  • No words can describe how much I love this darn video lol WOW!!!!!! Lol ok. So, I do have a question. I've noticed that my newgrowth is only manageable when I wash/condition (wet state of course) it. I have such a hard time dealing with it when it's dry....could it be the lack of deep/leave in conditioners???? And oil? Because that's what I'm thinking :/

  • @TheRedHead22 Hello, yes you may need to find another deep conditioner & leave in that will help you maintain moisture and manageability throughout the week. I love aubrey organic honeysuckle rose deep conditioner and I deep condition on dry hair so my hair can absorb the DC better & for leave in I use the kimmaytube leave in, it's amazing and also I only deal with my hair once a week so I only comb once a week I find a style that will last until my next wash day, I hope this helps

  • Any human, boyfriends included that make ignorant statements like that should be checked and perhaps, dropped.. Pray for them if you can...

No one needs negative trash pretending to be a friend...

  • @Thepurfectme your so right, they will get dropped like a bad habit....lol

  • Hello and thanks for the tips...this is my 2nd transition..1st transition was nov 1999 from then on I wore every braid style or sew in u could think of until 2009..only natural look I would wore was between hair dues 2 let my hair breathe like puff balls or my own afro...2009 I went thru a change and got a perm again...feb 2011 i changed again...I been back on my braids and sew ins..now I wanna try wearing my soft shrinkage hair...so I hope ur tips work 4 my weird hair...

  • @mzgunzok My last relaxer was Feb 2011 also.... my shrinkage is crazy you will see when I flat iron next month or April. I hope these tips and advice help just stay strong and keep going forward.

  • A youtuber said that she usually trims off how much hair she grows. So if she grows an inch of hair, she will cut off an inch of her relaxed end.

  • @KiaraRoxATT246 trimming is totally up to the person and how long you want your transition to last I'm easing right into my natural hair nobody will never know. last year I cut off a total of 4 inches I probably grew 7 inches last year so it comes out to about the same I'm in no rush I have another year to go.... my next trim is in April.

  • @kikicouture10 really!! I saw your wet texture shots!! your bang is really THICK!! i cant believe it is 100% natural!! I am really motivated to go natural. i think i will stretch 10 months and throughout my stretch i think that while be when i decide whether or not i will go natural!! Good idea??

  • Kiki ~ I did my BC tonight so i'll be posting pics on hairlista tomorrow once i'm all dolled up !

  • @brandi1525 omg, congrats, how do you feel about it, Good luck on your natural hair journey and I will check out the pics

  • @brandi1525 Hey Brandi did you put the pics up, I don't think I seen them on hairlista

  • @kikicouture10 ~ yep and I changed my profile pic on hairlista too. Send me your email and I'll send em directly to you.

  • I love your hair in this video!! It doesn't look like you have that much relaxed ends left....how much do you have and when do you plan to cut the rest?

  • @21mahoganybrown hello, Thanks so much I would say I'm about 50/50 Natural & relaxed. I'm not sure when I will cut the rest. I'm doing small trims this year, I have a goal of bra strap length hair this year my bang is 100% natural.

  • Thanx u too hun!

  • Wow great video! I can totally relate to everything u said in this video.. This also gave me more confidence to embrace my natural hair n stop trying to hide it bcuz I'm scared of what others will say.. I'm putting a stop to that right now! Keep up the good work with ur hair bcuz ur very inspirational :)

  • @sphawes100 Thanks so much and thanks for the positive support I wish you the best of luck on your hair journey. <3

  • Ive followed your videos for a good while now and I am so proud of you as well as inspired by you. Im contemplating going natural and this video was just what the doctor ordered. Keep up the good work KiKi. Cant wait to see what's next.

  • Your hair looks great!

  • @lalam4012 Thanks so much <3

  • I am 10 wks post my last relaxer. I've watched lots of videos trying to get the right tips for transitioning and yours if my favorite. Straight to the point & plenty of vital info to help others. Thank you!

  • @marlastewart Thanks so much I can remember when I first started It wasn't that much information out there so I wanted to make this video for everyone who is just getting started or thinking about transitioning. Good luck with your hair journey. I'm rooting for you. HHJ

  • @mrs813 Hot oil treatments are good for dry or brittle hair and deep conditioning longer or maybe overnight for extra moisture.

  • This is a great video, with alot of helpful information. I am a teen transitioner and I am currently at 6 1/2 months. I am finding that I'm have breakage in the front left side of my hair and i dont know what to do. I have made the decision to cut my SL length hair to chin length because of it. And i was wondering if you had any advice after i cut my hair to prevent anymore harm.

  • @ilovethemarvelinc I would say to keep the line of demarcation where the natural & relaxed hair meet moisturized and the ends as well. Deep conditioning and dusting in between trims to keep the ends maintained.

  • Thank you for the very informative tips.. I'm just past 6 months into my transition.. and have already cut 6 inches off.. I keep my hair in african threading.. its something i wore when i was younger and it helps stretch and grow my hair.. I do my daughters hair the same and she is 3, and has mid back hair.. She is my real inspiration for natuaral hair...lol! As i get to see her 24/7..lol! I always look forward to your vids.. Your hair is looking good:-)

  • @jemjtt Thanks so much and I seen a lot of youtubers inspired by their daughters natural hair I think that is so precious you can do it. HHJ

  • Thank you very much for your precise and informative video. I've just began my transitioning journey (3 months) and your presentation is direct and to the point. I look forward to your future videos.

  • @Bluegizzie Thanks, just hang in there once I got to 6 months I was at the point of no return. Good luck on transitioning.

  • you're very informal...love your videos

  • @harajuku2272 Thanks love, HHJ.

  • Thanks for this inspirational and informative video!! I will be one year post relaxer Feb 13!! I'm still kind of struggling with breakage and dryness, but I never thought about giving up:-D

  • @AllClass2011 Hello, you can try the queen helene unscented garlic shampoo it stopped my breakage after 2 uses it says it for excessive hair loss and breakage it's very gentle and doesn't strip my hair it worked like a charm you can find it at the beauty supply store and just remember to add lots of moisture even at the line of demarcation where the natural hair meets the relaxed. I will see you at the natural finish line. Good luck, HHJ <3

  • @kikicouture10 I will be trying this soon:) Thank you for your time and HHJ<3 <3

  • I don't know if your subscribed this lady but her username is kimmaytube. You should look her up when you have time. And I mean you need some time. She is the most knowledgeable women I have ever seen on natural hair by far.

  • @crazygirl27831 Hello, I have been subbed to her for over a year even when I was relaxed she has taught me about ph balance about the basic structure of the hair and her videos has helped me master my hair texture.

  • nice

  • WOOT WOOT!!! i Know how it feels to have people not understand my transition...but i glad my mom and my boyfriend are so supportive about my hair..I know im just 5 months post but i just know that no matter what to hold my head up and keep doing me... Its like everybody i know wears weave and just because i dont they make me feel like a outsider...i like being different as well so im going in with my best!

  • Thank you for making this video!!! What really stuck out to me what when you said be patient becuase I'm not a patient person at all, I'm always looking for an easy way out lol. so now I'm trying to change my regimen, I'm looking for products that are PH balanced to help me with detangling and retaining moisture.I know this transitiong process isn't going to be easy and so I'm thankful for people like you on youtube who have so many helpful tips & tricks!

  • @DillysTime I just purchased my ingredients to make the kimmaytube leave in conditioner from the reviews on it people have said it's a great leave in that softens the new growth, adds lots of moisture and helps with detangling. Good luck Dilly

  • Thanks for this video! Looks like you and I are on the same transitioning schedule. I'm almost 1 year post as well. My 1 year date is February 4. Very helpful advice!

  • @nscmonroe Wow, we are right there together, just hang in there we can do it. HHJ

  • Very Cute end result! Check out my page Im also transitioning with a mixture of relaxed and natural! Mz. Pinky dont forget to subscribe more videos coming!

  • @MzPinkification Thanks so much and good luck with transitioning

  • NICE LOVE!

by the way that braid out is the bomb! looking awesome did you use sumn diff in it or what?

  • @FindingtheBalance302 I lightly spritz with water and used the organcix pomegranate green tea anti frizz serum I love it and I rolled the ends as normal another thing that I did differently was I kept the braids in longer (2 days) before taking them down that gave me more definition & b4 taking the braids down I moisturized with shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie and took them down with coconut oil, to give volume I used herbal essence body envy volumizing hairspray.Thnx

  • @kikicouture10 AWESOME! IM SOO DYING TO GET MY HANDS ON SOME SHEA MOISTURE SMOOTHIE.. BUT NO SOLD IN MY COUNTRY SO YE .. gt wait and then order it or sumn

  • very informative video. your hair looks so much better than when it was relaxed. u did a good choice of transitioning. BTW, I love your hair color.

  • @aqua7nounourse thanks so much I "Think" I will be dying it Black in April I just love jet Black hair and I don't have that but I'm not 100% sure on that.

  • Great job, I'm trek helping my mom transition.

  • @pamrosina that's great that your helping your mom I'm trying to inspire family members as well but I can't force them because most of them view natural hair in a negative way. HHJ

  • Thank you so much for this video.

  • @karmalqt your welcome, HHJ

  • Great vid kiki thanks for taking the time to provide such helpful information. My transitioning process has made me fall in love with my hair. The only down fall is I have become a product junkie and its out of control!! LOL

  • @SweetHuneyDipz No problem, I'm loving my hair as well I can't wait to see what next year has in stored. HHJ

  • This is one of the best in depth transitiong tips vids I have seen!I am 58 wks post and I do and agree w/ pretty much everything you said. I went heat free for 6mths last yr and probably will go even longer this yr. No heat is definitely worth the results!Keep pumping out the informational vids!

  • @ahall98 Thanks so much, I will be flat ironing April 2012 to trim and then I won't be adding heat after that for a while. HHJ
