  • if u look at the picture of real Ip Man, Tonny looks more like him compare to Donnie

i feel that this movie will be less action but more acting than the Donnie's Ip Man ;]

  • Tony Leung is a great actor, but i'm not sure if he fits this role. Also, this is a little too "Matrix-ish" for my taste.

  • @VF5 it should be because the fight chreographer is Yuen Woo Ping. The Guy who rersponsible for The Matrix.

  • @HungHing101 Well, choreograph is one thing, but to film this scene in such a style (rain, dark clothe fighters, slow motion movements) is definitely too matrix-ish.

  • Can anyone tell me the name of a movie that shows a group of teenagers that fight. I remember seeing a trailer for the movie last year but i just can't remember the name of the movie. Also the teenagers are asian ofcourse, so lets not mistake it for a western style movie.

  • Celtic Frost - The Heart Beneath

  • love a movie with a good fight. Love a good fight.

  • Does anyone here know which is the name of the outro song?

  • fuck the matrix, hollywood has a monopoly on almost everything and american brain but nope you cannot have kung fu, you chi bongsssssss

  • 1:13 to 1:25 epic ending scene...

  • Fuck off Wong Kar Wai lol

  • Thank you for ruining Ip Man's name :(

  • @MercenaryArek How so ? Please elaborate.

  • THIS FILM IS NEVER GONNA FUCKING COME OUT!!!!

  • LOL @ all the fucktards saying it's too much like the matrix or Tony Leung isn't right for the role. You HAVEN'T even seen it yet. Don't judge a book by it's cover you dipshits.

  • @Segeric While we can wait to see whether Tony is a good fit for the role, this scene is too much reminisce of the Matrix. It is what it is.

  • i cant wait fr this, its releasin in 2013!! y!!

  • um I have a question is this a real trailer of Ip man if it is I'm watching it if not then I don't know but I heard they willl make the grandmasters movie but I not sure if this is the actually trailer of the grandmasters 2012 and I'm wondering is the grandmasters 2012 film going to be a remake or the story of Ip man's life time continuing (sorry if I spell something wrong)

  • WTF.. Chinese version matrix revolution

  • Comment removed

  • wow this is like plagerism.. a few scenes is way too much like matrix.

  • @tedc06 don't say shit if you haven't seen the movie, this took 12 years to shoot, because Tony Leung was also casting in other great movies like Hero.

  • Wong Kar Wai? Really?

  • that's why u never fight a man with a cheap ass fedora. they got nothing left to lose

  • @jansenryan3 hahahahahahahahahahaha

  • @jansenryan3 this is a really retarded comment

  • Kung fu movie is so outdated.

  • @jaysoeun OK, go watch your korean love dramas and leave kungfu movies to real men.

  • That outro music.... brings back memories from all those Manga Videos in the 90s :)

  • ugh. looks bad too much cranked up moves. donnie yen's ip man looks so much better

    action-wise

  • Comment removed

  • where can i c this movie

  • Ip man will never be Wong Fei Hung!

  • Donnie yen is Ip man

  • Quick everyone attack... one at at time?

  • lol

  • Darn no donnie enimore....no good

  • Ip Chun's style is as we all know Wing Chun as in Donnie Yen's portryal in the ip man movies but in grandmasters the style is not wing chun!!!

  • @tonyGUNNE How is it not Wing Chun ?

  • Tony Leung is an amazing emotional actor but he's just not meant for kung fu.

  • When I took karate' (i dont know how to spell it) I was hoping it would be like this ...but its not

  • Tony Leung does "kung fu" now? Aiyahhhh.

  • Ip Man starring Donnie Yen is awesome. I just don't see this movie beating it.

  • @TheFyresshadow Nice, judging it based on 1:20 of a trailer.

  • Andy Bogard NeoMax ftw.

  • @YouFirstEye

I've been trying to work out what it's saying too.

    Kung Fu

    Two Words

    One speaks, one does?

    Sit, lie down.

(not sure about this line...'Go back _ _ absolutely right') Is that true?

My Cantonese is not that great (2nd generation!)

  • Found this translation:

Kung fu, just two words. A horizontal and vertical stroke.

The wrong fall. The right stands. Don't you agree?

  • @farrotpod Correct TRANSLATION:)

  • love the cast, Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi,

  • es matrix vercion chino???

  • i like donnie yens version better even though its not that historically accurate

  • @arnolf The movie is not even out yet.

  • interesting...HK Cinema never did a big budget and good production movie about Bruce Lee. Lee was the first Chinese hero in the west.

  • Where's Neo? :P

  • is this out yet?

  • parece pomissor ip mam vamos ver

  • Kung Fu;

    Two words.

    One who errs, falls;

One who stands is absolutely right.

    Is that so?

  • u would think they woudl cast a martial artist to play this role like previously play by donnie yen. iono, the trailer doesnt look that imprressive. too much camera movement and slow motion usually an attempt to make up for lack of actual technique. tony leung is a great actor but i dont think this role is for him.

  • whoa that had the manga trailer music at the very end. that brings back heaps of memories.

  • After last decade Wong Fei Hung, now IP Man, next decade Bruce Lee

  • @alfaletter Let's not forget Huo Yuan Jia.........played a lot by Jet Li

  • Not as impressive as Donny Yen.

  • @BloodyShanglong I beg to differ, From first hand experience working with Donny Yen, I found him to be more of a "learning on the job" kind of martial arts actor. He also refused to demonstrate his skill on me in a live interview, I find that very suspicious.....

  • @BloodyShanglong Agreed =)

  • The Matrix Revolutions o.O

  • I bet it'll be good. Looks sick, but I still like Donnie Yen as Master Yip Man. Although I won't let that stop me from enjoying this movie on it's own merit.

  • tony leung!!! he is mighty fine!

  • many me many me!- Agent Smith

  • The matrix Revolutions called, it wants its rain, goons in black, the colour green and Yuen Woo-ping back.

  • @mcrazza Or its gone home to a superior director...Like Kar Wai Wong =D

  • @mcrazza Don't forget it's super powered protagonist

  • omg.. they did change..... the Yip man.. Thumbs up if you crying cause Donnie Yen is not inside... =/

WITHOUT Donnie Yen = NO True YIP MAN

  • @gsalamander dude tony leung is alright. thank god andrew garfield didnt get the role.

  • @gsalamander the movie's not out yet, but you will always find someone complaining about it in advance...

  • the matrix should have been like this

  • this so looks like matrix lol

  • Wong Kar Wai is the fucking man.

  • Donnie Yen is so much better. Tony Leung shouldn't even try being Ip MAn..

  • @PTigris7

well from what i read tony has studied ip man's form of martial arts for 6-7 years and this is no actor faking martial arts he really can punch and kick.

  • Ip Man is becoming the new Wong Fei Hung of HK Cinema

  • @knightryder600

I agree. I wonder who's next? If there should be any I think Wong Shun Leung should be next. Since Bruce Lee did credit most of his Wing Chun training from him. And he was infamous for all his underground street fights. That could easily be made into a great martial arts film.

  • @knightryder600

i want wong fei hung back

  • why doesnt someone in hk make a class bruce lee biog, because as of yet we havent seen one that does justice.

  • @Partoftheratpack they have. recently just came out. called...Young Bruce Lee.

  • @xpreshun yeah i've seen that, i'm on about his adult life.

  • look whos talking..there arent bigger copying idiots than americans...there almost isnt a single movie which doesnt have hundreds of remakes...and for the info, this isnt a copy from the ip man movies from donnie yen, its a new movie about the same person...

  • They are truly the grandmasters of piracy....

Why the f**k did they copy from fellow chinese?

  • I am so excited for this. Love Tony Leung Chu Wai and Wong Kar Wei. And am pysched to see this, even if it reminds me of the opening for the Korean My Wife is a Gangster!
