Forget my last comment, i found out how to know wot bootrom u have, on ur iphone, go to settings>general>about, check ur serial number, if the 3rd,4th and 5th digits are 940 or higher its new bootrom, if its below, its old bootrom

if you have a gs3 and get any 16xx errors you will not be able to fix this... ireb does not support 3gs. you will then have to upgrade to apples 3.1.3 and your iphone will become locked

Edverett is right. If you have like me(and read now)..iPhone 3gs 3.1.3 (7E18) MC WITH firmware 05.12.01 and new bootroom you CAN NOT JAILBREAK!! Not yet atleast. Many asking about "bootroom"...I`m not an expert,but what i can understand is you get to know if you have old one or new if you look at your serial nr. I have xxx40(x stands for not telling) 40 stand for the week the phone was made.If you have 39 in your serial then you probably have old bootroom.

I'm in the same boat as caforever25. My build date is under 40, it's an MB (non-MC), modem is 05.12.01. I do have 3.13 on there. I followed the directions exactly and it gets stuck on the itunes and usb screen. I'm able to restore so the phone is not a brick, but I can't seem to jailbrake it. I'ts never been jailbroken. this work only for 3gs phone for old bootrom. He already said it. The unique way to jailbreak is to downgrade the firmware for 3.1.3 to 3.1.2. But this solution don't allow you to unlock your iphone.
