  • AWESOME!

  • He was used to be a mentor of my guitar life in my young days. The place was taken over by David Russell when I met him in early 1980's.

I strongly felt that a new hero on the guitar apprared in the world.

  • Thak you for your comment. I will try to listen to Holzman. My favorit recording of this piece is the one played by A. Segovia and R. Puyana, a harpsicordist. Their duo is just amasing. In those days Segovia kept saying that this piece was one of the works of L.S.Weiss, which I doubted. And also this piece is my memorial piece since I hand-wrote the music when I had just started to play the guitar.

In live Norihiko's concert was my first encounter of this piece.

  • The audio no doubt detracts from his escellent playing and obscures certain dynamics, etc. A modern guitarist whose recordings I enjoy is Adam Holtzman; his album of Ponce is very good and he has an outstanding rendition of the above Prelude.

  • Very smooth, fluid playing, with nary a mistake. Very consistent, especially for a live performance. I would prefer more dynamics, accents, and interpretive variety. However, very good for its time.

  • He was a genius on guitar but too humble to keep living in modern age. This piece was one his favorit and the dynamic range was far ahead of the other professional guitarists. One note he played tells you that he is super. The same experice I got when I attened Davis Russell concert in 1980'.
