On the video for the actual song I said that I actually liked the song a good bit. It's pretty cool sounding(although repetition makes it pretty boring toward the end).

My problem is with the big name drummer they hired who is doing something that anyone with a drumkit could do. It's selling his image, not his skills. And I pity that.

DUDE, not just anyone could make a beat like that, it has a pretty innovative bass drum pattern (how often have you heard it?) and signature crash cymbals and crazy fills.

Damn right this is selling his skills and they make this song one of the best The Game has done.

As far as innovative bass drum pattern.. it's a simple bass on 1st beat, snare on 3rd and every once in a while he throws in an extra bass hit.. nothing too crazy.

I mean, it fits the song and doesn't go too crazy, which is good. It just feels like to feature someone in a song they would do something more interesting than what a session drummer could do.

Well, I am an amatuer, along with everyone here--unless you're making money off of something. I do have musical training though and have admitted that the drumming goes well with the song.

My point was that for such a big name drummer he's not doing anything particularly creative or hard. I literally just sat down at my drum kit in the middle of typing this and copied his pattern.
