There are no classes what so ever in these games but if your lookin for the closest to rogue gameplay I would go with the dual swords. Stats also work in a different way then that of MMO's or "class" orientated games, depending on what jewels or decorations you have on certain armours can greatly increase the armours effectiveness and don't even get me started on weapons... Just gotta pick it up and learn from experience is all.

@jexman41 The objective of the game is to hunt in the most realistic fashion you can imagine. Meaning that you actually have to guard yourself against weather conditions, use items you collect to your benefit, and slay monsters upon observing their patterns. The game has no usual objective and can be played for hundreds of hours because of quest levels and repetition plus multiplayer. I hope this answered your question.

Monster hunter is a sweet game. There is a story. And you CAN use big weapons, and smalls, you can use bows, or guns. And there are like 1000 armour sets in MHFU. I would give this game 4 and a half stars. It is amazing and epic. I could not reply because I am typing this from my ipod :) hope this answered your questions.

lol i remember fighting this On MH2 for psp. I believe theres a Good Weakspot right under the wing. Couple of hits from a Long Sword Does a good Deal of Damage. XD it seemed like ur partner was making fun of You for half the time.

This is Monster Hunter for the PS2 that came out in 2004. Monster Hunter Tri has the same fundamentals and gameplay, but is vastly improved in every regard. I suggest you look up some recent videos of it, it'll change your mind.

The one you PS2 MH (the one in this video) no longer has online capabilities but Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii comes to the states April 6th (I think),and April 27th(once again not sure) to the UK. That will have an online infrastructure and hopefully be free,They are porting a PC one that's been out in Japan for a few years to the 360 as well,that one however will have a monthly fee.

I have not played it, but I've learned that you can't get as much missions offline as you can online, so that MAY be why you can't access so many missions.

If you aren't slow than you would have taken into effect that the battle did not immediately start and I did not immediately stop recording when I finished killing it. I used to be able to play it online with my friend at his house though; we were only a room away from each other so we didn't have to deal with the annoying typing to each other XD

But a while later I finally got it working at my house and we started over.. just as we got to around rank 13-14 or so we see the message that the servers will be shutting down. T_T Oh well..
