The HOMM4 "Hope" soundtrack uses the same stock celtic music samples, like the beautiful fife music at the start of this trailer. They have similar musical motifs because of this commonality, but they're otherwise completely unrelated.

The music here is written by Lars Hammer (King Einstein), HOMM4 music is written by Steve Baca, Rob King and Paul Romero.

@Crownw3 Yes, they are very unrelated but it's not only HOMM4 that has this motif, Black & White 2 also has this same tune (with some minor differences of course) called the Nut Oil Song.

Of course, those are completely different musical artists. What the actual stock celtic music sample is called is my question.

I actually have an interest in musical composition, and I've been trying to track them down, to no avail. The fife work here is especially really impressive.

@Crownw3 Best of luck to you, I've been trying to find out this tune for years.

If it helps, there is another tune from HOMM4 that appears in other works.

HOMM4's song "Desolation" & "A Wise Tail" sounds very similar to B&W2's "Celtic Air", which also sounds very similar to Zanzarah in the opening and at some point in Okami as a Highlands song.

These motif's are also done by multiple artists such as Diane Arkenstone in Aquaria, Reve de Lointain by Yogitea, and juuni kokuki ost - ruika.

I'll be honest, I never finished this game because I wasn't all that into the gameplay. But the level design, character design, and soundtrack were epic. Especially for the time period.
