  • I did actually notice that chickadee call! I had this video pulled up and was looking at something else online and actually clicked back to the video to see who made that call! Great capture here!

  • @KristyB5 Thanks! At first I wasn't quite sure what you were commenting about so I watched my video and I think I was just as surprised as you were because after two years I completely forgot about that last part!

  • cool : ) I remember when my cat tried to catch a bird and because the bird was in shock I managed to pick him up. It was a small brown bird, so pretty close up. It's weird when you see a wild bird so close.

  • Amazing clip! Thank you for posting. Pretty birds! I used to feed little chickens with flies, and one of them grew into a beautiful red rooster. He would follow me when I returned to the country a year later! Remembered me, and followed around.

  • Excellent. It's great fun to feed wild birds. We posted a video of our white breasted nuthatch you can find if you search YouTube for: Alfred the White Breasted Nuthatch.

  • Wow! So cool -- how did you do that?? Do you just stand still for a really long time?

  • Thanks for the comment! The chickadees and nuthatches at the popular trails around here are generally very tame and will come readily to your hand. You don't need to stand still or do anything special. All you have to do is stick your hand out and they come. The squirrels and deer are like that too. Away from the popular trails this generally doesn't happen, though.
