  • Oh, Look, I love classic cars

  • Bluto has to be the greatest character actor of all time--he's done more roles than Sir Lawrence Olivier!

  • olive oil is the weirdest girls name I've ever heard.

  • i love bluto:))

In this case they are movers in the same company.

Not necessarily pals but more of a colleague.

  • Aww Bluto! I feel so sorry for him.

  • These old cartoons are really funny. The newer cartoons these days aren't even funny.

  • yep gotta luv the classics nice and simple

  • Leave it to a women to brake up a friendship..lol..not that Popeye and Bluto are really good friends....women seem to get in the way of that.

  • One of the best popeye cartoons.

  • steroids are definately in that spinach

  • 0:00 - 0:03 'thump' , 'thump' sounds like the lid of an old 1970's stereo turntable. 5:43 when i was a kid, that ending "the job i did finish cause i ate my spinach..." was...i guess the film broke, they chopped out a part, then spliced it back together when I was a kid. they first had the full part, then chopped. it happened to a number of cartoons as I remember from my childhood.

  • This is a 1956 color remake of the classic "Let's Get Movin" from Fleischer's bros

  • W00T

  • Let's face it, Popeye is Hot and Bluto is Not

  • @LJersey80 : You can say that again.

  • Another favorite. I thought Popeye would murder him after all these years.

  • What does he say at the end?

  • i think it glitched.....i think he's supposed to say ' the job i did finish......

  • maybe

it was completley edited when i was a kid...

  • Popeye's awesome!

  • Yeah, no one was violent before cartoons.

  • @SydCosmic That makes no sense how about the Cilivil war? death How about Spaniyards? Took land for fun how about atilla the hun? Killed and raped villigers (Including childeren) And you're telling me that's not violent. Dumbass e_e and btw their's always been crime Pirates for instant's raider's of the sea. It's not like people started to get violent because a cartoon dude. Pay attention in class dumbass e_e

  • @linkinparkrox12345 dude, its called sarcasm.

  • old ass cartoon lol true though

  • 5:25 must have hurt! Lol, if I was treated like that I woulda died on the spot, no doubt.

  • these things always happen in cartoons: the characters are usually immortal.

  • Well only in these kind of comedy cartoons.

In more serious cartoons they are not immortal.

  • cool !

does anyone remember the episode that was like half real and half cartoon, it had sum kid in the beginning doing sumthing with spinach i think

  • there was a movie with robbin willams but it had no animation that i remember

  • hehehehhehe, popeye, muito engraçado!

  • LOL 5:30

  • seems olive has a 2 barrel stash of whisky!

  • Why cartoon network have no Popeye show anymore? I miss Popeye..

  • in cartoons you can fit anything in a suitcase lol

  • Firearms are also non-lethal

  • lol

  • This is the final short to have the "A Famous Studios Production" screen. The studios would now become "Paramount Cartoon Studios."

  • heard bout some guy talkin bout dis show on de hour of power(christian church) cool show i gueesz

  • Popeye is cool, "de hour of power" is not

  • 5 *****

  • I feel like I'm 4 again. I'm 14 now, I used to watch this all the time when I was 4. I loved this episode.

  • same, i'm 15 and i used to watch this all the time when i was a midget

  • Same here

  • Amazing how best friends Popeye and Bluto can become bitter rivals when both see and want a(symbolicaly) beautiful woman like Olive.I notice that Bluto called her Babe while Popeye called her Miss.Could this be a slight lesson in politeness for the young viewers?

  • jajaja bluto always gets mad at popeye

cuz he can do better than him

    i love popeye

  • i want 1 of those vacum cleaners

  • lol

  • BYE-BYE, THE FINICH

    CAUSE I ATES ME SPINACH,

    I'M POPEYE THE MOVING MAN!!!

    - Jack Mercer

  • this was my beloved childhood

  • haha i wish i was a child again

  • What are the words at 5:47-5:55?

  • Popeye is finished because he ate spinach.I am the moving man.

  • POPEYE IS FINISHED

    CAUSE I ATES ME SPINACH,

    I'M POPEYE THE MOVING MAN!!!

    - Jack Mercer

  • It would be cool if people could do those things in real life.

  • Popeye can fold clothes through a vacuum cleaner...yes, he's that amazing.

  • SPINACH

  • I always laugh at the part at 2:23 when Bluto knocks Popeye out of the apartment with his butt.

  • Bros before hos, man.

  • i love popeye!

    why'de they take it way?

    i ♥ olive oyl's voice

  • dope, it always cracks me up when bluto straight up decks popeye

  • Ooh crap at 5:20-5:27

    "WELL BLOW ME DOWN!"

  • the best popey was the pearl harbor one

  • What happened, 'MrPresident', was that Paramount's "Famous Studios" was forced to work within tighter budgets and less outlets for their theatrical cartoons by the early '50s- you can tell around the time they introduced "Casper", "Herman & Katnip", and their other "Noveltoon" stars {Baby Huey, Little Audrey, etc.} that everything on screen started to look "cheap". By 1956, there was even less money to work with, and the animation began to look even cheaper...

  • Yes and now look at the crap Japanese ones that are unwatchable

  • nice cartoon actualy

  • Wow, Olive has a lot of dishes having in mind she lives alone...

  • yes its true

  • 2:17 haha!

  • Oliver that size must have a big head because it gets stuck in most episodes

  • put more popeyes on pls!

  • nah.. i wonder why people gets more malicious nowadays. thats why population booms.

  • Alot about the newer popeye episodes were wrong, mainly the music and voices. I loved the incoherent mumbling from Popeye & Bluto, and their voices and design were just better in the older 30s and 40s cartoons and the two golden episodes (Ali Baba & Sinbad (and the original Sinbad cartoon, not the raped 50s flashback episode)).

  • man i love it when they do the instant packing things...this show rules......

  • It does have the AAP logo at the end, but that end print was wrong.

  • u sucky suck.

  • this appears to be a re-make of the Fleischer b&w version...the theme and gags are nearly identical.

  • Does anyone have "On Our Way To Rio" in a verion that can be uploaded? That's my favorite cartoon, but it's so rare.

  • Even though this and my copy both have the orginial titles, my PD copy is much brighter and has clearer sound. I'm not sure what it would be like when it gets relased on the last Popeye volume.

  • why did I get a poor rating for my comment? I am telling my truth.

  • Why are all the guys attracted to Olive?

  • lol! Olive Oyl has a Brooklyn accent in this one!

  • Popeye and Bluto can't sailor uniforms in this cartoon cause they are now moving men.

Popeye sings Olive Oyl in this end of A Haul In One cartoon.

  • this is baced off another black and white vidio. its a little different

  • Wow!!! *eyes pop* *hats twirl* *pipe spins* I bet if a young person watched this today they probably wouldn't know that was a smoking pipe.

  • damn you didnt get the last part

  • popeye's laugh is so funny!!

  • the classics were good but I miss seeing the later ones with Brutus and the Sea Hag.

  • open sesame

  • I don't know exactly when they took this show off the air but i'm part of the last generation that was lucky enough to see this cartoon!

  • olive's voice annoys the crap outta me

  • i wish popeye would kill bluto once and for all, he needs to die because bluto tries to kill popeye.

  • Then, he'd be out of a job.

  • ugh..I don't get the animators..olive oil is so..un-attrative.. :/

  • The buddies premise is present in many of the Popeye cartoons, pretty much all the ones where they already know who Bluto is. In those cases, Bluto is Popeye's navy buddy, or other kind of co-worker who's always double-crossing him. The degree of friendliness between changes somewhat per episode.

  • i was worried for a second Popeye and Bluto PALS? but then they started fighting and i was like phew. This episode was funny aswell.

  • awesome!!!

  • olive oyl is always a slut when popeye and bluto are around

  • There's always been a rivalry between Popeye and Bluto over Olive's affections in these cartoons- sometimes, they're "buddies" until Olive comes between them; other times, they're already rivals in the perpetual competition....or Bluto is the "other man" in a foreign or exotic setting who fancies Olive, etc. It all depended on who was writing the story, and who directed it. Famous Studios' cartoons of the late '40s and '50s weren't considered "monotonous" for nothing!

  • Ya' all notice that some of these Popeye shorts that Bluto and Popeye start off as buddies and end up fighting because of Ms.String Bean.

  • yeah i can't believe they go through all of that over their friendship for a skinny bitch, lol!

  • Maybe she puts out on the first date? (And maybe the second, third, and all following ones, too.)

  • Ha! nice one.

  • It was the 50s dude.

  • "Relaxed" is hardly the word, 'pifras'- by 1956, when this cartoon was produced, the budgets for "Famous Studios" theatrical cartoons had been so tightened (thanks to competition from television), the animators didn't have the luxury of more detailed model sheets or animation- director Seymour Kneitel was basically running the studio, and he was under strict deadlines to grind out these cartoons in the cheapest way possible!

  • popeyes eye switches every shotthe animators must of had a relaxed attitude towards model sheets

  • i love popeye and i'm a man.
