He played well in his rookie season, and played very well as the Nucks backup but for some reason, like other players in the past, he just didn't play well for the leafs. Larry Murphy being another example.
@yoyomon I saw in your profile you are from Chicago, and thus could be a Hawks fan. Even if your not, you can see how bad they were for a long time before they rebuilt the team and won a cup. Now the leafs have been getting great goal tending from James Reimer and they are still alive in the playoff picture. Even if they miss, like everyone expected, they are still one of the youngest teams in the league and will only improve more, like the Hawks did before they won the cup last year.

Personally I think he's a great goalie. Like so many if he had just been given a chance he would be a definite starter now. Look at Boucher, Leighton, Bryzgalov and Howard. All were given a chance after being back ups for extended periods of time, and all proved themselves. Raycroft hasn't had a massive chance to prove himself, and besides that save against Phoenix last season was amazing!!
raycroft was an outstanding back up in vancouver and he outplayed roberto luongo at times. he deserved more starts. huge respect for the guy and i wish him the best of luck in his career

Plus we wont resign Giggy who is 6mil and that would make up for it and more.

if kadri makes it next year, he'll be a second liner and will continue as one for several seasons. Colborne is not an elite prospect, never was, and wont play in the nhl next year and possibly no years. blacker in his final year of junior eligibility is not putting in a ppg. gardiner looks good but the laughs had to take back a bad contract in order to get him= no cap space for your #1 centre

Not as good as Kadri's but Big Joe was playing on a mess of a team in Providence. Joe has everything he needs to be a 1-2nd line centre in the NHL. And I read your comment wrong and thought you said reason not seasons lol. But you still don't claim why. Kadri is top-line talent and if he gains more strength he will be on the first line probs

Points are nice in the ahl but because a player gets them doesn't mean he's bound for a first line and stardom in the nhl. As i said one day kadri might be there, but if you think that will be next year, you need a map. after giving the deserved raises to macarthur, schenn and reimer, the laughs will be lucky to have they 5.5 in cap space they have now.

@goldbrownneverafrown The difference is Kadri dominates in the A and has tremendous offensive talent, I never liked Tlusty that much and didn't think much of him even when he was playing well in the A because he didn't look that good. Kadri is a dynamic playmaker with great hands and vision and goal scoring ability. Schenn will probably get 3mil and Macarthur raise of 2mil and Reimer would probably cost us 1 mil. Plus we wont resign Giggy who is 6mil and that would make up for it and more.

How do you get 5.5 from 18 mil (including Giguere's contract out) Schenn gets a 1 mil raise, McArthur gets a 2ml raise to around 3 mil, Reimer will get only 1 mil (not completely proven and he doesn't care about the money he said) Boyce won't get a raise and Gunnar maybe. So thats about 4-5 mil not including other junior contracts needed to sign so around 7 mil at the end. 18-7=11mil left at least. Assuming no trades at the draft.

24 mil seems like alot, but when you have to sign 11 players and plan on paying 6 million for Richards (which he likely wont sign for) you still have to sign 10 players at an average of 1.8 million to avoid going over the cap.

But come on... the Canucks have been MORE THAN SATISFIED with Andrew Raycroft right now. There's a massive debate going on here on whether we should put in Razor over Luongo in the playoffs. @KRug47 Well the whole argument is that we should play Razor because he's playing a solid game. And for now, Razor>crap Luongo. The coaches have to decide what to do with these remaining 4 games. They can definitely play Luongo, but at the risk of destroying his confidence heading into the playoffs. Razor could start these games and give Lou a fresh slate, but maybe Lou should ride this slump out and use these last 4 games to do it.
