hey i have a question. when you are going arpeggio but you want to play with your pick, how do you play it? I tried to go alternate picking, but way too many mistakes. Do I need to just practice the heck out of it or go with some difference picking pattern? for example, you wanna play the strings 6-32-31-23-1231 and then 6. it's really hard to accurately hit the 6th string because when you're playing the bass not the second time, it's an up-picking. I wonder how others do it.
man, thanks for your picking lessons. i have been seriously playing guitar for about a month now(ive been picking it up, learning a bfew chords and putting it back down for a few years now) but anyway i have an acoustic so i fingerpick alot and am pretty good at it, but im terrible with a flatpick. your techniques have really helped me out alot.
Hmm. I think the very first lesson on flatpicking should be on how to hold the plectrum, and from which part of the hand/arm should the motion come from. Have you anything for me sir?
This video is about the alternating down-up motion of the pick but you are right, I have no videos about how to hold the plectrum, maybe in the future? I'll try...
@enduggy I know you posted this 2 years ago but what the hell ill answer you any way, this guy does an excellent 3 part lesson on right hand mechanics, good for beginners or experienced hand looking to brush up on technique... his youtube name is adamschlenker
