You're great. I especially like your Bach, (too!). Nevermind senseless remarks from such as this jmarko- character. He's not even worth the time of day. You are a phenomenal pianist. Keep it up.
Josh, I didn't know you played piano - spectacular! How about a video of you singing - your voice is just as incredible and has been a highlight of worship experiences for me when at the Beatitudes...... Deanne
The first half is brilliant - so liquid and disciplined as to be astonishing. The second half is a little less perfect, the bass notes being a little too dominant and the runs a little too murky in their execution. Still, this is a pianist whose recordings I will look for in the future. He reminds me of Julien Duchoud, whose passionate renderings of Scriabin I also admire.
Though I must add after listening to your video in its entirety that certain areas 2:07 leading up to the climax and including it was kind of messy. But I can understand that at the heat of competition how you can lose it.
This allegro agitato, one of the most chromatic in Rach's output, requires so much strength and stamina -you handled its difficulties wonderfully. A thrilling performance.
Brilliant hechnique! This pianist can play whatever he wants. However, the main theme is played a little too fast for my taste. But that's just me. He's great! "Hats off, Gentlemen! A Genius!
@jhpianist Thank you so much! It's irritating how people don't appreciate real music anymore....
