  • Just the sound of the car gives me a bonner....

  • that is a great car. it sounds excellent and looks like it rides smooth. i am only 13 but when i older i plan on getting a 1970 dodge challenger on my own. i understand it will kill me in gas money but hey, its my favorite car of all time

  • peace out ferrari

  • good video great sound, what else do you expect from a HEMI, this make me go back to work to my baby : a 1968 barracuda , not even a freacking escalade get more complements than a classic MOPAR, and still 80% work.

  • Wow... Best video I have seen in years!!! Makes me miss my '70 R/T :-(

  • mph or kph? it doesnt look like you're going that fast.... but maybe its because i've never gone that fast? hahaha

  • @beilsteinjustin MPH, this car has a 4-speed with tall gearing and makes over 800 horsepower/torque with a mild cam and 10.5 to 1 compression....also has a nice body kit giving the car pretty good downforce to help handling/braking. See how it pulls on the Ferrari at 5:45? That's 160 mph in third gear lol still another gear to go

  • Proof that three-hundred grand more doesn't pay off.

  • what year hemi car and model

  • @bradleynail It's a 1970 or 1971 challenger with racing aerodynamics/slicks and a 426 hemi bored and stroked to 572 cubes. In this video it was running a mild cam and 10.5 to 1 compression....i'd also like to point out that he was doing 160 in third gear :)))

  • Oh what a sight you must a been comin up in his rear view. couldn't beleave the line he took right before you past him what a road hog!

  • Oh what a sight you must a been comin up in his rear view. couldn't beleave the line he took right before you past him what road hog!

  • 5.45... FUCK YEAH

  • that is a verry nice car indeed weldone guys classics beating race cars ftw:) (for the win)

  • Would be a great video but that one car wouldn't get outta the way!! LOL

  • It is a 426 Hemi bored and stroked to 572CID. In this event , it was a 10.5 to 1 compression with a mild street cam. The Ferrari was a prototype, state of the art racer built to the rules limits some years ago.

  • @glennbunch so do you have a A727 in this beast or what?

  • Nicely run.

Is that a 426 Hemi in there & which model Ferrari was it on the track?

  • That car was running fine. What do you expect from a heavy car like that powered by a small block? Torque is the name of the game and a big Hemi has tons of it. Thanks for posting a good comment.

  • @glennbunch

Its not a small black, a dodge hemi is a 426 big block

  • Wow, Rusty Wallace must have been off his game that day.

  • The telemetry is handled by a Traqmate system which controls a Chase Cam.

  • well this is proof to all the ricer fans that contrary to those dip shit racing video games american muscle cars can indeed handle quite well!!!

  • What is the telemetry used for this vid. I have a couple of race cams and i am looking for a good tele screen that will show the speed, rpm, pedal possition, and G forces.

  • Ferraris and shit but hoes and tricks

  • хотел бы я посмотреть на этот челенджер)

  • Simply Amazing. you truly have gas in your veins :) *****

  • Is there a way i can get this audio track as a ring tone???

  • Respond to this video... I do not know how to do that. If I can help you , let me know.

  • @glennbunch Haha I actually figured it out. I set it as a ringtone and an alarm tone. Now I wake up to the most beautiful sound. And yes I know I sound a little crazy...

  • @V8merc124 That's great! I am going to have to get mine done too. Thanks for the idea.

  • @V8merc124 yes.get you tube downloader from google and then download the track convert it to mp3 (default is mp4) and set it as your ringtone.cheers

  • WoW! This is incredible!

You've got a Brazilian fan! Many thanks to share this!

If Chrysler could help you, it could be possible to this car be a serious porsche killer!

  • @akamatsu50 It already is a Porsche killer!! We will have more posts next summer. Thanks for posting.

  • @glennbunch My favorite Youtube vid by far. kudo's, and good luck. Any T shirts for sale?

  • WoW! This is incredible!

You've got a Brazilian fan! Many thanks to share this!

If Chrysler could help you, it could be possible to this car be a serious porsche killer!

  • nice nice cars and wonderful hemi sound i love dodge...

  • went to ur web page and my jaw dropped out on the floor awsome! when will u be coming to vir again I have got too see u in action.I wished there were more of u around, people forget where the mighty hemi came from they did good in drag racing but even better in nascar.Your my new hero and u have a awsome machine on ur hands and I love it!

  • @572blownhemi You have it about right. There is no better driving than with a mighty right foot and the big Hemi has it! We will run at VIR next June and July at the 2011 UTCC event again. Looking forward to meeting you there.

  • esse ai é loco!!!

  • holy shit does that thing ever take off!

  • awesome driver awesome mopar sound

  • Very exciting to watch...run Ferrari run...but you cannot hide from the elephant. It is like watching a predator eagle chasing a wounded pidgeon. The sound of that engine vs the whine of the Ferrari. :) Poor little VW Porcshe at the end :(

    -'70 Coronet owner.

  • @captmack007 Step up to the world stage and then profane your words to a laughing crowd. I agree. It once was and could be again. It will take a UNITED STATES of AMERICA to do it again!

  • If you dont mind me asking, what are the specs on the 426 Hemi? Cam specs, carb/s, compression etc. And are all of these period correct and what are the horsepower numbers. You can message me privately if you dont want it on here. Also whats the RPM limit?

  • @Boredout454 bigger than 426 i reckon,be easy 850 hp

  • dam i have never seen a muscle car handle like that:) i want to make mine like that!

  • Yeah your car is very fast etc. but it wouldnt go anywhere without your driving,, Awesomely smooth dude my hats off to you,,,WOW!!!!

  • I read some of the posts below .. The post about a father with cancer. I can't say a word without pause on that issue .. God bless him ..

I grew up in the hemi business,, by accident .... My Dad owned a small grocery store.

Next door was a Plymouth dealer. My Dad's best customer was a hotel next door on the other side. The guy that owned the hotel, also owned the Dodge dealership across town ...

I saw a lot of hemi's at lunch time.. Watching this made me cry.

  • better looks and sound..u.s muscle rules ,always has always will

  • Glenn,

Was that the Spice/Ferrari of John Morton that you passed? If it is, that car is wicked fast and your car must be too. Over 160 on the back stretch at Mid-Ohio is phenomenal. I wish you were there today at the SVRA race.

  • @james6speed Yes, that is the car. It has a Ferrari engine built to what ever specs the rules allowed at the time. It is a marvelous race car too!! I never could afford a high tech factory car of any kind. Thats why I built the Dodge and took all the power I could get with Cubic Inches!!

  • weee forza 3 j.k j.k

  • Great Sound and Unreal Acceleration.

  • Real nice car you have, and you are an impressive driver. But i cant find the Ferrari? If its the red sports car that you are chasing for a while, Isent that an Ultima GTR & even a Radical maby? Dont look like any Ferrari i know of (Not saying i know them all tho :P ) //

  • @BadNews031 I believe that is a Spice chassis. It was used in the late 80's in road racing. They put whatever kind of engine the builder wanted to. I can only guess on that though.

  • Not much oversteer for 800+hp, nice driving!...and nice car!

  • I'm a newbie on Youtube, but a Mopar guy all my life. I want to find a way to subscribe, and I love the vid. I had a 440+6, 4 sp., Road Runner in "82 to "85, with a roller cam, headers, and porting, some susp. mods, etc., and I don't say it would hang with this car, but the vid sure makes the hair on my neck stand up...the Sound, the SOUND.......I wanna see this car....

  • holy shit jesus loves muscle cars even if its modified theres a huge age difference and it beat a fucking FERRARI ahhhhh i luv AMERICAN MUSCLE

  • Nice, HOT ROD. A stock Challenger vs. A stock Ferrari, it would get raped. Not that their anything wrong with hot rods, but don't go saying Muscle cars are better just because you can modify it as much as you want. If you wanted, you can modify a ferrari to be MUCH MUCH better. Of course, I must admit, it is more expensive

  • HELL YESS!! so let's recap here... Dodge Challenger 1, ferrari ZERO!

  • Nice car and wonderful sound! So, you are a great driver too!

  • I OWN a Ferrari and no matter what the make, even other supercar owners seem to envy us Ferrari owners. Personaly, however, I've always wanted a 426 Hemi. Watching this video makes me both envious and proud to be an American--where torque is king!

  • That actually WAS better than sex!!

  • 5:54 fuck ya

  • man you rock!!! the plastic overrated ferrari had no chance

  • ..oohh...godddd that Charger just slowly sneaked up on it like a huge ass shark.

  • even though the ferrari had its motor on the back, the driver in the in the ferrari was probably shitting his pants when he heard the challenger right behind his ass, haha

  • STOMPED HIS DICK IN THE DIRT AND KICKED IT AROUND!! awesome vid!!!!

  • damn porsches....like flies.

i just might make that motor my new ringtone...

  • Comment removed

  • Now THATS how you drive a Challenger

  • TenStarsplus !!!!!! Hemis RULE!!! I had a 1967 GTX and I went over the double ton a couple of times217mph to be exact !!! Scary?Yes but it sure was fun!!! Wtsh I still had it it would be worth enough to buy 2-3 Ferraris today because they only built 9 convertible automatic 426 hemis and I was lucky enough to own one but didn't know how rare it was until years later!!! Thanks for posting this video!!!!

  • awesome

  • Dang he's mad close to a 160 mph at times!

  • Glenn,

My father, who is a very skilled Mopar engine builder, is really uplifted by watching these vids. He is very sick with cancer, and your machines and skills have put smiles on his face. Thanks again, Glenn!

  • Tell him the popping noise in the video was caused by a crack in each header behind the collector. It was hard to find . I wish him a speedy recovery and may God bless.

  • One of the best video's on youtube. The sound is just great. Almost sounds like the chase scene from bullit !! Totally cool !!

  • Glenn,

From one huge Mopar head to another, thanks for this INCREDIBLE machine. This is one genius stroke of engine, body, and chassis engineering. To make my day, all I have to do is bring up these vids!

  • That is why I started this video collection. I always get a kick out of watching them and they allow others to realize just how fast the old girl really is. Thanks for posting.

  • I wonder how many horses this Mopar has? 700? 1,000?

  • Somewhere around 850 at 6000RPM. It makes 600 foot pounds of torque at the rear wheels at 3000 RPM and more at 5000RPM. You cant spin these long stroke motors very high for long, as everything gets stressed out and cranks break. This is actually a stock replacement head, mild cam, 11 to 1 super stock street motor.

  • Im wet

  • ferrari got owned ahaha

    Muscle baby!!

  • it was difference in skill.

is not about the car,it's the driver.

any car can be good if u drive it good.

  • Practice footage, not RACE

  • Hypnotic video! Old muscle cars are the best!

  • Hemi Challanger BAD ASS CAR.

  • That's the best sound ever... Mopar or no car

  • bad ass hami

  • did anyone see that wierd looking cloud in the sky?

  • Is not a Ferrari.

  • Bravo!Very good draving end super sound!

  • Very cool.

  • just goes to show you can't beat a mopar. even on a track.

  • Cute video game.!

  • woooow,

    5.45. acceleration incredible.

  • what a nice pair of Fiats

  • I think the driver was just 10x better than the Ferarri driver, but it's still a great car

  • So domestic haters, muscle cars can't handle? Apparently they can outdo a Ferrari that has a forty year advantage, and supposedly Ferraris are excellent at the track. Eat your words!

  • Win comment sir!

  • Ahhhh, sir you couldn't have said it better!

  • @NFSGamerUSA

    Agreed!!!!

  • @NFSGamerUSA Yeah, as a Ferrari owner, I was surprised to see the Dodge hug him and then pass. Granted the Ferrari driver was not the best, but that takes NOTHING away from the Hemi. It's the bees knees.

  • @Icriedtoday Bunch is certainly a much better driver, and the only reason the Ferrari was ahead for so long was because the Ferrari driver kept blocking him, IN THE CORNERS (of all places), like an asshole. So yeah, driver skill was certainly the biggest factor in this situation, though the Challenger did seem to be faster, anyway. It's still a nice video to prod at the ignorant, snobby exotic car buffs (not true car enthusiasts like you) or anyone else who thinks Americans can't build cars. :D

  • @NFSGamerUSA This car is no longer a Dodge Challenger. It's a totally different beast that just LOOKS like a Challenger. This says nothing about Dodge quality.

In stock form, a 1970 Challenger was a pig that couldn't corner and ran the 1/4 mile in 14.0 seconds. That's barely faster than a modern V6 Camry.

Stock for stock any Ferrari will rape any Dodge around a track.

  • @demoskunk Nope, I'm pretty damn sure this is a modified Challenger. Where was quality ever mentioned? A modern Ferrari would beat a muscle car? Really? I never would've guessed! I mean, seriously? NO SHIT, SHERLOCK! To bring a muscle car to the level of this one is quite an achievement, ESPECIALLY since it's able to beat a dedicated Ferrari race car.

P.S. I take it you haven't heard of the Viper ACR. Look into it, or better yet the ACR-X. Kthxbai!

  • @NFSGamerUSA I was referring to how a lot of people are acting like this is a stock Challenger that beat a Ferrari, so "American Muscle rules!" I love the style of classic muscle cars, but their performance is SO overrated by delusional fanboys.

And this car shares little in common with a Challenger, so people should be saying; "Man that mechanic rules!" Not; "Mopar make the best sportscars!" 'Cause THAT ain't true.

And, yeah, the ACR is the definition of "Beast", but good luck controlling it.

  • @demoskunk You'd have to be an idiot to think this Challenger is anywhere close to stock, but there are lots of idiots. This isn't a stock car with decals to make it look remotely like a production car, this was built out of a real Challenger. Save for suspension improvements (understatement) and a much beefed up drivetrain, it's made of real Challenger parts.

The ACR has a 49/51 weight balance and will pull about 1.1g; if you know how to control the throttle, it'd be pretty easy to control.

  • @demoskunk the ACR was made to be a track car. It was made for real drivers. Drivers that don't need a ravish interior, or ABS brakes.

A driver that has no problem controlling it. Trust me, when a real driver gets behind the wheel it has no problem beating exotics and setting track records

  • @NFSGamerUSA

Customized car with a good driver vs. a very shitty driver?

That Ferrari is probably a 100 times faster round the track. It's a pure racing car.

Doesn't take anything away from this killer Dodge with a fantastic motor and sound, but car vs. car the Ferrari is most likely still the faster machine.

You know, being a racing car and all...

  • @WindmillStalker Bunch pulled him not only on the straights, but also in the corners. Sure, it wasn't driven to its full potential but "100 times faster" (ROFL) isn't going to happen. BTW, "customized car" is quite an understatement when you're talking about a muscle car that was originally a pig designed solely for going in a straight line and now gobbles up dedicated Ferrari race cars.

  • @NFSGamerUSA

Gobbles up a dedicated race car with a very shitty driver.

There's no way a heavily customized muscle car will ever be on par with a well driven racer. There's just no way. To say it does is just your american muscle car fantasy. The bloke in the Fezza is taking it very very easy, whereas the Dodge man clearly isn't sparing the tires.

  • @WindmillStalker Bahahaha! "American muscle car fantasy?!?" Sorry, that's quite incorrect; I'm a car enthusiast that admires all types of cars (not some stuck up exotic car asshole), and I can appreciate when a purpose-built race car is beat by a car never meant for the track in the first place. The guy in the Ferrari was being pretty aggressive, just look at how much blocking he did in attempt to prevent his humiliation.

  • @NFSGamerUSA

You must be having problems with your eyes because the racing car is being very poorly driven. Probably mostly because the guy in it doesn't want to crash a very expensive racing machine.

If you really think a relatively normal car (though this Challenger is obviously tuned like a beast) can beat an actual racing car (lightweight, downforce, etc), all other factors being equal, then you sir, are delusional.

  • @NFSGamerUSA Lol. I'm not even hearing the tires on the Challenger squeal. Ever. M-a-c-h-i-n-e! :) Thanks, Glenn.

  • @NFSGamerUSA A forty year advantage?

  • @vwertigo Alright, maybe thirty. I'm referring to technical advantage. A modern race car has a HUGE advantage over anything from the 1960s or 1970s.

  • @NFSGamerUSA Oh yeah, I forgot dodge made tube chasis'.

  • @josh2009s Because that's oh-so-much superior to a Ferrari designed as a pure race car to begin with.

  • @NFSGamerUSA That's sarcasm. I doubt there is any OEM Dodge Challenger parts on this race car. LOL

  • @josh2009s I knew what you meant. Regardless, the design of this car is still at a couple decades' disadvantage to that Ferrari (read: much larger budget and much more experience) designed and built race car.

  • @NFSGamerUSA dude im a huge fan of american muscle, but if we were racing todays charger, itd loose :( dont make em like they use to

  • I remember reading a book on Richard Petty, and richard had just turned off the car after testing the Hemi for the first time.He turned to the mechanic and said, man every time I jump on it ,that thing sounds like its going to suck the hood down the carberator! Now I understand.

  • Bring your street car to a Track Dazes or Chin Motorsports event and you can drive at VIR or many other great tracks for the weekend. Check their websites for details.

  • Excellent vid, car, and sound!!!!

  • AWESOME ! ! !

    love that sound!

  • Best video on the whole of the inter-nets (except for the really hot chick with the big tits)!!!

Better than porn (or is this porn?).

  • Reminds me of the Trans Am racing Series Challengers and 'Cudas

  • Damn that's Awesome!!! I love it lol...

  • that ferrari knew he was a goner no way he could beat a challenger!

  • Awesome!

  • Goddiggety-Damn! Best muscle sound I've heard so far - like a.. a... 3,000lb house cat purring after a meal & rub :=]

  • haha agreed. the challenger is a great dragster, and now apparently a great racer! I LOVE CHALLENGERS!!!

  • Yeah, kinda throws the whole "muscle cars can only go fast in a straight line" idea out the window

  • goddamn I love watching this video. Always brings a smile to my face.

  • old school hemi has the best sound on earth. love the car, though when i saw the title i was hoping it would be a street-legal challenger with a mostly stock body. still a great car though, and fast as hell.

  • oh shit! dis car iz crazy! luv it

  • MUSCLE CARS FOREVEERRR !!!!!!

i wanna drive the old route 66 with this dodge <3

  • omgggg thatttt SOUND is craaazy i love it!!! wooaah (*O*) !!!!!!

  • Just bought my own '70 Ray Barton Hemi Challenger. We obviously got good taste

  • Yep, Ray and his boys run a good shop. I hope you have lots of fun with your Hemi too.

  • to be honest im in no way a dodge fan (i bleed blue), but what you have done to this car is awesome and inspiring to do with a real muscle car. im so sick of hearing these "tuners" say muscle can handle. sure looks like your proving them wrong even if it is a dodge lol

  • which game is it ?

  • This is in a real race car with only one camera, not a game. The gauges are in the Traqmate software package based on engine RPM and GPS location.

Check out the 2009 videos for some faster laps.

  • ohh okay .. sry ^^

it looks like a game :)

  • Damn you're dumb

  • wow listen to that roar

  • c'est de la bombe !!!!!

    j'adore ce son HEMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII !!

  • that motor is why God allowed us to have muscle cars :0.

  • just goes to show ya muscle cars can handle too :P

  • for the expert muscle drivers, handling isn't even a factor lol. ya challenger rules.

  • interseting back story about that car. click the link in the description.

man this thing sounds sick, love it when he finally gets the room to pass and punches it

  • That thing sounds like a snarling man eating beast.lol

  • You really think that this clip is some videogame??? It´s real life, not a game!!! Only because you see those two gauges, doesn´t mean it´s game!!! There is a camera top of the dashboard.

  • its not cuz of the gauges, its because at first i was watching it without sound, it looks just like a clip from forza 3 or somthin, it looks alot like a game

  • ok so why don't show the real gauges ???? that another american b.s lol

  • youre an idiot.

  • There's no replacement for displacement

  • The challenger didn't take any corners at 20. The slowest corner he took was at 53.

  • all in the driving. put a killer driver in that ferrari and see ya. What you guys don't know is the ferrari's driver is actually the 17 year old son of the owner of the car out practicing on saturday afternoon, lol

  • only if the classic had the handeling of a ferrari. itd be able to take those turns goin 60 instead of 20 mph.

  • very nice driving sir !!

  • is that an FXX????if it is,trust me this video is not for real...

  • troll

  • troll is right that its painfully obvious thats not an fxx

  • I don't see what it matters dude. It's a Pony car passing up an "Italian stallion". Guess those Ferraries weren't as wild as they thought.

  • adios amigo XD

  • wow that looks like a video game.

  • Excellent!! Love that Hemi!!

  • The sound is Honey to ears!

  • What game is this?

  • ..this is real life.

  • Never heard of that one. Looks good.
