  • Yikes! If after taxes..you only make 15,000-18,000 that much life threatening driving wouldn't be worth it. I don't know the tax laws up in the Yukon..

I thought it was like $50,000 or more-take home. Find out the tax laws...maybe, call up there to a trucking co and find out.

  • these the real truckers courage

  • This looks great, bet you enjoyed it.

  • that wasnt even ice that was driving down a snow covered dirt road

  • From what I gathered the income is around $25,000 a month-depending on loads-not that much for that kind of danger-and then after taxes..$58,000 for 3 months-if the ice road holds up.

  • ;in the uk a driver on class one work that is 40 tons will get about £20 000 to £25 000 a year that is abot $50 000 so you lads are 4 times as much thats sounds good to us in the uk

  • @Yeshuamysavior1 Sorry man, I got a quetion for you and it's kindda personnal a bit, I'll ask it and feel free to answer to it. I am actually in class for my class 1 driver license(end in june +/-) and I'm aiming at these iced roads in the future. My question is about the pay. You sais 25 grand and over, was it with or without the taxes?? I won't aim at this goal being told you'd make 50 000 in 3 mouth and come back home ith only 15 000 or 18000 or 22000.Working for nothing, you see.

  • awesome :o i hope i can do that one day. i may be a girl but i can drive one and when im 21 im going for the exams to drive a big one.

  • Good on you. Its a dangerous job but thats what makes it fun and exciting. Im applying to be a truckie aswell. But its good too see a girl giving it a go!!! :)

  • cool vid

  • How do I get a job in with ICE ROAD trucking company and what is the potential income per season?

  • wait... is that the ice i hear cracking? from inside the truck? that is too intense.

  • me and a buddy from work are trying to convince the boss to let us run the ice roads next season..

  • Because of Global warming and Climate change we are being told that everything is melting up there?

  • It's a methane time bomb waiting to happen. Northern Canada and Siberia are both turning into huge positive feedback loops for putting methane into the atmosphere.

  • what stat is the ice road in

  • where are you?

  • This was in Ontario, north of Red Lake.

  • what were u hauling and stay safe on the ice

  • Great..

    See you next year..

  • I just drive in Ice road Its now gone ! :( but i drive now for Holland ,, Small country,,

  • Hello!

I realy have respect for you guys out there!

    I`m a truckdriver from Holland.

Can you handle the cold out there?

What kind of truck do you drive?

    Keep on truckin!

    Greets from Holland/ the Netherlands!

  • I think that a dutch friend of mine is going to do them with me this winter. He arrived in Canada about the same time as I did.

The cold is not a big problem as a rule. I had a Kenworth T800 on the Winter Roads, but I am changing company now so don't know what I will have yet.

    Have a great day.

  • my greatest dream is to become one of the ice road truckers :D...but driving 15kph for up too 100km doesnt seam too fun though :/

but anyways i live in sweden so its a kinna far away dream

    keep trucking!

  • should by an Scania r620 v8;)

  • They would never handle it. They would fall apart!

    BTW, I drive a Volvo now! :-)

  • lol just woundering. but is the public allowed on these roads? and do u ever stop to do any ice fishing?

  • They are classed as highways so you could use them, but why would you.

  • ice fishing, we have thousands and thousands miles of privet trucker roads here for loggers, but public is allowed on em at their own risk, so anything happens its their fault no matter wut. no, i was just woundering.

  • whats the speed limit on the ice road

  • Depends. They change sometimes, depending on the temps. 15kmh as a rule though.

  • so your a real ice road trucker i tryed it once about killed my self doin it

  • ignore all the crap that you read below!

put a norm in the cab and keep the stick in high and the norm wont know what the sticks there for nevermind the switch!

de clutch all ya want it just takes longer! lol

experience is what it takes norms!

  • noticed you had to pick up some speed off the ice to get up that little incline. I got one video posted here now, similar terrain. drivings the easy part? winter weather and trucks are my peeve!

  • Again, meaning??

You sad little character. At least, if you wish to insult people, try to learn the language first. You should, perhaps, take up a hobby like watching grass grow or paint dry as it clearly would suit your lack of intellect.

    Idiot.

  • you're too articulate for a truck driver.

are there any drivers who actually double clutch it on every shift? I only know of one (old) guy who does it, everyone else doesn't.

  • Why thankyou. A touch of education left me with the tools but the lack of will to use them.

It's funny, I tend to use the clutch in the low range now I am back on a standard, and because it is a Volvo the engine responds faster than the Cat so I double declutch more than I used to.

  • meaning??

  • What a dumbass for suggesting this is fake. Like to see him get out there and chain up the driver axles and then thaw out a frozen truck. What a dumbass. Be safe out there man!

  • Always work on the safe side. Nobody else can do that for me. You forgot about the shovelling 3 tonnes of snow when you do end up in the rhubarb, or cutting trees to refill the ice bridges when they wash out!! lol!

  • Cool video, dude. I still want to try that, damn it
