out to require a bit of planning and 54 mins -.- haha.

Heh, yeah my introduction to the game and my first corp was 2 consecutive War-Decs. I was quickly shown how to tackle and thrown in to the middle of it :P So much fun.

  • Playing since 2004, my favorite game by far, 141M sp pvp player >:)

  • @MECHcore Wow nice, that's definitely an achievement. Please don't scan me down and kill me please? :D

  • Game is great, like a true wild west but it doesn't have to be if want to stick to soloing in hi sec. Game really opens up once you find right corp. Most of issues that some ppl name here are gone. Costs spread out, cooperation and most of all fun increases dramatically. Of course if you keep complaining about game instead of leaving and finding new one then you are either a hypocrite or a troll.

  • @henoch44 This is the opinion of someone who evidently has actually invested some time in EVE, thanks for the comment mate :)

  • What kind of computer and video card use??

  • @eveonlinepvp

    Win7-64bit

    Intel i5 760 2.8GHz

    4GB DDR3 RAM

Radeon HD 6790 running at 2.8GB of video memory.

Nothing special, but lets me play max graphics. I run my alt also on a second monitor (dual 24") but that toon is generally on lowest settings to minimize impact on my main. All runs without a hitch though, seems to Fraps okay as well :)

  • @GEWinterswolf thank you very much because I know I still buy pc and video card but an idea I thank you very much.

I could make a recommendation on what type of pc buy, thanks for playing eve online

  • Interesting. I've hopped into EVE off-and-on, but never did get as into it as I could have. Maybe I should give this game more time when I can again.

  • @Kaffekane EVE is very much so one of those games where you only get out what you put in. I'd definitely say it's worth jumping back in, sign up with an active corp if you aren't already sitting in one and then put your hand up for whatever they are doing.

The most fun I have had in this game came from saying yes to doing whatever people in my corp are doing (if they are willing to take me), the things you see and do can sometimes be more amazing than you would of originally thought.

  • @GEWinterswolf I used to mostly run high-sec mining back and forth (killed/looted any rats that bugged me) and asked questions that for the most part were happily answered, if not at least directing me towards doing my homework about the game around the forums without being all "RTFM" about it.

I would love to get back into EVE, and possibly join a player-run corp, but I don't have the means just yet. When I do, this is one of the games that I'll look at.

  • the whole, "I make billions and have never bought a plex" is a lie also.

Back to skills for second: you need about 50 million skill points to be proficient.

most players I knew in game, had 50 million skill ponts in GUNNERY alone.

you can get about one skill point per second or so, So how long is it going to take you count to 50 million?

the people being hostile and rude to my posts, and not even acknowledging the truth about EVE are the kind who can't wait to meet a new player, like you...

  • @halechad I just wonder if you are one of them that live in high sec all of thier game life. And by the looks of it you totaly ignore the fact that by risking all, you make tons of money. There is a much better chance for a +100mil site to spawn in low and null sec, and you cry a lot about that u need to risk money too make money. If you don't like doing that have fun mining with a Hulk / Covetor / Retriever in 1,0. If you don't like that, why are you still playing the game?

  • @halechad Just last week a small group of my corp members, some newer members, entered a wormhole for a few hours and left with 1.5 Billion ISK. You can make enough for a PLEX just by doing 1 incursion, the majority of my corp and a lot of people in EVE pop PLEX on their account like it's nothing. You can get to that point easily, if you join a decent corp and participate in the sandbox world that is EVE Online, not just float around high-sec selling basic ores :)

  • @GEWinterswolf then you need to make a video that tells people how to play EVE:

    1. Hide behind a corp because your toon has no skills...

    2. hope they don't give a shit that you have no skills and can't fly a damn thing... Frigate 5, electronics 5, cloaking 4, electronic upgrades 5, covert ops 3, torp skills, fitting skills, just takes a *FEW* months

    3. hope they know they need to give you your skill books, cyberware, clone upgrade, jumpclone, and reimburse any and *ALL* loses...

  • @GEWinterswolf also, I have been in low sec, Hakonen, and No Sec with sollar wind corp (goonswarm federation) I do know how to play. I do know that the high stakes is where the money is at...

but for everyone that wins at russian roulette, how many loose?

  • @halechad Goonswarm openly took in noobs to use as cannon fodder. You generalize new players and make assumptions that in reality only apply to a small group of lazy players who will never make progress in this game anyways.

This is a niche game, if you don't like it, don't play it. There are plenty of us who have no problems finding our way throughout the world and we're happy to remain here and enjoy our time :)

Nuff said. EVE is not a game for everyone, not everyone will be good at it.

  • @halechad diaf, ty.

  • I have an eight month toon. I have been playing for those eight months. However, I have actually been playing for over four years now! I DO know this game inside and out. the whole, "your retarded" commentary you see here, is the kind of crap you are going to get from others in EVE online.

thew whole "just fly a Battle ship" comment is spectacularly impaired, as one must first have frigate skills, then cruiser skills, and then start Battle ship skills... good grief.

  • @halechad reading your past comments, seems like you suck at eve and are mad about it. Ive been playing for 2 years, im in nullsec in an awesome alliance. I have 2b isk (never bought a plex) i have ships spread out over the whole universe. Whenever i need ISK i go rat in anomalies or do some incursions.. oh did i mention i play for free?? Yeah, i represent the majority of eve players, you Halechad represent the newbs that get ganked in high sec. QQ more NOOB

  • sorry cant hear you speak up man!

  • @metalvenom yeah sorry about that, all be fixed for next video ;)

  • @halechad You clearly have never played the game for any significant amount of time. I'm still a noob and I'm able to make enough money to cover expenses for small ship PvP - and that's with playing for about 1 or 2 hours per day.

And the skill system is so much better because I don't have to actually play to be leveling up. I haven't played for 4 days and I'm still leveling.

You sound like a carebear who got into the harsh world of EVE and cried his way back to WoW.

  • @oogabubchub And I laughed. All the Yodu De.

  • @halechad

    1) Unless you earn enough ISK to PLEX.

    2) Wtf?

    3) That's bullshit unless you're retarded in which case EVE won't miss you.

    4) Congrats.

    5) Again, not unless you're retarded.

Making money in EVE is easy as hell. All you need is a BC to kill rats in 0.0 and you're sorted.

  • @AdhocHoopla I find it's best to completely ignore these sort of comments, like CCP have said many times, their game isn't for everyone and they are proud of that. Some people just "don't get it" like a grandfather doesn't get his grandchilds music.

  • @GEWinterswolf A perfect analogy ^^

  • @halechad This is wrong. PvP is skill based and it can be a ton of fun. I dont PLEX or rat, just kill people who are stupid or think they are good.

  • @halechad So here's the rundown:

    1. You're an idiot.

    2. You're an idiot.

    3. You're an idiot.

    4. You might be right there, but you're still an idiot for complaining.

    5. You're an idiot.

  • @halechad Here's a hint for you. Use only what you can lose. I have never had buy a PLEX by using this simple hint.

  • хаха ))) с патронами тоже такое бывало )

  • @halechad This is exactly why EVE isn't the game for everyone, but hey, I love it that way ;)

  • @halechad I disagree, I have seen 1 week old players take down players who have been playing for 2 years.

  • Brilliant guide for beginners, informative and to the point (which is something EVE doesn't do very well...!)

Apart from the fact you're a little bit quiet in the video, it's thumbs up from me!

  • @RinkyDink965 Thanks! A lot more nice people watching this video than I thought. The mic is a bit terrible but should be replaced before my next video :)

  • Favourited by CCP. Congrats man, good guide.

  • @molewizard Awesome, thanks for letting me know :) Wondered where the sudden jump in comments and views came from :P

  • Welps, guess I don't need to make one now! Great work!

  • @FAPDegren More guides can't hurt ;) Always good to view something from another perspective.

  • good video, alot of important aspects covered in the game. Im still loving this game after 4 years of playing.

  • @link4531 Thanks mate, I am still fairly fresh in to the game but seriously addicted :D I think i'll be playing for years to come.

  • Nice vid man. This will help any newbie that comes into the game and I hope it helps more people try the game. Now where is my Corps description? lol

  • @Paintchk218 I hope it does encourage more people to try out the game :) EVE can always use more members, just, more of the 'right' members. It is after all, not a game for everyone.

  • @GEWinterswolf I might that last part of my comment as a joke. You know Recruiting and all that jazz. :)

  • @Paintchk218 oh haha, now I getcha. ;)

  • @Paintchk218 Oh and also, corp desc, corp menu on the left. It will display a series of tabs in the window that pops up. You can find it in there :)

  • EVE Online probably is the best MMO on PC.

DUST 514 is going to be the best MMO FPS Game on Consoles and in the same Universe of EVE.

    CCP truly are innovators.

  • Mate this is fantastic. I was looking for JUST this and to find one posted only 2 days ago? Marvellous! Thanks for doing this!!

  • @Rufio80 No problem mate :) I'll be doing regular episodes that progressively touch on different areas in the game so be sure to check back, and if you are ever stuck on anything feel free to message me / comment.

  • You have characters now? Game has came by a long way since I last played.

  • @TheSmalHobbit Yeah, it's VERY different now to how it used to be. The space stations have captains quarters now as you can see, and eventually space stations will be complete explorable structures with local communal areas etc. That is in the works but for now they are just working on fleshing out and polishing old systems and features.

  • Thanks for the vid man. I was looking to give this game a try and going in with at least some basic knowledge will help.

  • @crazedimp321 No problem :) like I said in the video, once you get in to the game you will find it isn't really hard, just an overhwelming amount of things to do and see.

  • very nice m8, but youre voice volume is bit too low

  • @emocromatosi1 Yeah, issue with the Mic. Will have to pick up a better set for recording, Razer headphones are great sound quality but seem to lack when it comes to recording.

  • Nice sound, mate.

  • @krattlusker Thanks mate :)
