@ loveascending : u obv havent read the book. if so, you would definetly kno why she wasn't "shocked" as you put it. she took a very long time to make this decision, years. it was her choice, her well thought out choice. she didnt just say one day oh i think i'll be wicked, as this poor imprint of the book so bluntly portrays. She was forced to choose this, as the putcast, as the one who was shunned from society from the day she was born. This was her sad destiny all along. Poor Elphaba..

this version is like "oh you're cool. we're in love." and its cute yeah but come on. elphaba has never felt loved in her life and she can't be just happy that fiyero chose her over glinda. since she has always loved him. in a way (i don't mean it in a bad way at all) she lusts for him.

@musicXobsessed There's a video where Kyle Dean Massey (a former Fiyero understudy, now Gabe in Next to Normal) and Jennifer DiNoa (current Elphaba standby) explained that the choreography is kind of awkward/cheesy because it's blocked because they're only using one mic (there's too much feedback if they both have their mics on that close together). So, yeah, that's why it's awkward...?

This is Adam Garcia in the video. If you're a real fan of Wicked you'd know that there's something distinct about Adam Garcia's accent when he sings that can easily identify him. Its not Adam Lambert because of 2 things

1. Adam Lambert was in the San Francisco Cast of Wicked. This is the LONDON cast.

2. Adam Lambert was not yet part of Wicked when Idina Menzel was Elphaba may it be the broadway or london cast.

Norbert Leo Butz (the original Fiyero on Broadway) is WAY better than this guy!! Listen to the original soundtrack and you'll agree. Norbert's voice sounds as good as Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel. Their voices are all so amazing!

It's based on the Gregory MacGuire (sp?) novel that goes takes a alternate look at the wizard of oz. It shows how the Wicked Witch of the West (Elphaba) turned "wicked"... and that she new the good witch (Glinda) in high school and that they are friends. It's an excellent musical... it's in my top 5.
