If they want to cut the defecit I have a a few ideas. End all wars they are doing nothing except getting innocent soldiers killed. Close all bases around the world and quit sticking our noses into other peoples business. When a hurricane it us like Katrina no country helps us but when Haiti had that earthquake we sent them bribe money not aid money. Lastly apply all the money that the cia makes from the fake war on drugs which is probably trillions and the defecit is gone.

Living wage (in the form of higher minimum wage) would not encourage employers to hire so that doesn't work. Extending unemployment raises the reservation wage meaning people don't try to go back to work. That is according to the President's economic advisor.

The suggestions are actually the ones that make sense economically. Then again we don't require you to understand to be elected.

I am not a progressive, however I do agree with this woman on THIS issue. The wealthy and other business owners simply will not create jobs to stimulate the economy. They will not let the wealth trickle down. So the only option is to give low and middle income people more spending power. Give them tax relief, extend the benefits.

In fact, restructure ALL tax rates and brackets. Make them more complex, not more simple as the Republicans advocate. That will stimulate the economy.

So her answer is to "create jobs" Without understand what a job and thus how to actually create one.  Likely, have government spend more and create a job. A job is someone fulfilling a need of another through an agreed upon wage.

You can guess what others need but it's never accurate compared to what they would ask for themselves.

the worst at current rates predicts a totla debt of 24 trilion dollars!

It's just so tiring to keep hearing how the solution to our economic woes lies in our ability to get consumers consuming and spending again.. what kind of dunderhead does one have to be to believe this? It is about people SAVING which allows our nation to then use its RESERVES to grow and expand.. but you can't ask or expect people to save in FIAT dollars b/c they lose their wealth over time through inflation/debasement of those fiat notes. @roseagain2 You missing the point, I'm asking you how you could maintain such a system, your believes have two possible outcomes, Either gov has no power of finances which means that monopolies will occur naturally given them disproportionate power over everyone else, or gov can regulate in which case theres nothing to stop the wealthy from buying the political class to pass laws in their interest.
