toby is more deserving, he played against 6 top 40 rush defenses and ingram only played against one and that was florida in the SEC championship game. SEC defense way overrated, and toby led the nation in td's and rushing yards, far more consistent.

Toby Gerhart? Please. He is a great athlete, dont get me wrong. But he plays in a Pac 10 conference that is a mess this year and has no defense whatsoever. Mark Ingram is the best choice for the Heisman, hands down. I gurantee if Gerhart played in the SEC it would be a totally different story. Plus, to add more fuel to the fire, Stanford has lost 4 games. That just doesnt cut it for a Heisman winner. If you feel differently ,please reply to this so I can make you look and feel dumb. :)

Wow bud. That spelling is atrocious. But thats beside the point. Facts? Gerhart: Great athlete. Consistent... BUT, only against poor defenses. He hasnt been tested. Ingram: Excellent vision. Able to make quick cut's and is extremely quick on his feet. Now, I will agree that Ingram isnt explosive, speed wise. But he makes up for it in every other aspect. This guys clearly deserves it! Mark Ingram isn't even touching him on stats. In one article I read it said that he wasn't considered a "pre season" favorite. What kinda shit is that? Ingram splits carries with two other RB's on the team. Saban could have easily padded his stats against our weaker oppenents but took him out early. Keep in mind also that 30% of his yards have come after contact, and he's running in a conference geared toward stopping the run. That's a stat. I think Gerhart is impressive from what I've seen, but to throw Ingram under the bus is a little silly.

As a Black man and sports lover, I am irked at the "stacking" that goes on, especially in the NFL. White dudes can't play TB or CB, Black dudes ain't cut out for QB. It's all BS. You're absolutely right. Gerhart, the leading HS rusher in California High School history, was recruited by USC and they wanted to turn him into a linebacker...C'mon. I saw Alstott at Purdue where he creamed a pass rusher, later caught a pass out of the backfield and out ran an angle from a safety. No big deal? It is if you don't get your just due. I agree, Alstott had that kiss-ass attitude, kind of like Frank Nitti!!

It's so funny watching him run because defenders sometimes just bounce off him like little kids trying to tackle their dad.

Then sometimes you can see the defender thinking "oh man, how do I tackle this guy" then he just runs through him, or over him or around him.

He makes more runners look foolish than any back since Barry Sanders, just in a different way.
