Medicare is socializes medicine, and is going bankrupt, run by government bureaucrats. We now have the government owned insurance,AIG.Government owned auto company General Motors. So do we have a new definition for socialism? For the record its former President Reagan. Enjoy watching one sided coverage of an issue.

Could you imagine going to medical school for ten years and go into a crazy amount of debt then the Gov't takes over healthcare and tell's you how much you can charge people???

are you serious i live in the UK and we have a system called the NHS (National Health Service) and doctors get a monthly salary which is a healthy salary which amounts to around $100,000 a year in america umm being a doctor in the UK isnt about profits or running a buisness its just about serving the people and helping greatly. by having the NHS our health care has improved greatly from befor when we didnt have it. i suggest that all americans look up the NHS and other such health cares.

Thank you very much for this useful posting. I am so sick of these self serving greedy ppl. Ppl are over charged and end up with nothing when a crisis arises. I am for National healthcare. I am also for a better way of living. I feel that every human being on the face of the earth deserves healthcare.

We have cops over here that make twice that and they don't even need to go to college.
The quality of doctors will diminish in the US.
Well, obama promised to destroy America & he's making good on that promise.
Destroying our economy with his stupid healthcare bill and weakening our defenses around the world bowing down to russia and china.
I just pray that in 2012 we get a republican in office strong enough to reverse all the damage that's being done right now,

We should lower the quality of health care for those of us who don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it. The problem is that the AMA have total control over who can provide certified medical care, yet they have the power to charge whatever they want as well.
We always need more doctors and nurses in the U.S., but they're restricted by the AMA for the sole purpose of profit for the few doctors and nurses who are employed. I say, allow doctors and nurses to practice for lower pay.

I would hope that a doctor would go to school to help people and save lives not just for the money. Secondly, they just will have to stop buying 3 and 4 cars. The doctors in the UK are still living comfortable.

The AMA's 250,000 membership is less than a third of the 800,000 or so practicing doctors in America. AMA membership figures include medical students and retired doctors, who account for about half of AMA's members. The AMA gets at least 20 % of its budget from drug companies. The AMA has long opposed meaningful health care reform, and even opposed the creation of Medicare.

Liberals who favor this crap: Dont come whining, once you have health care denied. Dont whine when someone you know-love is sentenced to a premature death sentence by some bureaucratic committee determining which care will, and which care wont be doled out.
Dont whine when youre told 4 months before you can that MRI, or 3 months for a CT-Scan or that the hip replacement you need will be at least 3 years down the road. Dont come whining to those of us who tried to stop this.
