  • Did anyone see the last Indiana Jones movie? In the car race scene at the start who performs the song that's playing in that scene?

  • great voice ! matchless.

  • 6 dicks are feminists.

  • I didn't know Norm McDonald sang?

  • One eyed cat peeping in a seafood store...they were a lot more subtle with lyrics back then

  • You can't say that any more ... they are fully aware of their legal rights and they know how to abuse the situation .Am i right girls or am i right !!

  • Elvis is in there.

  • clue <3

  • Just sent this to my girlfriend to get her back in the kitchen :3

  • Written by Charles Calhoun, who also wrote the Clovers' "Your Cash Ain't Nothing But Trash."

  • music was more important than looks back in those days ,probably to do with very little tv back then.as soon as tv took off looks wer more important than talent[yes fabian hold your head in shame] its been the same ever since with one or two exeptions

  • <3 this man..

  • Bill Haley's the father of Rock n Roll.

  • Bill Haley was the first rock and roller to export rock and roll all over the world!!!!!

  • This is such an appropriate song for the people on the East Coast of the U.S. We had a 5.9 earthquake today.

  • @haileyalexis709

Is it bad this started playing on the Oldies station when it happened?

  • @CQCDeath Someone probably did that as a joke. It could be a coincidence too.

  • The only thing worse than Political Correctness is your terrible spelling. If you don't like this song or the times it represents- don't watch it.

  • this is such a sexist song

  • @BananaSandwich1 True. But if u watch mad men for example u'll say the same thing. The atmostphere was sexist by that time. But we have to admit that men were HOTTER than today, and not as rude as they'r today with women..

  • i dunno its opinion really but certainly we have much more equality today, people are smarter, more consious of their health and their exsistance in the world and more compassionate than ever before in history [in general]

  • @BananaSandwich1 Yeah, keep telling yourself that.

  • @southwriter fine gp back in time and enjoy being boiled alive for being a witch oh yeah aural sex was illegal to but dont worry u'll be to busy in a war to worry about anything anyway

  • I love the original version, but this sounds really cool, too.

  • I dont know much about the old rock' n roll, just know that my father was blown away by Bill Haley and the Comets and he thought Elvis was pish. He said people tore music theatres apart back in the day when they heard Bill Haley and he said it was the most life changing music he ever heard.

  • @jazzybenigno There are a lot of dances that incorporate the grind. My favorite would be the tango. The thing is, it's embellished with steps, turns and spins. Nobody is out there teaching people how to be creative on the dance floor. If you take any of those gals that you think only know how to grind and actually dance with them... you may find that they are usually willing partners and it's the guys who have no clue on how to dance.

  • don't start with that Bill Haley was average joe who stole the black man's music

  • @flyinv1967 he didn't. You made it the point.

  • @flyinv1967 poor boy, had your lunch money stolen by whitie again?

  • @TheOnlyOneKingElvis ha ha i never had any lunch money to be stolen just a boloney sandwich for lunch:)

  • @flyinv1967

    Thank you for saying that

  • @jazzybenigno ya really

  • thumbs up for Clue the movie!!!

  • Can you imagine if you were in Bill Haley's shoes at this time? He was just an average Joe, and knew of this kind of music, and played it at a birthday party once and everyone went wild -whereas it was taboo if it was played by a black person. He took advantage of an economic opportunity, but hopefully Big Joe Turner & others whose songs he covered got compensated.

  • @BUCollegeDems your talkin out of your ass mate.

  • not the original

  • Bill Halley the real King Of Rock And Roll

  • miss the music from 50s-80s so much even some early stuff from early 90s ;)

  • Of all the versions Bill recorded of this, this is the second best after the original Decca version. (The WB version would rank third).

  • Yh shake, rattle and roll me up an omelette woman!! Then when your done with that, do some house work!!

  • Compared to the version from 1954 this one is a lame duck. Sorry. Image 30 old people over 80 clapping their hands to this rhythm.

  • fuck music class at uvu

  • Listen to the bass!!! This version's better than original

  • @rockbluesjazzcska

Maybe the bass is better, but the rest?

  • cool reverb inside this version;)

  • he looks like buzz lightyear here 0:58

  • RE: version comments

This actually IS the original version, lyrically, as sung by Big Joe Turner [Haley was a fan]. Haley couldn't get away with it in the U. S. back then. You'll also find Turner's version posted here.

  • @portagee66 how are these the original lyrics? it doesnt have the "i go over the hill and way down underneath" lyric... among a bunch of other differences.

  • @theZodiacDigital This is what happens when you have an 8 year old talking while you try to watch and listen. :D Sorry about that. At any rate, this is not the "milquetoast" American pop version, which another poster lauded both as the original and as a "better" version, to which I was responding. "Open mouth, insert foot."

  • @portagee66 : Hiya, could you help me? Who else covered this song back then? Now I have listened to 3 performers but I cannot find the version I am looking for. They play it in our Modern Jive class sometimes and that guy has some peculiar voice. Definitely not Elvis :-) Who else could it be?

  • @kathykisslight1 : I have found it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is not a very old version actually! It is Huey Lewis :-)

  • @Chimbo65 FROM THE MOVIE CLUE

  • @maxismax100

Very well, but the recording is still from 1968.

    Bills original was from 1954.

  • @Chimbo65

Incorrect, Bill Haley recorded this cover of "Shake, Rattle and Roll" in 1954. It is lyrically correct to the original writing by Jesse Stoner.

Haley did indeed release recordings with Sonet, however this particular cover of Haley's was also released in the US on August 21, 1954 and reached #7 on the Billboard charts.

Search "Billboard chart for August, 21 1954" and you'll find it listed at #26 "Best Seeler In Stores"

    Research is your friend.

  • @Weps21

Please don`tell me anything about Bill Haley.

I`ve been listening to his music since 1974,and have a big collection of his records.

    No,this version is from 1968!!

This one Bill starts singing in the begining, but in the 1954 version there is a musical intro

for about ten seconds before Bill comes in.

I know about the chart history as well.
