  • So...does a family practitioner deliver babies as well?

  • @RockinTurtlez I don't believe so. That's a specialty that either Ob/Gyn or neonatal surgeons do.

  • @WhereYouWannaBe and @RockinTurtlez: I'm a first-year medical student considering going into family medicine. Family practitioners are actually trained in OB during residency and can deliver babies, though depending on where they practice (e.g. urban v. rural), they may not choose to practice OB.

  • @Olsi89 It sounds like you've had some bad experiences, but that's a rather unfair view of family physicians.

  • @Olsi89 not everyone is like that. they are humans after all. can't help to make a mistake

  • @Olsi89 U MAD?!

  • @Olsi89 They are actually the highest trained individuals in the world. Sometimes though they become incompetent and stray away from the personality that is required to work with sick people every day, and we hear about this more and more recently. Family Practitioners are also the best doctors if you want good social skills, since they have ties to so many families. DO NOT underestimate doctors. I am a pre med student and it is very difficult so I take extreme offense to what you stated here!

  • highest paid jajajjajajaj yeah....right
