from what i've heard he went to school with brandon and always envied him for how "cool" he was.

He even said Brandon never did anything to him directly but he always felt like he needed to be like him.

I don't really understand since Brandon's lyrics are always saying do your own thing and you shouldn't mimic somebody else.

it seems really like he was insecure about himself in highschool and this song is just a carried on angst from his teenage years.

I went to school with both Brandon and Sacha. A message to you Sacha, the song would be fine, if you didn't literally refererence Brandon as "Brandon Boyd". You couldn't simply call it "Brandon". I couldn't tell you. I used to chat with Sacha and I asked him about it. I thought it meant that Brandon was one of the cool kids and Sacha was want of the kids being "kept in line". He got pretty upset that I didn't get it, and we don't talk anymore. I stopped listening to his music for a minute, but it's good stuff, and that was months ago, so I'm over it. I'm still not sure what this song's about, though.

Naming the song after a semi-known artist with whom the singer has a tenuous past connection makes people want to listen to it b/c they think in some way they're going to learn about the essence of the title of the song... i really dig this song, though. reminds me of earlier radiohead. good voice. he has a little bit of the crazy eye, though, don't you think? he should cover "say it ain't so"
