  • I bought one video from the site and was very pleased. I bought the Alex Lifeson of Rush teaching "Limelight" by Rush. I figured if Alex tells me this is how the song is played, that's how its played, because he played it on the the original. They also have "Tom Sayer" and 'Spirit of Radio". I buying them for myself for Christmas.

  • @pschroeter1 How did it go? You going on tour with them...? :-) Best wishes,

  • A commercial for paid lessons on a website that has 10,000 free lessons. Smooth!

  • @binkinater Since it was recorded on Santana's album and featured Rob Thomas.

  • * note its 'Paul Reed Smith', not red smith...

  • coolio

  • paul red smith is santanas model

  • carlos has played most types of guitar over the years..and they all have that creamy humbucker sound... love it

  • what guitar is that ??

  • That's PRS (Paul Red Smith)

  • this guy has it right, if you listen to the song the first lick has only one hammer on and a slide (i.e. hammer 7-9 slide 8-10) not hammer 12-14 on on the d string then hammer again 12-14 on the g string. either way you can still do the slide but look at santana play it, he is no were near 12... and the next lick will stay in position for this... and you stupid ass fuckers that say that its the wrong key they are the same damn notes played on different strings!!!

  • its a PRS guitar..hehe

  • for god sakes, its a PREVIEW!

  • what kind of amp do u use and what effects do u use?

  • PREVIEW,OR TEASER?

  • Why do you idiots keep bickering about what frets to play at like a bunch of amateurs? If you guys knew music you wouldn't have to say things like "7th fret D string" and "12 fret G string", because you would know that those are A and G notes respectively. Who cares where they play it as long as it's in the same octave?

  • i dissagree too i play it virtually the same but on the twelth fret !!

  • I totaly dissagree with the video. for me the best way to get this done is First three notes of phrase 1. start at the D on 12th freth string 4 hammer to E same string fret 14 strike string 3 fret 12 Second three notes in phrase 1 back to the E on string 4 fret 14 strike string 3 fret 12 hammer on to string 3 fret 14 Now stick them together.
  • If you're going to spend that much money on a guitar, go for a Suhr, Tyler or Anderson.

PRSs are great quality, but impossible to get character out of in my experience.

  • Yeah, why would you want to play the guitar Santana plays to demonstrate a Santana song? You're "supernaturally" retarded. Yay puns!

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • a prs swamp ash

  • this is horrible it doesnt teack you how 2 play the song

  • thats because it says preview lesson dumbass. Learn to read things before you start flaming

  • nobody comment here unless your actually gonna talk about the song.

  • mechaghostman2 eats moist rabbit scrotum

  • yeah it's the guitar from the song in the background that plays the cool shit guess when the shitty lessoner played it would sound like earbleeding crap.

  • no santana is the guitarist not the band

  • whooaaa.. how come u upload the video with that name "santana".. it'll dirt tha name of the great artist.

  • the band is called santana

  • It is still using the same notes.

  • i do it down at the 12 fret :) but your ways cool too

  • What kind of scales does Santana use?

  • Everyone uses pentatonic minor, but I'm sure he uses minor and major scales too

  • blues penatonic i think

  • In this song he uses an A Harmonic Minor feel. The G# in that scale really brings out the sound of this tune.

  • he use pentatonic and modes such as dorian and mixolydian

  • Cool. Thanks again.

  • Thanks for your comment - and for speaking up.

  • WHAT!

  • What a stupid looser charging people for songs ... When someone can find loads of free videos better than yours...

  • ok where's the rest of the song? that was an exellent beginning!

  • Do you happen to have the music sheet to this song, 'Smooth' Thanks

  • He gets them from a custom shop down in maryland. I forget what its called.

  • Last time I checked they were custom made Paul Reed Smith guitars that he plays. He has his own line of "Santana II" that is very rarely produced for the consumer market.

  • this is not how he plays it on the vid its 4th string 12h14 3rd srting 12 4th string 14 3rd string 12h14 then vibrato

  • where to get santanas signature guitars?
