The thing i like about all the newstargames titles is just how well they play. Yeah the gfx are not the best in the world. but that don't matter because the games play well and are really addictive. I have brought 3 of their games so far and still play them now. Well worth the money everyone of them.

Wait, now I got it: you're British, and your inspiration was Sensible Soccer (hence the similar name). I understand that it was massively popular in Europe, and mostly ignored elsewhere. Back in the day, I recall EGM calling its visuals too simplistic, compared to what was out on the Genesis / Mega Drive.

These days, developers seem to think 2D is a license to produce underwhelming visuals. It's like they skipped everything between NES and Playstation, and don't know that 2D can look awesome. For example, go check SNK's 'The Ultimate 11', which, after over a decade, STILL looks way better than this!

@nightsdreamparadox: I'll tell you about "these days": today, all that matter are graphics, online features and accessibility (a.k.a. gameplay for dumb asses). Sensational Soccer focuses the opposite: challenging offline gameplay with simple yet effective graphics. SNK's Ultimate 11's controls and challenge were pure garbage, like former FIFA games.
