I'm curious about one thing that I've been trying to research (but for which I've found few results in my search) - how is the top radiused? Is the radius created by gluing the braces with the radius on them to the board, or some other way?
Thank you for sharing this.. really helped me through bracing my first steel string top! I like the theory behind the X-shape bracings... Im gonna apply that, and a mix of Cumpiano's layout as well.
Robert, thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with all of us. You're a really fantastic instructor and the amazing detail you present in these videos have filled in so many of the gaps missing in the few luthier books available.
Perfect! I like how you shape and leave the X-brace extra thick and then cut it in two pieces before glueing it to the top. This way both braces are identical. Great idea.
anyone know of a good place to buy quartersawn lumber to make bracing from?

@themurkar The braces are radiused in the dish, they are then glued to the soundboard or back in the dish as well.
