I believe that Bobby Knight style of leading is meant for real men. Those who want to excel will appreciate his drive and passion to what he does. Who wants to celebrate a loss? Only a loser!!! He was and is a brilliant basketball mind and a disciplinarian leader that didn't worry about public opinion. That is something that we must respect.

I am sure that those who were part of any of his programs were better off at the end than they were before they started. A true leader must be candid.

Reporters tend to ask stupid questions that relate in no way to the mission of using basketball as a vehicle for teaching young people how to be accountable, strong, and tough. Bob Knight's understanding of the game goes way beyond the court. And obviously... way beyond you haters. He is a teacher, and a damn good one.

First of all, 2008-1993=15, not 18! Second, out of the 42 years he coached, only 4 men who played 4 years for Bobby, didn't graduate. That is over a 98% graduation rate for THE GENERAL!!! No other coach can say that of his/her coaching career. Read up and learn the facts (math included)!!!

As well as we should, but no other coach does say "I take care of my kids" and "I expect/demand that their academics come first". You can think whatever you want about him, but the point is that coaches/teachers get upset and have their moments. Do you, or did you play sports? Did you never have a coach/teacher "go off"? That 98% figure is flawed because it only accounts for those that actually lasted 4 years. It completely ignores the fact that a lot of players left the program to get away from him, I think it would be interesting to see what the actual graduation rate would be if you included those that left the program. I guarantee it wouldn't be 98%, even if you include those that graduated from other schools toward that graduation rate.

Knight isn't exactly a warm person, but I respect him as a coach. He's accomplished a lot and graduates his players. Granted they're graduating from tech, which isn't exactly ivy league. However, his record speaks for himself.
