  • Awsome tone and great phrasing as usual!! Would love to know where you got those great jam tracks. Those 59's sound nice and creamy thinking of switchig out the burstbuckers out of my cutom shop vos les paul.Whats your opinion an the dimarzio pure paf 36 aniversary pick-ups?

    Thanks Nick

  • Were the 59's in the guitar when you got it?

  • @HearingLossProvider Yes, got it used off ebay.

  • Man, that is excellent. I really enjoy listening to your lead to this track. I have been playing this video a lot. Thanks much.

I hope to find the backing track and give it a go too.

  • @DaMidwestMan The track is the video response below. Thanks so much for the great comment.

  • Cool! smooth tone and playing..................... Love your new guitar, please send it to me!

  • Great sklabopping around the the neck there....lol... great feel brotha..but you always do have great feel and tone in all the videos....

  • The creamiest tone I have heard in years. Well, since your last video anyway...

  • @jreichbart Thanks Jake. Yeah ,I'm digging this new Les Paul so far. It has vintage output Duncan '59's in it and it sings with some gain. I really dig lower output pickups these days as you retain more of the guitars natural tone even in high gain settings. That is why I started winding my own pickups to get that old PAF tone. I've been exploring your V chord theory towards some solo ideas. It works in that context well too if done right and that's the hard part LOL.

  • Sounds great, very nice playing!! ( as always)

  • Love this funky cool one Mike! Sounds awesome on the headphones! Your playing is always fantastic!! *****

  • @cameragirlJane Thanks Jane!

  • Groovy! Awesome sounds Mike, could be theme music for Starsky & Hutch driving around the city in that red car with the white stripe!

You're such an amazing lead player, really enjoyed hearing your chops on this!

    your friend, Amy

  • @amccann7 Yeah, that would work or a 70's porno flick LOL. Thanks so much Amy. I also enjoy everything you play and sing, very gifted musician you are.

    Mike

  • @SIXSTRING63 But a GOOD porno flick! LOL Man, this is just perfection! I am loving that LP. Saw a 91 LP Standard on CL the other day in Mint condition. Sent the link to Zen because he needs one. Hopefully. he'll grab it. These days, it takes too many liquor stores to afford a used LP. LOL This is right there with all your other BESTS! Do you sell it in a pill form? I want that!

  • @KP11520 Thanks Keith. I'd like to see Tom with a good LP too. I've been telling him that for 2 years now. There is just something about a Les Paul that you just don't get with another guitar. Years ago I did not care about them but since I bought the one Epi off Dean40 from VB I just got the itch to get some more Gibson's. I've had my old custom for years but it is in need of work and weighs more than a dump truck.

  • @SIXSTRING63 Had to come and hear it again today. I was some craving more tasty LP standard. My friend when I was in my 20's had a 76 or so LP Custom Blonde with maple neck and fretboard. It was a ton. Now I would need a walker to play it live. In fact, one for the guitar too! LOL This one should go on your next album.

  • sunuva....smooth runs.....killer tone too...i really like how you play, Mike.. so now i am going to proceed to STEAL ALL YOUR KILLER RIFFS from this video.....aaahaha..;) THANKS for doing this! Pat

  • @VerseVisa Steal all you want Pat. Hell ! I stole most of em to begin with. LOL

    Mike

  • Inspiring stuff as usual Mike; ) I need to watch vids like this as I'm stuck for ideas at the moment!

  • @mattchurchill Hell Matt, I wish I was stuck as you. I just rehash same old stuff most of the time. Once in a while something will come in my head that is different and fresh. Every blind Squirrel finds a nut sometimes LOL.

    Mike

  • Upstate NY's bar scene needs to find more people like you.

    Awesome tone man.

  • @THEREALD3AL Thanks Bro. There is no bar scene in upstate NY anymore. If you do find a place to play you have compete with idiots who will go in and play for $150 and free drinks and club owners think it's a good deal. I made more money playing 30 years ago.

  • Sounds great Mike!

  • @Smokeater68 Thanks Bro !! on vacation this week so got some jammin' time planned out.
