  • I think this episode went over my head when I was little. I think I still thought Pigeon Man was just a crazy guy at the end of the episode, but now that I watch it again, I see the sadness in his eyes, and how he wasn't crazy, just sad. Also, I don't think I ever noticed the 'face' in the sun as he flew away :)

  • Why did they cancel this!?!

  • I can't watch this without crying. The ending is bittersweet. After such a great day, Pigeon man gets reminded that humans are cruel. But at the same time, thanks to Arnold he has hope that perhaps their are more like Arnold, that are willing to get to know him and treat him and his birds with respect. Arnold gave Pigeon Man hope. Man, this show was so deep, truly one of the greatest.

  • They told me i could be anything, so i became a pigeon

  • "Always wash your berries before you eat them. And fly towards the sun." :')

  • Deep stuff and the music goes with it so perfectly

  • The wrong subtitles are trippy

  • Me in a nut shell

  • I only just realized this was a Grapes of Wrath reference.

  • This was the first cartoon that actually got me to cry, especially for Pigeon Man. He's shunned from society and basically an outcast. Then we get a bunch of cruel kids to destroy the one place he calls home. But thank God we have a kid like Arnold who sees this man as more than just a reject. It goes to show that even in the worst of situations, there is always one person who understands these people. I'm honored to have grown up in the 90s, back when television actually taught you about life.

  • I wonder how many it would take to carry a coconut.

  • this is deep man..

  • If anybody wants to watch the episode, I just found it online. And no I am not a spam bot. videoweed.es/file/de6844041ac22 You're welcome :)

  • When I was watching this I thought he was going to jump off the roof and kill himself but the viewer wouldn't see it.

  • I was almost in tears... until I heard; "Wherever there's a bird in need of seed, I'll be there."

    lol

  • hey arnold is the realest show i know.

  • It reminds me of the Grapes of Wrath

  • Could you upload the entire episode?

  • Every time I watch this scene, I can't help but think "Damn...why aren't cartoons like this anymore?!" This is one of my favorite Hey Arnold episodes. The message, the character of the Pigeon Man...I love it ^-^

  • @ScarletPhoenix17 I agree, you'd think cartoons would get better with time but nope... So glad I was able to grow up with these shows! :)

  • "Remember Arnold, Navajo..."

  • This is depressing...

  • FUCKING /v/, this is making me sad and nostalgic ;_;

  • *weeping*

  • Is weird how when I saw this episode the first time, I can´t understand why they destroyed Pigeon man´s home.... But now, I can understand that and even can understand Pigeon Man´s feelings by my own experience. I love so much Hey Arnold and all that represent to my childhood.

  • This scene makes want to cry

  • i hate what the new nick has become. its now just a bunch of non creative trash with no meaning or value.i hate whoever decided to make this way and i bet that the kids who watch nick now would appreciate these old and insightful cartoons that do have meaning

  • woooo this is deep! i like that you put this up, this is me now in my life at 22

  • What I like about old nick shows like Hey Arnold, Doug, etc. is that they show real problems in the world. It actually has emotion, unlike the shit on T.V we get today.

  • 1 got too much exposure to a lot of today's cartoons and disliked this without watching because he thought they where all the same.

  • @FragMan69 Jesus Christ dude.

  • people are such dicks, no wonder he hangs out with animals instead, Animals= You can trust and Love unconditionally, plus they will follow you all throughout. People= Smartest species in the world, yet such dicks. they grow up to be addicts, alchoholics, scammers,wife-beaters, etc.

  • @TWENEER5 because animals are slaves for human comfort and work as human see it and taking care of them makes us think they love us.

  • @OfThings they are not slaves, slaves= One bound in servitude as the property of a person or household. or A black man, loljk animals are not "slaves" they are pets. we dont force them to do stuff for us. Actually, we are the ones paying for their food and we give them a house to stay in.

  • Why are humans so quick to judge other humans? Why are humans so cruel to our own species? Why do people have the desire to disrupt others because of the difference with their personalities? I just watched this episode after watching it about 8 years ago. What a freaking powerful message... Wow! Back then, kids were learning about how cruel, disgusting, and violent our human race is. What are kids learning about these days? Todays media is simply based upon entertainment rather than meaning.

  • @snowconedxx39 The sad thing is a lot of people who are into entertainment request meaningful things kind of like this but then they go to lengths tearing other people apart and bully them for having a different taste than they do. It's sad, but you'll find it easily on here, IMDb, and well just about anywhere else really, really sad stuff. But I agree, most kid shows today SUCK, they're too afraid to do anything that will teach kids about the world and the people who inhabit it.

  • @snowconedxx39 Understand that there are both righteous and unrighteous judgement, but yes this episode had a very meaningful and deep message. Today, it's all about poop jokes and retardation. All flash and no substance. You can see clearly how they have affected this generations youth.

  • @snowconedxx39 It's simply human nature. People of different races create racism. People are indifferent to people with different religions, appearances, activities, that may not be viewed as normal. Hell, did you know that ALL humans have an automatic reaction in the amygdala in the brain upon seeing someone of another race (it creates anxiety)? Everything humans do is obviously, purely psychological, and the way they act normally came from how they were raised... etc etc etc

  • Anybody who dislikes this doesn't have a heart...

  • if you have kids get netflix and make them watch all the 90's cartoons

take away the hanah montana and all this new crap that's on tv

  • "Always wash your berries before you eat them, and fly toward the sun!"

I think what Pigeon Man means is make your choices wisely and go for what makes you happy in the world.

  • hey arnold really had some beautiful moments.

  • When I was 5 I thought this was a weird episode but now I see the significance

  • Pigeonman: "remember..."

    Captions: "navajo"

  • this taught me so much when i was a kid. i still think about it. thats what brought me here.

  • I seriously feel very sorry for future generations. I just don't understand why people don't understand what went wrong.

  • People are gonna balk when I say this... but my hero MJ was just like the pigeon man. I know he's gone but wherever he is, I hope that his spirit has taken flight...

  • Hey Arnold is truly a show that represents the good nature of the few good hearted people in the world. One of the greatest cartoons ever.

    " Fly toward the sun.."

  • Am I the only one crying? Arnold is symbolic of what human beings should and can be.... my kids watched this in the 90s and Arnold has always reminded me of my son, now a freshman in college. I love this scene and what a great show.

  • @17monticello1

    no. lol. im crying too..

  • @17monticello1

i think it's because i can relate to the "pigeon man" a little.

  • @17monticello1 I was really hoping Arnold would find out Harold and the others did it.

  • Damn the 90's was amazing

  • This episode is about the ugly side of human nature. Humans do have a very cruel side.

  • @qwertasdcfghjklmo24z I hear ya man, and I'm one to admit that. I used to be just like Harold and the other kids who wrecked Pigeon Man's home. I cared little for anyone I saw as different. But after watching this episode when I was a teenager, I realized how selfish and arrogant I was. I've seen the errors of my ways and made changes.

  • where can i watch this full episode? i really want to show it to my lil sister. i use to watch hey arnold all the time and now she's watching it. i want all cihldren to continue to watch this show bc not only is it funny but it actually teaches you something.

  • @alibuttons

Netflix has every episode of Hey Arnold! (Except for Parents Day and the movie). I'm glad you want to show Arnold to a young kid.

  • @alibuttons thank you :)

  • @alibuttons: Here's a better place: watch anime dub.com. They have all of "Hey Arnold!" & best of all, it's FREE. To me, it's better than Netflix.

  • @robynsegg thank you so much!

  • @alibuttons: You're welcome!

  • "It's people I don't understand."

  • this thing has deep meaning. Oh I am so thankful for Arnold. You shaped me.

  • yeah one of my all-time favorites as well. this stuff is inspirational man. and I'm 21 now and it still gives me goosbumps.

  • This always made me sad. =(

  • i love this part
