Hi & thanks for the video. I'll try to make one too. I have bears & I will use a small 250 electric fence controller, 14 w. It costs $15 & you must have one if bears are a threat. Hey! your pants were black. Wear white only. I am a new beekeeper. It's an expensive hobby. I plan to use a painter's coverall. Plastic foundations for honey supers are definitely the way to go. I get my "girls" on 4/29/2011. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR HIVES. Document everything. Take notes on what to do & plan inspections!
yet to master the smoker is right never EVER smoke them and close the hive they die if you do it to much trust me from experience lost a beautiful super by that
@m16rds1 we use home made essential oil-sugar spray that we write about on our website, put it in a spray bottle and when you open up the hive, spray the bees. it calms them down. thx, eric.
I dont know much about bee keeping, but something tells me that the bees are surely gonna get angry and sting if you bang on the hive. You did it at 5.19 and they immediately stung you. You hit a frame with that tool to push it back in. You wouldnt like it either if some giant with a funny hat would bang on your house

@stonewow101 thx. plastic foundation in wood frames works for us in the honey supers. we have wired wax foundation in the brood supers.

great movie , helped alot my bees are getting aggressive like that soon after i open them up the supers , did u learn anything else to calm them

I would love to have bees, but I'm allergic. We've been buying our honey from the Amish. It's unprocessed and so clean. Good luck with your bees!

thx. we're learning as we go here. i helped my neighbor with his bees today and did not get stung. i wore light pants and boots.
