It is because of this video(or rather, God working through it) that I came to actually understand the Gospel.  I don't know how incomplete my understanding actually was at the time, but wherever it was, this was the extra push that was needed to make it finally click in my mind. That was about a year and a half ago, but I still find it amazing that God used a less than 3-minute video on Tenth Ave's website to teach me that heart-changing, life-transforming principle.

I think they just mean by the video that it doesn't work the other way around, where your "good deeds" make you righteous. Only Jesus makes us righteous. :)

@thegadgetfreak93 I think there are still prophets out there, but you have to discern who is real and who is not, because there are a lot out there that try to twist the truth to fit our own logic or their own agendas.

In fact, Christ warns us to watch out for false ones...from the times of the beginning of the Church to the time until He returns. :)

i completely disagree with this. we are what we do. we have to accept our consequences, and our actions are what defines us. if i go out and kill a guy, im a murderer. its that simple, yet at the same time it isnt that simple, because this all lies on a spectrum. now if i killed a guy in the name of saving millions of people, i may be deemed a hero to some but not to others. what we do in this life is who we are, and determines our legacy for being on this earth.

I agree with what you say partially. Yes people will get their punishment for their wrongdoings from God but as the music video shows, we are not what we do when redeemed by God. God cleans our slate if we fully confess and believe in our hearts that Jesus is Lord. Yes if you kill a guy you are a murderer but if you confess your sins to God and ask for forgiveness, your slate will be cleaned because Jesus died for our sins. What we do in this life isn't always who we are.

what we do in this life is not always who we are. God is the one to judge who you are. You might be helping those in need or blessing those in Africa. But inside, are you doing it for yourself or for God? It doesn't determine our legacy because our legacy as a family of God. Is to show EVERYONE the love of Jesus Christ. Our legacy was not meant to get rich and famous but to shed the light of God. We never had a legacy.All the fame and glory go to God. We are hands+feet

@xaznguitaristx Ok, i definitely get it now. its the Christian way of thinking. I am Jewish, and(may just be me) can't grasp the concept that all is forgive if we just ask for forgiveness. I'm not sure about Christianity, but first we must be able to forgive ourselves. Once we can truly do that, God may give us forgiveness. Also, I do somewhat see what you are talking about though, because I DID say on Earth, and he didn't. Our legacy on Earth may stay to what we did, but not our Eternal selves.

I can't get over how much he surprises me every time he says something new.
