  • There is any chance to yours samples get released? :3

  • This song has ATTITUDE.

  • How did you do THIS with FL STUDIO? Sounds like Famitracker, seriously. This is epic! :O

  • How many stages are there?!

  • I'm going to use this tune for my Sphere Man

  • man i got to ask you, ¿what version of fl studio do you use? because i am trying to do this by myself

  • there's a point at about 0:43 ,no offense meant, it kinda reminds me of Guile's Theme

  • oh please release a nes sampleset pleeeeeeaaaaaseeeee.

  • The 0 people who disliked this shou- wait a minute.

  • WAIT, you can rip NES sounds too?

  • @anotherfreakingguy Yeah. I've seen someone do it with GB samples too to make Pokemon GSC-style tunes.

  • @Snip3rNife Man, why don't they post links to these? I think it would really help the community some.

  • @anotherfreakingguy *shrug* Kevvviiinnn has links to his SNES samples on one of his video's descriptions.

  • About your RPG songs, have you ever considered making a sci-fi themed RPG song?

  • If you want to try something different, why not try something fitting for horror? Like something from that NES horror title, Sweet Home. Most of your songs are usually upbeat and cheerful, trying to make something gloomy and depressing would probably be a nice change of paint.

  • Why from 0:44 to 0:57 reminds me of Guile's theme?

I guess this goes with everything too.

  • @DjKlzonez Hahaha I totally heard that too.

  • A deep song with a great meaning.

Nice that you made a proper background to your Mega Man compositions as well.

I'd like to hear something similar to Mega Man 9's Flash in the Dark and

Mega Man 10's Abandoned Memory or Against The Pressure/No turning back.

Could you create something with a similar melody those songs have?

I really love those songs, they are so moody and serious, which I like.

It's a good thing you know how to compose Mega Man music, some of them should be on official games.

  • I've heard you talk about having a recent interest in RPG music. I'm pretty familiar with the genre, so if you need any tips and tricks, I'd be happy to share what I know.

That being said, I don't think you should base your next experiment on what gets you the most views. If there's something you really want to try, just go for it and see what happens, even if it isn't as popular as your Mega Man stuffs. You never know what kind of inspiration you'll get from the experience. ^_^

  • I don't know how familiar you are with Maniac Mansion, but it had some pretty good songs.

    Maybe something in that style.

  • Great tune! As usual, it has a very catchy melody!

As for things to experiment with, like I mentioned before, I really think you should experiment with the Secret of Evermore style. The score was composed by Jeremy Soule, and was the first game he composed for.

  • i said it again, but you must try kirby style musics! they are unique i think! but anyway, do what you want to do, i'll love your style in general

  • I don't know why this popped into my head, but I am kinda wondering what a fairly traditional 60s song (oh, think something like Bobby Hebb's Sunny) would sound like in 8-bit. As well, I'd be curious to hear a few tradition game tune (like a Gradius track or Mega Man track we all know and love... say... Dive Man or Jewel Man themes?) would sound like retooled into a track for a live 4 or 5 piece band... Can you make that happen or something to that nature?

  • @MasterQuest1984 : No, it's made with my own NES samples.

  • Great suggestions, guys! When I asked for what style you'd like to hear next, I didn't mean for you to list video game titles, but that's okay, too. I'm really liking Sacredfire's suggestion (abstract) and GigaHands' (epic 8-bit). Sounds like fun. :^)

  • @Kevvviiinnn How about some NES or SNES Metroid style themes?

  • I love all of the different Mega Man styles (Classic, X, Zero, ZX, even Battle Network to some degree). That said, your Final Fantasy 6 sample tunes rocked my world. I'm not entirely sure what to suggest, because I like a lot of diff types of video game music and chiptune type stuff. You seem to be good at coming up with cool stuff on your own. What do YOU want to do? What has been on your mind that you've been putting off?

  • @vtnwesley : Honestly, I'd really like to sharpen my RPG skills some more and develop my own style. I've done my fair share of Mega Man themes (you'd think 41 stage themes is a large enough figure), and while I'm NOT saying that I'm tired of doing Mega Man/NES stuff, I haven't really explored anything else as much. It doesn't seem too many people are interested in my RPG stuff, though. As I post newer music from the genre, the comments and views continue to wane.

  • @vtnwesley : (continued) That saddens me a little bit, but I will probably keep on pumping out new RPG songs, accompanied by the occasional Mega Man song and experimental tracks inspired by others' suggestions. For now, though, I'm in a pretty NESy mood, so you can expect some new songs of the sort.

  • @Kevvviiinnn Well, after so much mega man, you got pretty good at it. People really enjoy it. We all get comfortable. Even I did a bit of a "uh... whats this?" for a second when I saw non-megaman stuff. Maybe work your way across genres or styles you like so it's less of a shock. Start off with "it-might-be-castlevania" or "It-might-be-Raystorm/Layer Section" or something lol. Then move to more drastic changes. Ease the masses into it. infact, Raystorm-esque gets my vote.

  • It sounds a bit like MM Unlimited Glue Man stage theme. I guess it's the style of music tones this theme uses. It's a pretty decent song. Nice work! I like it! :)

  • I would like to see more Mario songs, if possible.

  • New picture = WIN.

    New song = WIN.

  • A Contra series song would be different.

  • How about you try a Legend of Zelda-esque tune.

  • How about another boss song? I was thinking some Wily Stage boss music? You haven't really done that many fight songs, though the ones you have done are quite good! =)

  • Um... ever heard of Asmik-kun land? Never mind... how about an Adventure Island-like theme?

  • 0:44 GUILE´S THEME GOES WITH EVERYTHING!

To me it sounds like a Wily stage 3

  • YES! now get back to work, JK great work as always.

  • Like a serious sky stage, kinda like a battle ship stage or something.

  • Water stage.

    Boss: Hydro Man

    Weapon: Hydro Shield

Colors: Green, Blue (inverse to the default MM colors)

Cost: 0 initially, weapon energy gets used with damage prevented on a 1:1 basis. You can release the shield at a cost of 4 units.

While this shield is active, you are immune to all attacks until you exit a room. The weapon uses 1 energy for every point of damage it negates, and if it collides with an enemy it does damage to that enemy equal to the damage it would do to megaman on collision.

  • that's a nice logo right there!

  • Song is great, man. I like your new mindset.

Suggestion for music: Stuff that sounds like it's from a C64 or Sega Genesis.

  • Sounds quite impressive.

Maybe you should release your NES samples, it would be easier to anyone to make their own remixes. (I tried Plogue Chipsounds but I didn't really understand it)

  • Mario stuff is what I'd like to see. :D

Also that one request of a Proto Man castle-esque theme I requested on your channel a while back wouldn't hurt.

  • Final Fantasy V soundsample originals/remixes/covers? I love the low guitars and harps in FFV's music.

  • Ooh, Kirby-Style, Metroid-Style or Street Fighter-Style would be awesome.

And I wouldn't say no to some Mario either :D

  • @13mungoman13 yeah kirby style is a great idea too! i forgot to say it!

  • What about Zelda: ALttP Style? =)

    I'd also like to hear a Lufia-II-Style and basically ... let's say ... Turn-Based-RPG-Style ;p.

  • If you feel like experimenting, you should make some Megaman 7 remixes/original tunes, even try Megaman&Bass instruments if that is possible!!

I really love this song BTW, very nice job

  • awesome stage! for the other styles, i suggest mega man 7, romancing saga battle, super mario world 1-2, the legend of zelda style

there's a lot more, but actually i really like all of your musics, so anyway, keep going!

  • I'd like to hear some DKC style. The best music outside Capcom games!

Also, I was wondering if you'd go "screw authenticity" and do some sort of 8-bit epic song, I would love to hear the limits of what said sounds are capable of. I read the description (you there, reading this, should do so as well) and like that you've discarded the perfectionism regarding authenticity, but just for one song at least, I want you to discard the authenticity entirely. 'Twill be epic.

  • Something Metroid like would be cool. I seem to remember some Super Metroid like song in your music scraps video.

  • are you familar with the adventures of bayou billy?

  • Obtw, Kev, I'm working on that RPG-Style still for you.

  • Fuck YES now I can finally run your .flp's!

Now you're fully sample based, I can give some requests:

    1) Some work with the VRC6. VRC7, FDS, N106, and FME7

    2) Sunsoft Style

    3) Konami Style

Would love to see some Virt inspired work as well, his work in FX2 is mostly Konami though.

Great to see you back man : )

  • Do some Street Fighter-style songs :B

  • I think you should try Touhou Soundfont.

  • I vote Castlevania style.

  • Can you do Konami style music, similiar to Contra?

  • I get a little nitpicky when I know something isn't made within the NES's limitations *coughTouhouRockgirlArrangecough* but I can barely tell that you haven't used Chipsounds for this one. Nice work Kev!

Anyway, I wanna hear some more NES-style tunes since you haven't done that many of them recently with all the orchestral sample business. Also, I wouldn't mind hearing MM6 songs in the MM7 style.

  • Why would anybody come to Vegas during the summer? I don't have a choice; I live here.

Also welcome back; you should do music in the style of Hiroki Kikuta (ala Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Koudelka, if for some reason you're not familiar.

Or you know work on your own individual style.

  • Reminds of Mega Man X for some reason.

  • man this song works well with my water man, ruler of the water and seas

  • Ninja Gaiden or Mario.

  • I always wanted to hear a song using organic sounding instruments instead of video game sounds, if you catch my drift xD

Your rpg songs sounded awesome, maybe you could try different genres of music with organic instruments. just pitchin ideas, either way your songs would probably sound the best lol

  • Needs more Battletoads, or Earthworm Jim, or Aero the Acrobat.

But that's just me thinking out loud.

  • I sense some pump man at some parts :D!

  • Heh, this theme almost sounds like it could be used for either a water-based stage, electric-based stage or a sky-themed stage.

  • I like this, IMO it definitely fits a grass stage. Reminds me of Hornet Man and Plant Man's themes.

As for requests, I like the stuff you did with earthbound samples :)

  • meh not your best but good job!

  • I'd like to hear a semi-abstract theme, with full instrumentation, but slow and echoey. Just a thought, 'cause I haven't seen many 'abstract' 8-bit themes.

  • mexican babies.

  • Because I'm delirious and can't think of anything else, Toejam and Earl.

  • Great theme. I can see it fitting some sort of electricity stage.

It would be cool to hear some Castlevania-style songs.

  • 1st view.
