  • I first saw this when I was 6, I just only remember the hand of the gramma, that stuck in my mind. I always wondered what movie I saw when I was 6, then I decided to look up stephen king movies, and saw gramma, the first 5 min of the short movie and I just knew it was the one I saw when I was 6, the same feeling came over me.

  • Oh my god, I can't believe this is here. The ONLY time in my childhood that I EVER asked if I could sleep in my parents' bed was after watching this; I was so scared. I used to have a spooky hallway to walk and was scared of my grandma too.

  • what kind of tea burns the floor like acid?..

  • acid tea.

  • @Simon0 Wasn't anything wrong with the tea...it was reacting with whatever it touched that was beneath the floorboards after soaking through.

  • @frostedheart63 no its acid tea.

  • @Simon0 LOL ooookay...did you even notice that the area beneath the floorboards was like hell...and very hot? What you were seeing was steam from the liquid that had seeped beneath the boards. Sheesh...acid tea. :P

  • @MGrammatico It wasn't the tea burning the floor like acid. The "steam" was from the tea going through the small spaces in the floorboards (as the kid said in the video) and reacting with whatever is beneath the floorboards...

  • I think George here needs to make this Grandma some Marvellous Medicine.

  • My brother used to be really afraid of this episode! LOL (Georgie! Tea! Tea!) Not sure why it bothered him so much, because none of the other episodes did.

  • i loved this story. i had no idea it made it to the twilight zone! Awesome!

  • This episode scared the hell out of me as a kid. I didn't have any trouble with the others, but this one was just too much. (I don't know why.)

  • Comment removed

  • The hell with hide'n around the corner I would of ran out the house!!!!!

  • :O thats awesome

  • this grandma makes me think of the one from that king diamond album

  • Yeaaaah Japanese subtitles!!!

  • @Denzochan well all this time we watch japanese tv series (anime ;d) with english subs! its to see the opposite!

  • Very scary Lovecraftian stuff. This could have been called "The Thing in the Bed".

  • Why the hell didn't the kid just go play in the front yard or something?

  • @TheDarkestSpectre I agree with you there.

  • that granny is scary!!

  • Wooo, Harlan Ellison!

  • @JPJames612 what the hell is in that tea?!

  • i wish was their to experience the 80's too bad i was born in 95 :( lolz

  • @TheDarkregicide dude the 80s werent that great. i guess it depends what u like, but i thnk the 80s were corny.

  • @adgato75 Thats is what made the 80s great. I miss Skiing movies and evil blonde preppies.

  • dude i saw this and i wouldnt even go near my grandma for awhole year until she died

  • How dare he waste a full glass of milk like that!

  • @haywood86 And cookies!

  • I saw this when I was the age of the boy in it.... and it stayed with me for a long time.

  • @planetdarwin same here, mate :)

  • The Twilight Zone was a lot better in the 60s but this is still great

  • the bitch needs to quit her 3 pack a day habit, her voice sounds the raspinator through a cheese grater.

  • I stayed up pretty late last night and read this book for the first time. Scared the crap outta me

  • If i were Georgie i wold have said yes i'm scared to stay with grandma. Beeing truthful is the best way

  • omg i saw this on tv when i was sick and stayed home from school earlyer this year

  • Thanks for the posting this! The twilight epsiodes from the 80's are never re-broadcasted anywhere as they only air the classic series, so this is a great find. I remember being scared shitless when I saw this episode as a kid. Another good one from the 80's is " To see the Invisible Man" which is also avaiable on youtube.

  • It was on TV today, and I can honestly say that that was the most frightening thing I had ever seen in many years.

  • was this for the actual twlight zone cuz when i was younger i would watch scifi before i went to school and it was like 2007 the twilight zone was black and white 0_0

  • Comment removed

  • well then clearly the show preceded colour tv. Not a huge stretch..

  • this is the twillight zone from the 80's

  • Damn listen to grandma's voice! She *really* needs her dang tea Georgie! Gosh dang it the longer you wait the worse her voice is going to get! haha

  • If i were him i would've took off running out of that house and been long gone after i heard her screaming tea

  • I really liked this short story. It was good.

But I made it exactly :49 seconds into this before that kid's voice got to me and I wanted to stab him in the throat. And then myself in the ears. Just to be sure I never heard his voice ever again.

  • I like the original short story... It's damn more frightening than any modern horror movie :D

  • Very true indeed.

  • i read this in the skeleton crew...creepy...its a good thing my grandmother isnt anything like this old lady...lol

    love u grandma!!

  • @nomankun100 unfortunately,my gramma is even worse....XD

  • i wish the japanese subtitles were there. other than that, nicee

  • Meh, I think it's nice. I mean if ur Japanese. But Spanish subtitles would be more likely here.

I would NOT of stayed in that house!! I was 9 when I went on my 1st bike ride by myself to the store, and that's just what I would've done, screw the house! O.e This is neat though, u hear the thoughts instead of a lotta talk.

  • this is a twilight zone episode!? danggg

  • Hey isn't that the kid from the neverending story? The one that was reding the book?

  • Wow if even his mother is afraid of her why the fuck would she leave her 11 year old son whos clearly scared of her, with her?

  • Reminds me a lot of what they had in Pet Sematary. The wife's parents left her alone with her disabled, nutcase sister.

  • O yeah I remember that.

  • @freeofgreed This is based on a Stephen King story.

One of the common elements in these stories is that the adults either don't really care about the kids, are callous about the kids, or allow their "loved ones" into unsafe situations.

The kids (or the spouses) are then stuck fending for themselves.

  • @freeofgreed Because that's the way the story was written....lol

  • @freeofgreed He was clearly an offering.

Parents - "We have a known satanic grandmother who we all fear and wish she would die ASAP. Lets leave our 11 year old alone with her evil, bed-ridden, half-dead self. What could go wrong? Plus, we save money on actual professional adult care."

I hope in the following years, he unleashed some serious shiznit upon his mother.

  • @freeofgreed Would you rather watch him just hang out with mom all day?

  • @matlheu True that would make the story less interesting, but atleast it would make sense. A story can be both scary and logical. The fact that there is a plothole like this really takes away from it.

  • i love stephen king's work, most of his books are really good,

  • I've been looking for this episode! This came out when I was 3 yrs old. I remember hiding behind my parents' couch 'cause I was suppose to be in bed. I came in at the part where he first sees the gramma... and I SCREAMED! My dad just couln't calm me down. I screamed,"the pickle lady's gonna get me!" So to comfort me, he got a pickle out of the fridge, drew a face on it with permanent marker... a happy face. He told me that I shouldn't be scared anymore, cause she's just a pickle! I love my dad!

  • Harlan Ellison is playing the voice of the father.

  • yay japanese subs =]

  • 4:54-5:01 his soul went in that room.

  • i did'n understand! what exactly happened?

  • His grandmother turns out to be a witch, which was the reason she was expelled from church. When she dies, her mind takes over the boy's body, so she will live on in his body turning him into a warlock.

(in the short story from the book by Stephen King the ending is the same, except he thinks about hurting people and how he will kill them)

  • Rate And Comment!!

  • Why is the boy scared?

  • idk but the old lady sounded like darth vader

  • hmh oke

  • I just realized that's the boy from The NeverEnding Story.

  • i love this small town american citys, paradise in earth... read all his books

  • oh guys. i wpuld run like never beforee QQ

  • the intro sounds like the unsolved mysteries intro

  • holy shit, I saw this on tv as a kid

scared the living fuck out of me way back when

    shits laughable now though

    GET HER SOME TEA FAGGOT

  • Yeah, this episode might be pretty ridiculous... but the original Stephen King story is scary as HELL, IMHO.

  • not quite as laughable if you can get behind the idea of it

i wish stephen king still wrote just good old horror stories, though the mist fucking ruled

  • It really did, but then again it's a really old story XD. His most recent short story book is actually very good, and i'm hearing good things about Duma Key.

  • dude if my grandmother made that kind of sound i would not go to here i would fucking to out of that house

  • loool same as me :)) scarry

  • I saw this episode early this morning and it did feel like it could be in Tales from the darkside as someone mentioned.

  • DUDE it's the kid from Neverending story!

  • why are their kanji subtitles

  • That grandma is freakin hot!!

  • are u sure she is hardly amber heard

  • D/ I had no idea this short story was made into a Twilight Zone episode! It was one of King's creepier stories, so I hope this episode is cool. ^^

  • I remember watching this episode back in 1986 (and I was already 22 years old and being freaked out by it). It is a scary episode (although the shots of the gramma could have been a little better).

  • That particualr episode of "The Twilight Zone" was broadcast on Chiller TV just last week; I thought that it was one of the better episodes that they did. I especially liked it when the Shadow Man said, "I am the Shadow Man and I will never harm the person under whose bed I live". At the end he adds, "But I am a Shadow Man from under someone else's bed". Now that you mention it, some of these 80's "Twilight Zone" episodes might had worked better on "Tales from the Darkside".

  • this kid was in the neverending story I do believe

  • Noah Hathaway was the kid in The Never Ending Story.

  • actually it was Barret Oliver, the same boy that appears in this episode, he played Bastian

  • They were both in it actually. Barret Oliver was "Bastian", and Noah Hathaway was Atreyu". There, the mystery is solved!

  • Barrett Oliver was in everything in the mid 80s. I also remember him in "D.A.R.Y.L."

  • What horrible acting

  • "Georgie! Bring me my tea! Tea! bring me by tea!" One of the best lines of dialogue, if not the best line of dialogue, of a mostly mediocre version of "Twilight Zone". The main problem with some of the episodes of this version, including this episode, is that the producers went mostly for straight horror, where as the original version hosted by Rod Serling, had a moral or lesson at the end of the episode. Some of these episodes probably had Serling turning in his grave.

  • Ha! true. I think there was an episode where this kid had "The Shadow Man" living under his bed? Remember that? It's on youtube somewhere---trust me, there was NO moral lesson in that one.

Or maybe that was Tales From The Darkside.

  • is that the kid from cocoon?

  • Yep.

  • Hey, does anyone know what the movie is when theres that really jacked up kid? He's the punk from Home alone? Any one?

  • i think the film title has the words party animal or something in it

  • The good son. I think.

  • Nope. That was Elijah Wood, this is Barret Oliver.

  • Party Monster?

  • Nah, It's good son... That movie freaked me out man...

  • I want to shag granny

  • grandma's voice is bloody scary!

  • That freakin' scared me! The granny freakin' scary! I remmeber wathing this when i was a young chap!

  • i only came across it the other day, cos i spent the whole week, watching stephen king movies, but can you let me know where i can find the storm of the century in parts or in episodes please? thank you very much

  • Kay...

  • Nah, This is nowhere near as good as the book. Gramma's voice doesn't seem as scary as I'd imagine it to be.

  • damn it sounds like Darth Vader grandma :P

  • I preferred the actual story.

  • This grandma's voice is so freaking scary...

  • Now i remember this episode..The shadow going into her bedroom and as she opens her eye.Nice!!:)

That kid so much like the kid from Never ending story

  • I miss stories of his that were made "with care",does that make sense? Now its like they just want the story out there- no care is taken to even get people that can act

  • I'm confused. Where did the kid get the idea to start tearing up the floorboards?

  • Cause the tea went through it. There was something under there...

  • Fuck that! Grandma can get her own fucking tea!

  • Mah boi, bring me mah tea!!!

  • im gone
