Really hard to determine which is better when the sample video is only available in 240p. 720p makes a whole lot of difference when the cameras are designed for the higher quality setting.

the vado has a wider angled camera. mine tends to add colour to things. I lke it better than the flip only thing that made me get a flip was that the vado does not work well on macs. the divX file it creates is windows orientated. Creative is more of a windows company. i can play any file on QT but cannot import them directly into imovie.

Vado is way better.. First do a "Correct & Fair" comparison" use some decent light to compare footage. offer high res samples to make a comparison.. first the wide lens on the Vada blows the flip away. 2nd you get far more memory and rec time than the flip on the vado.. There is no comparison..

FYI: I have a Flip-ultra, and what you said about the batteries is true...however you can buy a Flip-Battery Pack that charges every time you plug the Flip into the USP Port. The flip can record up to 120 minutes if you get the flip ultra hd, and you can use a rechargeable battery for it. It also has better quality so I choose the flip. The vado just doesn't seem to be that good in quality, and like you said, it's a knock off

I personally think the vado is better in many ways.for starters the screen is much bigger and better.plus it has a nice rubberized finish so it's really comfortable to hold.and I think that the flip looks sort of like a fisher price toy (ya know big red button in the middle).so I think the vado is much better.

You didn't comment on the audio quality. What did you use to record the sound for the comparison? I saw another comparison of these two cameras and the audio was extremely low, volume-wise. You couldn't hear what the guy was saying. When you're talking about video cameras, audio is important.
