Why? There is really good musician in heavy metal bands. You really need to know music to play heavy metal. You need to study very hard. So I think it is easy to a heavy metal band do such things.

Classical music (Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, etc.) is the very first FORM of metal music. The arrangements, they way the songs are built, all of it, is seen somewhere in metal music. It is absolutely NO coincidence that metal bands like this can play ballads and other stuff resembling classical music. It's also the main reason why Metallica (and a bunch of other bands lately, and even Steve Vai) did a concert with an orchestra. Still waiting to see a (w)rapper do the same... with success.

@Robearwgl I was thinking the exact same thing. BUT, Skolnick did play in Testament for a while. Again, not hardcore...but thrash. Also, Al Pitrelli (west coast tours) is a predominantly metal guitarist...but he is a studio musician, so he can play it all.
