If you want to try something different, why not try something fitting for horror? Like something from that NES horror title, Sweet Home. Most of your songs are usually upbeat and cheerful, trying to make something gloomy and depressing would probably be a nice change of paint.
I've heard you talk about having a recent interest in RPG music. I'm pretty familiar with the genre, so if you need any tips and tricks, I'd be happy to share what I know.
That being said, I don't think you should base your next experiment on what gets you the most views. If there's something you really want to try, just go for it and see what happens, even if it isn't as popular as your Mega Man stuffs. You never know what kind of inspiration you'll get from the experience. ^_^
Great tune! As usual, it has a very catchy melody!
As for things to experiment with, like I mentioned before, I really think you should experiment with the Secret of Evermore style. The score was composed by Jeremy Soule, and was the first game he composed for.
I don't know why this popped into my head, but I am kinda wondering what a fairly traditional 60s song (oh, think something like Bobby Hebb's Sunny) would sound like in 8-bit. As well, I'd be curious to hear a few tradition game tune (like a Gradius track or Mega Man track we all know and love... say... Dive Man or Jewel Man themes?) would sound like retooled into a track for a live 4 or 5 piece band... Can you make that happen or something to that nature?
Great suggestions, guys! When I asked for what style you'd like to hear next, I didn't mean for you to list video game titles, but that's okay, too. I'm really liking Sacredfire's suggestion (abstract) and GigaHands' (epic 8-bit). Sounds like fun. :^)
I love all of the different Mega Man styles (Classic, X, Zero, ZX, even Battle Network to some degree). That said, your Final Fantasy 6 sample tunes rocked my world. I'm not entirely sure what to suggest, because I like a lot of diff types of video game music and chiptune type stuff. You seem to be good at coming up with cool stuff on your own. What do YOU want to do? What has been on your mind that you've been putting off?
@vtnwesley : Honestly, I'd really like to sharpen my RPG skills some more and develop my own style. I've done my fair share of Mega Man themes (you'd think 41 stage themes is a large enough figure), and while I'm NOT saying that I'm tired of doing Mega Man/NES stuff, I haven't really explored anything else as much. It doesn't seem too many people are interested in my RPG stuff, though. As I post newer music from the genre, the comments and views continue to wane.
@vtnwesley : (continued) That saddens me a little bit, but I will probably keep on pumping out new RPG songs, accompanied by the occasional Mega Man song and experimental tracks inspired by others' suggestions. For now, though, I'm in a pretty NESy mood, so you can expect some new songs of the sort.
@Kevvviiinnn Well, after so much mega man, you got pretty good at it. People really enjoy it. We all get comfortable. Even I did a bit of a "uh... whats this?" for a second when I saw non-megaman stuff. Maybe work your way across genres or styles you like so it's less of a shock. Start off with "it-might-be-castlevania" or "It-might-be-Raystorm/Layer Section" or something lol. Then move to more drastic changes. Ease the masses into it. infact, Raystorm-esque gets my vote.
It sounds a bit like MM Unlimited Glue Man stage theme. I guess it's the style of music tones this theme uses. It's a pretty decent song. Nice work! I like it! :)
How about another boss song? I was thinking some Wily Stage boss music? You haven't really done that many fight songs, though the ones you have done are quite good! =)
Colors: Green, Blue (inverse to the default MM colors)
Cost: 0 initially, weapon energy gets used with damage prevented on a 1:1 basis. You can release the shield at a cost of 4 units.
While this shield is active, you are immune to all attacks until you exit a room. The weapon uses 1 energy for every point of damage it negates, and if it collides with an enemy it does damage to that enemy equal to the damage it would do to megaman on collision.
Maybe you should release your NES samples, it would be easier to anyone to make their own remixes. (I tried Plogue Chipsounds but I didn't really understand it)
I'd like to hear some DKC style. The best music outside Capcom games!
Also, I was wondering if you'd go "screw authenticity" and do some sort of 8-bit epic song, I would love to hear the limits of what said sounds are capable of. I read the description (you there, reading this, should do so as well) and like that you've discarded the perfectionism regarding authenticity, but just for one song at least, I want you to discard the authenticity entirely. 'Twill be epic.
I get a little nitpicky when I know something isn't made within the NES's limitations *coughTouhouRockgirlArrangecough* but I can barely tell that you haven't used Chipsounds for this one. Nice work Kev!
Anyway, I wanna hear some more NES-style tunes since you haven't done that many of them recently with all the orchestral sample business. Also, I wouldn't mind hearing MM6 songs in the MM7 style.
Why would anybody come to Vegas during the summer? I don't have a choice; I live here.
Also welcome back; you should do music in the style of Hiroki Kikuta (ala Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Koudelka, if for some reason you're not familiar.
I always wanted to hear a song using organic sounding instruments instead of video game sounds, if you catch my drift xD
Your rpg songs sounded awesome, maybe you could try different genres of music with organic instruments. just pitchin ideas, either way your songs would probably sound the best lol
I'd like to hear a semi-abstract theme, with full instrumentation, but slow and echoey. Just a thought, 'cause I haven't seen many 'abstract' 8-bit themes.
There is any chance to yours samples get released? :3

A deep song with a great meaning.
Nice that you made a proper background to your Mega Man compositions as well.
I'd like to hear something similar to Mega Man 9's Flash in the Dark and
Mega Man 10's Abandoned Memory or Against The Pressure/No turning back.
Could you create something with a similar melody those songs have?
I really love those songs, they are so moody and serious, which I like.
It's a good thing you know how to compose Mega Man music, some of them should be on official games.
