  • HI! It's easy to count to infinity:

    100=cent [tsent]; 1000 = mil; 1.000.000=miliono

    11= dek unu

    14= dek kvar

    22=dudek du

    145= cent kvardek kvin

123.456.789= cent dudek tri milionoj kvarcent kvindek ses mil sepcent okdek naŭ.

  • Why not make a little longer of a video that explains how to count from 1-9999? it would literally only take like another minute.

  • How long did it take you to get fluent, or at least somewhat able to communicate with other fluidly?

  • LoL Esparanto is the biggest fusion of languages ever ! xD I heard something in common with Italian, Spanish, French, English and even German at the end XDDD

  • ok...how exactly is the "r" supposed to be pronounced in Esperanto? I've heard it pronounced the English way, the Spanish/Italian way, and the French way...

  • @KayToh69 hi! well, maybe it's a little late to respond, but the r shoud be pronounced as the spanish soft r (naRanja) or as the english r (orange). What matters is you try to pronounce it. You can understand a French perfectly with the french r, but if a Chinese pronounces the r as an l, then it will be hard to understand some words...

  • uno du tri kvar kvin ses sep ok na dek? mi estas dek-knvar jara!

  • vi estas tre ĉarma

  • hey how did you learn esperanto was it by yourself?

  • @MsABly: Mi pensas. Vi povas lerni ankaŭ al Lernu.net. Tio estas bonen retpaĝaron por lerni la lingvo de Esperanto. (I think so. You can learn also to Lernu.net. That's a great website to learn the language Esperanto.)

  • @silverchrest

    Go fuck yourself. He's adoreable!

  • mi komencis lerni Esperanto tri aux kvar horoj en ju estinta. mi tipo malelegante, sed la fondacio estas facila!

  • You're adorable, and you have sexy fingers. :)

    Do you play the piano?

  • This is awesome, only made better because he's fairy cute but it helps my interest in the language at least!

  • FAAAAAGGg

  • any site you'd recommend to learn esperanto from? :) i can pick up half of it due to speaking spanish and understanding italian but i want to actually learn to speak it too :)

  • @cheesegoth Lernu.net is a great place, they have courses and a dictionary in addition to tools, games, and a forum.

  • i hear french spanish italian and english o and catalan only

  • Man everyone in the world justs needs to learn this, advancing human society

  • How come pronouns aren't subject to the various rules of Esperanto, e.g. nouns end with -o and infinitives with -i?

  • @marocon60 That would get really messy! I do wonder why morgaŭ isn't just morge, like other adverbs.

  • What's Esperanto? It sounds like a mixture of language. I hear Spanish and English in there?

  • @caroncarol Esperanto is an international auxillarly language that was created in 1887. It's vocabulary mostly comes from germanic and romance languages (which is why you hear Spanish and English). It's intent is to used in international communication so that no one has an unfair advantage. It was intentionally designed to be easy to learn, thus it takes less than a tenth of the time for a native French speaker to become proficient in it than in German.

  • Man, the fact that Dead Like Me's theme is playing in the background makes this 50x better.

  • @theidort ^.^ I'm glad you can appreciate my choice of background music, 50pts for recognizing the tune =P

  • I was actually watching Dead Like Me when I clicked on this video, WTF...

  • eble se cxiuj esperantistoj estus tiom seksa kiel amadeus E-o gajnus pli multojn parolantojn :D

  • hi :)

I'm portuguese and I weard about esperanto not for a long time I must say , today I was curious and I've searched it , and I found out that learning it could be very funny, but I'm also learning german now , I'm afraid to confuse the both languages ;s

I was wondering , is Esperanto difficult ? How many time do I need do have a good knowledge about it ?

  • @mrsjmonica Esperanto was made to be easy, yet fun. I see it as a base for learning other languages, so I would suggest you learn it, then German; to have a head start. I have only been studying Esperanto for 2 weeks and I am almost fluent, but it's fun too.

    Adiaŭ mia amiko! :)

  • @aacacaa I'm studing german at school so I can't really « stop it » , what I'm thinking to do is learn it in the next vacations , since 2 weeks are enough , hope I'll have the sucess you did :)

    obrigada !

  • @aacacaa It's easy because you speak one of the few languages it's based on ;)

And Esperanto is obviously not a suitable base for learning Hindi, Arabic, Korean, Japanese, or Chinese.

  • i tried it for a bit yesterday. it definitely doesn't take long dealing with the grammar, but yeah, picking up vocabulary might be somewhat tedious as in, it'll take u a bit. now that the technicalities are out of the way ... where in Gods name do u use it? apart from chat rooms lol

  • Could he be wearing a tube top?

  • kial estas vi ne portanta ĉemizo?

  • Are you watching "dead like me" in the background?

  • fucking hippies...quit learning a bullshit dead language that will never be and get a job

  • @00RSZEX Maybe some of us have jobs and are learning Esperanto for fun. Ever thought of that?

  • @00RSZEX Imagine the job opportunities that arise from being able to EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATE WITH ANYONE WHO LIVES ON THE FUCKING EARTH.

    We should all learn esperanto.

  • @Seroandj TSA Agent?

  • @00RSZEX I was thinking more along the lines of "Global Dictator".

  • @Seroandj ahhhh even better. I nominate Obama

  • @00RSZEX I've got a job and learning this language.

Maybe people like learning new things?

  • I heard that Esperanto is the easiest language to learn. How long did it take you to learn up to atleast a conversational level?

  • @discjockeyfuture Esperanto is very easy, I began with an e-mail course, working at my own pace i completed it within 2 weeks. After completing the course, I had a good understanding of the grammar, and basic Vocabulary, I was able to chat in Esperanto chat rooms, with the help of a dictionary. The grammar is very easy, with only 16 grammatical rules(no exceptions). Once you have a good command of the grammar, it's only a matter of building vocabulary.

  • @amadeus5521 I have some old esperanto books(at least 3 or 4 years old) and tried to learn but no one in my city spoke it, so I gave up. If I try again, do I need new books? Were new rules put in, or is it still the same?.

  • @Perktube1 Your books will be just as good as any from the early 1900's. The fundamentals of Esperanto remain the same. Some new words, or usage have been added as needed(new technology or concepts, for example). Some words have gone out of use, for example "Ci"(very formal "you" akin to Thou) is often replaced by, less formal "Vi". The ending "ujo" for country names is often replaced by "io": Japanujo vs Japanio. Small changes here and there, nothing you won't be able to easily pick up.

  • @amadeus5521 That's very good news to me! I hope these and more updates have been added to the Lernu site. Also I would like to see an Esperanto convention of some sort come to florida. Where are you from?

  • zieh dir mal was an du depp

  • NOT WEARING A SHIRT?! Somebody, think of the children!

    Get the fuck over yourselves.

  • @bacofishtaco Kinda suits the Esperanto language, everybody walking around shirtless LOL:)

  • @bacofishtaco Your weird LOL...do not tell me you never have take your children to the beach LOL

  • @ML678v

You're a fucking dumbass who doesn't understand sarcasm. And I don't have children, for the record, and never will.

  • @bacofishtaco I seriously didn't pay attention he was shirtless lol

  • @bacofishtaco Scroll down to rant about His lack of clothing, then I run in to your comment.

  • Dude... why you are naked.

  • Where did you learn to speak Esperanto? I really want to learn it. Please help me

  • @metalcore211 I learned all the basics through a free E-mail course here: pacujo.net/esperanto/course/ . Also I'd suggest lernu.net . Lernu is probably the most resourceful site for learning Esperanto. Lernu has tons of lessons, music, videos, forums, and an awesome vortaro(dictionary), check it out!!

  • how can I say in esperanto.... PLEASE WEAR CLOTHES!... thanx!

  • gay

  • i only watch this because you're hot lol

  • whats esperanto for wear a shirt?

  • @nadadenadak Thanks, very sweet of you to say! <3

  • @nadadenadak

you think your so cool. You realize that isn't even an insult. You simply called him an inanimate object (bundle of sticks or bassoon). Grow up.

  • @nadadenadak why is it that you don't have the maturity to just let a video be? Does showing your ass really show how macho your really are? I don't get you, maybe it's this fabled gaydar orsomething like that, but homosexuality hasn't really had much defining outside chaacteristics other than the fondness for the same sex. Of course if you meant a bundle of sticks I still don't get it. Eh, ennough two cents for the day I'm gonna get back to looking for vids... BTW good vid, Amadeus...

  • @6123 Tbhanks I'm glad you liked the vid. Eh, I don't worry about charachters like noodledak, You see, I'm not sure the haters realize they contribute to my view count. and most of the time, for example with nadaramma, This video alone has gained more views then all of nadabingbangs videos combined. So i let the haters hate, soon enough, it'll be money in my pocket =P

  • @nadadenadak

Kompatinda nadadenadak via nura fiereco estas ne estis gaja ... Kiel senenhava estas via vivo !

  • Umm why are you wearing no clothes.

  • You're soooo cute. ^_^

  • You're soooo cute. ^_^

  • Saluton! :)

Ĉu kiu povus paroli min, kie estas iu bona kaj viva esperanta forumo?

  • Delete this nonsens!

YOU CAN'T TEACH A LANGUAGE, UNTIL YOU HAVE LEARNT IT YOURSELF!

  • I'm really surprised that Esperanto has remained relatively hidden from people, even after years on the internet. It seems to me like a perfect solution. I know the language is not perfect, but none of the other IAL's are perfect and this one actually has people speaking it globally. Far better than English for a second language that is useful for anything a second language needs to be.

  • PLEASE..... Someone tell me how to say " FUCK ESPERANTO" in esperanto

  • @dannyboy860 bugren al Esperanto [kaj al vi]

  • @fiorixF1 Se vi estas tre virbela viro, vi povus bugri min ankaŭ... ;)

    ŝercoj, ŝercoj... mi pensas... hihihi....

  • @dannyboy860 fiku esperanton

  • This language was invented by Polish guy Ludwik Zamenhof.

  • Put your fucking shirt on.

  • You're kinda cute. (:

  • is that the music in the background from Dead Like Me?

  • it IS a real language, besides, how many languages do you speak? you idiot

  • It is a real language you fucktard hetero. What's with the destructive machismo that so many of you people are infected with?

  • @SovieTiko310 You're an idiot.

    :)

  • @SovieTiko310 pendejo si no te gusta no se para que te metes solo la proxima vez mejor manten tu boca cerrada that was spanish btw lets see if you understood that you wise ass

  • Hello! you are cute!

I was wondering if you could help me with this... I want to get a tattoo that says:

    am I dreaming?

But i want to try it in different languages... so if you could please translate it for me to esperanto i would appreciate it a lot.

    Thanks!

  • Kara Viktoro, vi tre bele instruas KALKULI fingre, sed kiam vi komencas, ankaw la la lernantojn invitu komenci, (ne komencighi).

How about don't wear any pants!

    Pretend you are E. G. Marshall :)

I don't mind being distracted by your amazing nudity

    Hahaha!

  • yes it is, the only problem with english is that our sentence structure i spose ud call it is backward compared to most other languages ... i agree tho its the best language

  • 100 % agree. Period !

  • serë un dramaturgo esperantanista

  • El Esperanto y cualquier idioma se vuelve útil solo cuando el ser humano conecta con lo más esencial y se olvida de lo que este sistema "productivo" le ha metido en la cabeza.

  • This is not free language. This is still too like a mixed languge (Germenic&Slavik language). I think you're look at Balaibalan Languge :D.

  • why are you doing this video shirtless by the way?

    Thing thing unu shirtiagosen?

  • I was wondering the same thing :S

  • Bone diris vi! Mi esperas ke aliaj personoj ankaux sxatas lerni esperanto nun, troveblas tro malmultajn esperantolernandojn.

Ankaux mi estas komencanto, pro tio mi esperas ke scribis seneraro...

  • Esperanto may be fun to learn, but its usefulness is almost non-existent.

  • well, there must be some usefulness of it, its an artificial language, but its lasted for over a hundred years

  • Cool! I'd like to learn.

  • estoy aprendiendo esperanto :)

li esperanto estas bela (espero haberlo dicho bien XD)

  • Gracias por el vídeo. Estoy aprendiendo esperanto ^^

(Thanks for the video. I'm learning esperanto)

    ¡¡Saludos!!

  • English is very repetitive and inconsistent. Uses a word for many situations and with diferent meanings. In addition hasmany exceptions. It spread to America because English people abused and massacred American cultures. Same as spanish and portuguese people did. One thing is to understand a language perfectly and other is when almost people write it wrong, like English language. Watch a Chinese video and wath if there are English commentaries. It's obvious.

  • @CarloFabiane It does not matter what English is or is not. The fact is, the English language, as any other language on planet Earth, can convey meaning from one person to another and vice-versa, just as well as any other language. Communication, be it via English or Chinese, is had thus rendering both languages living and effective. Languages and their individual characteristics mean nothing in your context as they all effectively enable communication.

  • possibly no pants?

  • I like how most everyone here says the age of Esperanto will be universally spoken in this century, yet everyone commenting from around the world is commenting in English. Makes me laugh a little...

  • Good one. How do you say "Why not comment on the actual content of the video rather than getting hung up on superficial shit, you stupid prick"?

  • just making conversation you sad little freak :)

  • Seriously, what's with the no shirt??

  • What's with all the people threatened by a guy with no shirt? Relax, morons--they're only shoulders. You won't turn into a shirtless guy after viewing this video.

  • @scottdracula HAHAHAHAHA!

  • @scottdracula That's just their social programming talking. The only thing wrong with nudity is that people think it's wrong. They are so mindless that they've never questioned where that belief came from; religion.

  • No shirt???

  • Can you do that again, but with shirt on...

  • Who knows the exactly amount of people who speaks this language?

¿Quién conoce la cantidad exacta de personas que hablan este idioma?

  • 100 000 - 2 million

  • I knew this range but is so big.

  • I guess it has to do with that Esperanto don't have a official country where they can see the population and count how many people are fluent in it.

  • Hh? Konti?

  • Ni komencIGHu? Hh?

  • Jes,"Ni komenciĝu."(Let us get started/we ŝould get started.)

  • Ne, tio estas komplete malghusta.

  • Bonvolu legi la videajn notojn ANTAŬ ol vi aldonus komentojn. Dankon.

  • @amadeus5521 Oni bezonas tiun frazon en multaj Youtube-videoj. xD

  • Beautiful language. I took a course last night, I am hooked.

  • I highly advise you to continue learning this extraordinary language. Saluton!

  • were do they actualy speak esparanto because it turn's out esparanto is only something like 50 yrs old but i highly doupt it

  • think it was invented in 1890s.

the USSR used to broadcast propaganda to eastern europe in Esperanto - to save on translating to polish, hungarian, czech etc.

and some are campaining to have it as EU languge. - i

  • Esperanto was developed in 1887 and currently has 1,000 native speakers and growing. I will be learning this language as soon as possible as I see it possibly becoming the global language

  • yes very possible 1000 speakers) lol! I mean Croatia has 4 million people ! You better learn croatian it may be worldl anguage!

  • 1905 was the first international Esperanto congression.

  • You're so beautiful *_*

  • Polski (polish):

jeden dwa trzy cztery piec szesc siedem osiem dziewiec dziesiec

  • la domo la viro la virino yo si creo en el esperanto gracias amadeus ademas te oyes muy sexxy espero aprender pronto

    ciao

  • Or 1 to Ten in Chinese 一二三四五六七八九十

  • Lol, the kanji for 1-10 in Chinese is the same in Japanese!

  • That's because Japanese Kanji are Chinese characters. ^.^ Japanese is written using both Chinese characters(Kanji), and Japanese characters (Hiragana/Katakana), together.

  • I knew that, but it was still interesting to see it actually occur!

  • Here's one to ten in Swahili, an African language:

Mmoja, miwili, mitatu, minne, mitano, sita, saba, nane, tisa, kumi

    Looks anything like Esperanto? No.

Maybe an Asian language, here's one to ten in Vietnamese:

Một, Hai, Ba, Bốn, Năm, Sáu, Bảy, Tám, Chín, Mười

    Nope, doesn't resemble either.

The idea for a world language is noble, but people should let nature do it's job. Globalisation will make a world language, no need to make one artificially.

  • Universal Language is a step toward universal peace. so that we may all understand each other. This language is only for a means of communication amongst everyone in the world. it is not meant to change our originated language of our on personal culture. What harm is there in wanting Universal Peace in understanding one another we need to be the generation that put in motion the evolution of Universal language.LOL Peace!:)

  • Yes, I agree, like I said, it's a noble thing worthy of all admiration, but Esperanto cannot be an world language.

It can barely classify as an European language, because it have elements from romance, germanic and slavic languages, however, it's have no semitic elements, no uralic elements, no elements specific to the far eastern and african languages. Indo-European languages( Esperanto included ) are spoken by 44% of the world. What about the rest I ask? do 56% of the world doesn't count?

  • Globalisation will choose an world language. It's kinda like natural selection, the language most fit to be the world language will be the world language.

  • You are right.I do hope in the near future that someday hopefully in my time or maybe in the near future there will be a universal language that we all can communicate.May you have a blessed loving day!

  • they say the language of the future will be panglish or some other form of english

  • Comment removed

  • I'm a native romance speaker( Romanian ) and I've learned English to a very advanced level( cae ). I also speak German and Dutch to a decent level. i find no similarity in Esperanto with Germanic languages, let alone Asian or African languages.

and to the people who say English is hard, it's one of the easiest languages in the world, look at polish or uralic languages( Finnish, Hungarian, Estonian ) or language isolates like basque, those are hard languages.

  • Psssh. People claim that Esparanto is such an unbiased language, yet every number seemed to have a connection with a Romance or Germanic Language. Unu is very similar to uno. Du is similar to dos. Tri is similar to tres or tre (Italian). Even dek is similar to the latin root for 10, dec. They say it is the international language, but it is more European than asian. To count to ten in Chinese, you say, yi, er, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi. I see no connection to that in this video.

  • That's because Zamenhof only incorporated stuff from Romance and Slavic languages.

  • La patro faras pano lol!!

    I wanna learn esperanto fluently!

  • You are really cute.

  • Dude, I totally concur. XD

  • Fiki vi stulta hundo sucxilo

  • The 21st century will be the age of Esperanto!

  • Despite the propaganda, Esperanto is culturally biased. 2/3 of their vocabulary is Romance, 1/3 Germanic. They derived "knab-in-o" (girl) from "knab-o" (boy) with the assumption that the feminine is secondary to the masculine. Esperanto is also ambiguous in many aspects. You say "filino" with 2 meanings: "daughter" (fil-in-o) and "dirty linen" (fi-lin-o"). You say "la frato de Jxan, kiu estas mia amiko", and the syntax doesn't tell which one is your friend.

  • How do you say "shirt" in Esperanto? No wait, you probably don't know that one.

  • Comment removed

  • It is easy, but what about those that dont speak a romantic langauge? Like Arabic?

  • they first have to learn the romantic alphabet and memorize it

  • It is a very simple grammar :)

  • I can here some french and spanish, but how the hell can you learn this language? I dont understand shit!

  • Shit is MERDO, is a very easy word to understand - MERDO :-p

  • Huh? There's no french or spanish in this video. He's speaking in esperanto.

    By the way:

"The phonemic inventory is essentially Slavic, as is much of the semantics, while the vocabulary derives primarily from the Romance languages, with a lesser contribution from the Germanic languages. Pragmatics and other aspects of the language not specified by Zamenhof's original documents were influenced by the native languages of early speakers, primarily Russian, Polish, German, and French."

  • Very nice. I'm learning Esperanto and I just love it. It's the language of friendship.

  • esperanto estas bona.

This is the only complete sentence I can compose right now......

First encountered in Final Fantasy - Memoro de la Stono, which was quite awesome, and went to some esperanto website dled a learner software....
