  • haha i respect that your a christian and all, but honestly, what did you expect to happen to those safety bars when you dropped 315 pounds on it?

  • 2:28 What a cool t-shirt! O-M-G!

  • 28 reps are to much you are killing yourself at, least 15 and 3 times would be better

  • this has nothing to do with powerlifting, waste of time

  • it was all good. at least they are doing it wether or not they have perfect form or not. it was a hell of a set. everyone ets sloppy at those numbers. and i mean everyone. if you say you don' t then prove it with a vid. much respect.

  • The mental edge that is, the muscle says no, the mind says otherwise.

  • after 5 reps the lower back was going to HELL

  • Some people just crack me up. Anybody can sit on their ass in front of a computer screen and criticize somebody. I don't think that you all even realize how hard this is.

  • I can see why he's doin so many though it just seems like hes still tryen to get form down but id cut the weight even more and aim for 28 smooth instead of sloppy but u got potential

  • Is this impressive? Yeah sure, very. but not a one of those reps would get by in powerlifting. not one broke parallel

  • do you count half reps?

  • what a prick, he broke the rack

  • WHAT IS BURNOUT SET?

  • wow you all keyboard warriors dont understand how a squat works do you??? not everybody squats the same. For obvious reasons........ Human spines are not exactly the same width, density, strength etc. Neither are the persons arms, legs, whole body, etc. Meanwhile 90 degrees parallel is ok for some people due to mobility and stability issues. Others not so much.... I can give you a phys session if you want?

  • 1) This is NOT a burnout set.

    2) This is a high rep set.

    3) Some of his reps are half-reps.

    4) He is obviously a prick and thinks he's bad ass, even though he's roughly 5'5 and maybe 190lbs.

With that said, I do agree with your statement, regardless of how stupid the guy in this video is, and how dumb the guy filing sounds.

  • bending your knees to much!

  • I love the whole video, even the end. My max is about 305 now, squatting...after almost 7 months lifting starting from like scratch (115??).

  • sucky form

  • Lifging lots of weight but sacrificing form big time, lifting half with your back. IDIOT

  • My Powertec rack would have caught that :)

  • dude if u were on our football team u would have the team doing 110 reps instead of 100. get to 90 (parallel).

  • wow .... really? 6x45=270+45lb bar=315lb overall weight!

    Simple math FTW!!!

  • gettin smashed in the face with a shovel for being a punk ass bitch FTW!

  • Not another keyboard warrior!

  • Why you all saying good video? It's pathetic! Seriously his form was shit....Why didn't he stretch his legs before lifting that? Why didn't he keep a much straighter back? Why was he lifting so quickly? Any1 that has half a brain knows that was shit form.

  • He wasn't going all the way down.

    GO ALL THE WAY DOWN!

  • I'd like to see you go all the way down (ATG) ONCE or TEN TIMES with 315lbs!

Dude good job I got up to 205lbs x 20 RAW, but I'm starting over with 1 leg x max RAW ATG and building all the way up to the top!

Maybe someday I'll be able to post a responce video! =D

  • good job man.

yeah those safety bars arent good for that much weight.....especially being dropped.

  • Back started to round after the 13 rep, but overall, great set, decent form.

  • From a biomechanical standpoint, the heels should without question be elevated on a block or plates. Then he could actually use his quads.

  • Excellent job.

Even if his form wasn't perfect, he still did 28, that should make up for the little bit of mistake.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the side notes.

  • THOSE LOOKED CLEAN TO ME

  • Ok your technique sucks. Drop down to 225 and learn to break at the hips and actually go below parellel. Oh and lose the belt.

  • I agree, the technique is bad.

  • u dont need to go below parralel. going parralel is just fine

  • my back dislocated at 425lbs because my coach said lose the belt.

thats all a preference choice and how much you think you can take.

  • belt is very important

look at all the strongmen and powerlifters train, they all use it.

when doing maxing or the heaviest set always use it, just on warm ups loose it

  • except olympic lifters

  • you ahve the same problem i had. Your back comes closer to parrallel to the floor than it should. Lose the belt, and instead of trying to straighten your legs on the way up, squeeze your ass in to pull you up.

  • lose the belt, drop weight and your technique might turn from bad and dangerous to ok

  • wow man, well done. Tough break at the end, but good non the less.

  • not one squat parallel

  • he does a little boot scoot thing too, like a half assed good morning.

  • fucking shit...

  • very good! i am 12 and the best i can do is leg press 420lbs. i could get no where neer ot squating 315. i also saw a guy on scarred who like shattered his legs squating 720lbs

  • You're full of shit. Not even a 16 year old like me can bench press that weight size. Lmao, you're 12? I guess I have my point.

  • i said leg press....

  • Still. You'd have to be pretty damn tall and some flubber plus muscle too pull that off.

  • to pull off wat?

  • Leg pressing 420 lbs. Seriously, I highly doubt that you can leg press that amount of weight size. Get a fucking life you little kid. I think if you leg pressed 420 lbs you would have shattered you're legs. I guess I have my point about you being 12 years old. You children talk to much.

  • Not deep enough, not even parallel for most of them. Plus, your motor pathways are off, the knee's take on 75% of the weight, which means you have to push that much harder with your upper body to come up evenly. Just my opinion though.

  • yeah thats pretty impressive i gotta say how old are u ? yeah one thing i seen very wrong with this video is where is the spoter ? if u would of had at least one good spoter behind you you could of gotten that last one and yeah use a box so u know how far to come down each time instead of half assing it form was ok ive seen better tho but good job

  • Cool squats but I do that thing with my back when it gets tough too. I think that's the time to call it a day as this is when you start to injure your lower back as I have discovered!

  • good effort. but you have more in you.

  • Good thing your wearing that belt. First thing to come up is your butt. Stay tighter and you got at least 5 more reps in you. Keep at it

  • Go ASS TO GRASS next time, BITCH!

    :)

  • yea JOSH!

  • Awesome bud. That was very inspirational.

  • wow...cant see why this is getting 2 stars...even if hes on roids this is very impressive...although i dont think he is....didnt have to drop the weight though

  • very very impressive...keep lifting

  • powerlifters don't video tape themselves checking their bodies out in the mirror.

  • Nice set, high rep squats are never comfortable and it takes plenty of strength to perform a set like that.

That said, your form is less than perfect. To be honest I didn't see a single rep hit parallel, and the depth was inconsistent from rep to rep. You appear to be leaning forward excessively, almost GM'ing the weight up on some reps. It's especially noticeable when you become fatigued. Weak hips, perhaps.

I don't mean to be a dick, just trying to be honest.

  • You should go just a little bit lower in your squats. What was with that drop though? Did the hands give out or something?

  • Form and quality were good, not excellent, but good.

But even still, being just god in squats still puts you in the top 10% of quality squaters.

  • u goes out then up if u just go up its way harder his using his knees but it still would he hard

  • His Depth sucks

  • Did anybody catch that the dude waz way off count. He only had one more until he dropped the wieght

  • Jesus did'nt have your back there now did he mate!

  • Pure insanity. That was 90% mental. Amazing job. Don't listen to the haters.

  • Great Effort,Insperational video. This guy is pure animal, very focused.I Like all the comments of wisdom, from the dickheads below, who have never obviously lifted anything in their lives!!Go take your bloated bodies back under your stones, until you can give people the respect they deserve!

  • that must hurt alot and i wonder if that hunchback dude from 300 can do alot of these

  • man this guy is an animal.form wus very fair to be trying to go for 30 reps,Do ur thing man that wus great i felt ur pain

  • your green like the incredible hulk!!!

  • For all you nay-sayers, try this. I've done 315 for 18. Once you go over 10 reps, your quads and back will shake like his does. His form is fine. He goes low enough. He is holding the bar in an olympic form, so bending forward a little is common at high reps.

He probably had to hurl after this. Best exercise out there.

  • true his back has got to be fucked up

  • he bends foward way to much

  • You dumbfucks who say " it's only 315 blah blah blah" He did it 28 times, with pretty good form. Alot of people I see squating use a real wide stance and dont even go parallel.

  • i can do that and im only 15, but maybe not 28 times though, good shit.

  • how much do you weight..cause 315 aint that heavy

  • Thats my gym achieve fitness achieve fitness! I was there when he did that....lmao he got kicked right the hell out after this

  • no rest for the wicked! great drive!eye of the tiger!

  • I'm glad you were experienced so you were able to broke the rack. You are a true master.

  • ya aint no powerlifter...just a pussy

  • Dude get the form right , and you'll bust out 40 reps.

  • First of all dude that is fucking impressive I mean REALLY impressive fuck I feel like a weakling.

Secondly some of you guys on here are idiots and likely 120lbs to boot. I recently wrote an EMG study on the deadlift and squat and believe me that is parallel some of the subjects I had in looked way higher than that and where squatting at 88/92 degrees knee flextion.

Your form could be better but when your repping 140kg for 28 your obviously doing something right!

  • Should have set the pins higher, inside the rack. Anyways, good effort you savage you.

  • inspirational. quite impressive, even if your form wasn't quite right.

  • such bad form, i bet his lower back was hurting after that

  • I did 185 for 20 once and thought I was about to die. Threw up in the parking lot at the end of that work out..This guy put forward a huge effort. Good job

  • very impressive...wow great job

  • I love how everyone's a critic, but if you're so great, why aren't you up on stage with Ronnie and Jay????? Nice job man, keep it up.....

  • Because Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler have been on steroids for the greater part of at least 10-15 years.

  • i hold two state powerlifting records.....i kno what i'm talkin about

  • that's some weight but NO form. you look like your humpin your girlfriend with the way your hips are movin. You're not going nearly parallel which DOES matter to work out your hamstrings and if you let the weight dig into your back and drive with your legs, then you might impress me. Also doing that many reps is never recommended...10-12 reps is all that is needed IF you do them right

  • That was all heart,.. dont listen to the haters, do you bro keep it goin

  • dude your a fag.. steroids arnt that big of a deal, if someone wants to use them then they have every right to "takes a real man with real strength" they dont put muscle on you over night you still have to bust your ass off in the gym

  • Oh your depth aint that bad, fucktards are being overly critical.

  • Lift for God, what the Hell? You mean like those "Powerteam" guys that gives sermons in between breakin bats and runnin through chunks of ice? And this is the first time I've seen someone fail at squats at the top of the lift, what happened there? You had like an inch to go, Hell you prob could have just racked the weight? Weird. BTW, only bad thing about roids is the cost, don't villify them so much, ain't that big a deal.

  • Very impressive despite some comments, 20+rep squatting can be brutal, also they do not have to be done parallel or below to be effective. Especially if injury prevents it. My only suggestion is to go slower even if you must lower the weight or reps, to prevent bouncing at the bottom wich could lead to injuries but otherwisee , squat on!!!

  • Impresive, but if it isn't deep it doesn't count

  • GET ALL THE WAY DOWN

  • NICE!!

  • Nice my ass! killen kan inte träna.vad är det för skit-knäböj? min tjej tränar bättre

  • heheheh

  • shut the hell up. the kid just did 28 reps. bouncing, not deep enough, whatever. give the kid a break.

  • i can break his head

  • i have a question, what is the point of powerlifting. the only reason i lift to to be the best football player i can be, not to look good or just be strong

  • i have a question, what is the point of powerlifting? only reason i lift is to be the best football player i can, not for looks or just to be strong

  • ok. however you aren't doing squats the way they should be done. You are bouncing and that is a no-no. If you don't accept criticism, how do you expect to improve? A real man knows he is not perfect.

  • y u dont completed the last reps?

  • wow...it was awesome...especially the last....can you tell me how to got this type of power???i want having the power just like you...

  • I am not going to waste my team reading through this bullshit. but i get the impression that the vid creator is arguing about his depth. Bro, your hip crease is no where even close to your knees, you gosta get lower dog

  • Im a good Christian man and i dont like to talk bad upon others but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO YOU CALL THAT A SQUAT? TRYING GOING ALL THE WAY DOWN THEN TRY DOING 315 FOR 28.

  • nice work - some truth about depth comments, but still...I see lots of people squatting MUCH higher than that. I did 315x20 on Friday..its damn tough !!

I did mine in the cage though cause I did not have a spotter that night.

  • stop acting like your an expert if u cant take a comment, u shouldnt post thangs, i do know my way around a weight room, i used to play for UT

  • he should have went lower

  • don't act like you know what your talking about if you've never tried it

  • 315 for 28 is awesome if breaking clearly parallel. That is 6-8 inches too high. It makes a difference of at least 100 lbs

  • I don't know what type of scale your calculating on that's sure as not 6-8 above parallel and second off 100lbs come on try doing what i did film it put it on here then maybe you can think your on my level

  • I agree with roofit, dont ever drop the weight like that, and dont expect the racks to hold the weight after you just dumped it off your shoulders.

  • obviously you've never been in a gym that has real lifters that lift till collapsing because that's the difference between tough of the average weightlifter and the toughness of true lifters like me...if you can fully walk forward to rack a weight you haven't worked hard enough on your burn-out set

  • As impressive as that was, dropping the weight is NEVER acceptable. NEVER, FOR ANY REASON!!! You talk about Jesus, Jesus would never disrespect his gym!

Dropping weights is just PUNK. 315 for 27 or 28 is unreal, but go heavier, like to 500lbs for 5, your legs will get bigger.

  • damn, I can do 315 like 10 times, but that's nuts.

  • Hey there tough guy first off don't teach me on how to get my legs bigger and stronger...go to college, read a book or two to increase hypertrophy within your muscle fiber you must use more than 8 or so reps of 65 - 80% of your 1rm with 1-2 mins rest to increase hypertrophy...the only reason you would lift that low of reps is for strength and power not size so read a book and go back to school...

  • Dude, your a twig! You look like a broomstick. Your flexing your tri for the camera!!! LOL

  • that's why some bodybuilders look huge but can't put up near the amount of weight as a powerlifter..of course there are a few exceptional bodybuilders...but powerlifters need to depend on their nervous system more so they need to rest more betweeen sets bodybuilders do not..

  • Second off if doing 315lbs for 28 reps and pushing it to collapsing while almost passing out during the set is disrespecting his gym...then I would be honored to be considered as disrespecting my gym...because a true man let's his mental toughness exceed his physical abilities.

  • Talk to me when your on my level until then keep you mouth shut and go keep dreaming of a day in which you will be as tough and strong as me.

  • damnn nice job man!

Its hard to go all the way 28reps! Fuck what every1 is saying...theyre gay. spotters arent always needed.

  • Sometimes i wonder what damage straining that long with that much weight does to the human heart over time. I know alot of weightlifters live along time but that can't be good in the long run to strain that way.

  • you rounded your back so much no wonder you dropped that weight im surprised you can still walk

  • That is crazy, hopefully you didnt get into to much trouble for breakin that equipment, other than that, AMAZING

  • wow fuckin rediciuolus

  • holly shit!! i can only squat 315 like 8 times, this guy just killed that shit.... mad respect yo, gimmie some tips lol

  • Forget everyone that moans and stuff, and whilst I haven't tried it personally, I can safely say I would nowhere near be able to do 28 reps with 315 lbs, and everyone that whines sure as hell woulsn't be able to do it either :P

    Big Kudos to you ^_^

  • The safety bars fucking broke because you dropped the bar more than 4 ft. Thats 315lbs being thrown off your back.... They were connected by pins, not welded in. The whole idea is that you cant come back up so you rest it there. Not fucking chuck it. You chucked it when you were bloody standing. You could have racked it....

  • hey big guy you do 27 reps of 315 tape it and put it on here and then see what happens to your legs and body at the end of the set... if you had some sort of brain you can see on my last full rep my body is shot...I pushed it to the max...and i've seen hundreds of lifters drop a lot more than a lil weight like 315 from their starting position and it never broke...so before you critique try doing this set yourself

  • If you had some sort of brain the responsible thing to do would be to line up 2 spotters on either end of the bar before you go to failure like that so the equipment doesn't get trashed and you don't get hurt. Who cares how many reps you got; you would have been banned from my gym and been taked to court for new racks.

  • Nice!!

Shit happens man... I'm 16 and my max is 250... last week I was trying to break it and my spotter, somehow, hit my knee with his knee, my knee shifted in and I fell forward... Just to imagine the safety breaking like that while I was doing it gives me chills.

  • nice fucking set man. fuck all these haters, all ppl do is talk shit on youtube. and LOL at breaking the squat rack

  • Geez. Everyone is a critic on here. I sure as hell couldn't do any better. Good squatting!

  • I'm 17 and lift every other day....Dude, Good job. Dont let people get to you. You may want to check records in your state for that. You look kinda smaller (height) and your stocky but not fat, which is a good chance for a record breaker. I aspire to be like you man. Keep liftin

  • that is awesome

  • Respect

  • oh i dont know, so he should have gone a few inches lower, tough shit, 28 reps at the length he went down would still fuckin kill, though i am ashamed of the squat rack lol thats pretty fuckin sad when your equipment dies, though i know it wasnt your fault

  • thanx for the comment trust me no one was more upset about the squat rack breaking then me its a damn shame but that goes to prove you can never be too careful...if i had my spotter there he would be crippled right now...trust me in my five years of personal training never have i seen both safety bars break like that its embarrassing...trust me the owner of the gym heard my wrath after..i thank God though no one was hurt behind me

  • YOU should have heard the wrath of the owner after that. Ever hear of lining up 2 guys to spot you on each end of the bar? You just said it yourself "you can never be too careful". YOU should have bought the owner new racks after that stunt. YOU are a complete jerk.

  • that doesnt look wery hard :D but i think it is...

  • The depth isn't that bad. It's a lot better than what I expected from reading the comments. Very respectable set as far as I'm concerned. What is your best raw back squat breaking parallel? How much do you weigh?

  • right now im 205ish just got back into training 3 weeks ago have a competition coming up in a few months...my best raw i'll find out in a few months...my best ever 575x2 (4 months ago)...thanks for the feedback

  • hahaha...hey tough guy can you do it?..tape it and put it on here then we'll see who's foooling ourselves...remember envy is a deadly sin..its ok though ill let you...

  • 9 years of experience and you still can't squat properly.

Fair play though, 27 reps is amazing with that much weight.

  • let's remember this is my last burn-out set at the end of a grueling workout..my technique wasn't the top thing on my mind..my endurance and toughness mentally and physically was while keeping my technique as strong as i could...

  • Nice knee bends. Try squatting next time its a lot harder.

Technique should ALWAYS be the top thing on your mind.

    You are only fooling yourself
