I cannot stand the whole scene crowd. Visual Kei is a whole lot more appealing because of the fact that most of the Visual Kei people actually look awesome. To be honest that scene,emo and visual kei thing is growing closer. And lots of people who are saying that they are totally different are wrong. Modern visual kei looks more emo and scene. When you go back to the 70s,80s or 90s you will see big differences between the visual kei bands that are now popular and the ones that were popular back then. And isn't it better if we just accept eachothers differences?

it gets pretty annoying when scene/ emo kids say that they have "anime hair" the stupidity... some anime/ manga characters wear a certain fashion (lolita or j-rock/vk etc.) and then they try to imitate it--thinking its cute or "cool" not even knowing what its really called. They better know where the fashion came from---then they don't embarrass themselves.

ok so i understand the hair and hair clips are alike, but compare the clothing, both styles do believe in having over tesed spikey/poofy hair yeah. but compare the clothing. scene clothing= skinny jeans/pants, tee shirts,sun dresses. V.K alot more glam. leather,masks,and alot of darkness. now i would understand if you said scene was a less wild decora, but i do not see alot alike between scene and Vk besides wild hair. i do how ever like Visual Kei better.

I find scene to be messy and chaotic with their style choices, and their make-up to be muddy. VK seems to be a little more refined, with purpose to their pieces, and serious effort put into their hair and make-up. If its heavy make-up on a scene, it looks a little unbearable; in VK, if its heavy, or smeared across their face, it always seems like professional work. I have nothing against scene, or emo, I just wouldn't wear the style.

@xxVampireZeldaxx I have never worn either style (yet). Though I was basing my assessment on what the video had shown. I think the most far-out picture from each was the red mask suit (from Kei) and the girl with the multi-coloured stripe extensions and various colour blobs all over her (scene). The red mask suit, while over the top, still seems to have a visual flow to it, like it was well made and fit the image. The girl looked like she was trying to hard to be a rainbow.

One thing I wanna point out is that if you like the visual kei style and you try to dress in that way (and your not asian) most people think you are going for a scene look.

The only real difference in my opinion is that Visual Kei is more edgy than Scene. Scenesters are more of an evolved little kid xD I actual love the sound of that. And before anyone replies to me saying I must be a naive scenester, I'm just me. I wear what I like. If I must categorize my style, my style is ever changing. One day I'll be an edgy prep, the next 'scene', and the day after I'll lean towards visual kei. Simple as that.
