@Studmeister17 The show WAS recorded on an Ampex 200b, I was one of the recording engineers. Its was recorded in Studio-5 at Metromedia studios (channel-5) It was shot in the same studio as the 10 o'clock News, Wonderama, David Suskind, and sports extra was in. At the time Henson associates had an office next door to Channel-5. So Yeah, I was there.

@rty1955 So what exactly does a recording engineer do? Did you get to associate with the puppeteers at all? Or did you just supervise the filming and stuff?

@Studmeister17 I was responsible for the proper recording of each segment onto video tape. Recording back then was a very technical craft. during long breaks I could go down to the studio and mingle with other crew, talent, puppeteers, etc. Take a peek at youtube video on an ampex 2000b video tape machine and you will see what I worked on. I would inform the director over the intercom, if the segment was usable for broadcast, then he can proceed to next segment
