Isa doesn't look like a jerk. He's just sarcastic and the more mature one out of the two. He also, as a Nobody, really cared about getting his and Axel's hearts back. More than Axel cares, because he became a selfish sap and left behind his longtime friend, Isa/Saix for two kids that only can provide him with a fake heart.
@Cyndane Um, Axel doesn't remember Ven. And Isa and Lea's relationship as Saix and Axel was a lot more complicated than Axel leaving Saix for Roxas because Roxas would make a better friend (which doesn't make sense considering Roxas is nothing like Ven and Axel remembers nothing of Ven)
Saix' ambitions and Axel's ambitions changed as their time in the Org moved forward. Even though they both wanted to take over the Org themselves and find their hearts, Saix began doing ti for power.
Axel might have wanted it for power at the beginning, but after meeting Roxas, he started to remember what it was like before wanting nothing and living for power. He remembered what friendship was and by then, Saix saw Roxas as an enemy to his and Axel's plans and Axel saw Saix as the enemy to his old emotions.
Isa and Lea were ambitious as kids, but ambitions become corrupt, which we see in Saix though his eye color. Saix fell into the darkness between the ten year gap while Axel didn't.
So technically, it was Saix who left Axel behind for selfish reasons. Axel's intentions were closer to his light-hearted nature of his Somebody.
Back to the Ven thing. Roxas only looks like and is influenced by Ven, but Roxas is not Ven so Axel never left Isa/Saix for a body he knew for a few minutes. But it was those lingering "memories" of Ven that subconsciously attracted Axel to Roxas. Axel doesn't remember Ven, but the heart, no matter where it is, is still strong to influence a Nobody.
@arelimoon29 I have a hard time believing that Saix was power hungry like the rest of the Organization traitors, especially with his last speech ever before he died, "Kingdom Hearts...where is...my heart...?". The other traitors could care less about getting their hearts back, and really just want Kingdom Hearts for power.

They need look at his last secret report for that date. He is flabbergasted that Roxas beat him. What is Kingdom Hearts? A Moon. Saix's power comes from? The Moon.

Even in the japanese version, before the english localization messed it up, he says to Axel that they need to remember their goals for their original selves. Why would Nomura go out of his way to make it seem like Saix wanted his heart for his humanity if he was power hungry?
@Cyndane Hmmm you may have a point but i think Lea is truly a good friend. Isa is the horrible friend XD. He's always putting Lea/Axel down both before and during their times at the organization. I wouldn't want to hang out with someone who's going to make me feel like a failure all the time, even if it is sarcastic. I prefer to be witha friend who simply enjoys my company and doesn't complain about what i do, no matter how childish or immature it may be.
@xceis I don't think Lea as Axel was truly a good friend. More than anything, he fits the bill of the "Magnificent Bastard" and "Poisonous Friend" trope on TV Tropes. He back-stabbed many of his allies in order to benefit himself, including Roxas. You know he wasn't completely honest with Roxas all the time (the same could be said for Saix), and neither of them liked that. Also, his obsession with "helping" or "protecting" Roxas and Xion rarely corresponds with what both of them actually want.
@xceis Just because Isa is sarcastic, doesn't mean he's cynical. The type of sarcasm that Isa has seems to be more of the banter type. I think that what the KH staff were trying to do was create that buddy friendship where two people are such good friends they can comfortably insult one another. I have that type of relationship with many of my close friends. Sometimes I would call them "turds" whenever they do something silly, but of course they know I never mean it to be harmful.
@xceis It's more of an inside joke because we got the 'turd' thing from Southpark. Another one of my friends, we tease and call her "Suzy" or "stripper child" due to this hilarious incident that happened sometime ago when we went out on the Las Vegas strip for Sadie Hawkins nigh (some drunk guy called her "Suzy" and told her to go meet him at a strip club, or something like that!!!). Of course, said friend knows we don't mean to intentionally harm her.
@Cyndane I guess you have a point. But if you compare Ventus and Lea/ Roxas and Axel to Lea and Isa's friendship, it makes Isa look really mean. He's even mean to Axel in the Org. So i dunno. Lea even said that their friendship was sad :P

@Espadaknight4 The secret ending did not imply that they would return... that's kind of a stretch. It's just some clips where the characters say Sora's name. Although it is a possibility.

I think its funny how 'Isa' is 'Saix' without the 'X' and the 'Sai' re-arranged, and 'Lea' is also 'Axel' without the 'x' and its remaining letters also rearranged.
It hurts to know that a friendship between Axel & Saix was lost. I mean look at them in this scene. Friends, and than in 358/2 days and KH2 pure enemies. It's tragic when you think about it. Although one thing I always wondered. How did Saix get his scar on his face? Did Axel give him that scar? Did one of the keyblade bearers do it? How did Saix change his attitude? I seriously hope this game answers those questions.
Naminé is revealed to be a special Nobody from Kairi's heart when it left Sora's body. Kairi had no darkness in her heart when it hid within Sora's body.When Sora impaled himself with the dark Keyblade, his body and soul were to create not only Roxas, but Naminé as well. As a result of this, she has none of Kairi's memories. Naminé's special birth in conjunction with the fact that Kairi's heart had been in contact with Sora's.
Dude... this game has so many puzzle pieces and with each game... they fit together. Freaking crazy... That's how Axel and Roxas are easy friends. And i think i have a theory... The people with the strongest of hearts and the most memories with friends are the ones who feel like they have hearts in the organization. I mean Lea even said it right there: If he's in people's memories, then he'll live forever. I think that includes his heart. Same deal with Roxas.
kingdom hearts is so awesome, at least theres no super twist and noone dies, the only one to get lucky that many times is sora, i wish that the new kh could be multiplayer, oh yeah and why does vanitas look like sora?
@TaiyoToTsuki Nomura explained in Ultima that "Sora supplements the damaged parts of Ventus heart, and as a result of Soras influence on those damaged parts, Vanitas face changed into the same as Soras." And that if "Riku was supplementing the missing parts of Ventus heart, Vanitas face would likely look like Riku." So it just depends on who Ven connected with.
I agree with Ventus: Lea's toys are pretty lame, too xD In fact, I take a pair of frisbees to be lamer than a wooden keyblade lol. And awh, foreshadowing to the VIII+XIII friendship! For some reason, I want Ventus to meet Axel, so Axel can say, "Are these [weapons] pretty lame NOW?!" hahaha.

Because only the Organization anagrams names. Watch Ven10 (by the same person who uploaded this) and you'll see where the X came from. Xion anagrams no1, no number 1, NO 1 (1 changed to an i). This was explained "between the lines" of some stuff.

Great comment, but, Axel did NOT fall in love with Roxas, they were just really good friends, like brothers, Axel loved Roxas like a little brother. Roxas and Xion were all Axel had. Roxas isn't Ven's Nobody, he's Sora's. Ven never turns into a Heartless.
And in a way, Namine' actually is a part of Sora because Kairi can't produce a nobody since she can't produce a Heartless. The Ansem Reports in KH2 explains it all.

Naminé is revealed to be a special Nobody from Kairi's heart when it left Sora's body. Kairi had no darkness in her heart when it hid within Sora's body.When Sora impaled himself with the dark Keyblade, his body and soul were to create not only Roxas, but Naminé as well. As a result of this, she has none of Kairi's memories. Naminé's special birth in conjunction with the fact that Kairi's heart had been in contact with Sora's.

Dude... this game has so many puzzle pieces and with each game... they fit together. Freaking crazy... That's how Axel and Roxas are easy friends. And i think i have a theory... The people with the strongest of hearts and the most memories with friends are the ones who feel like they have hearts in the organization. I mean Lea even said it right there: If he's in people's memories, then he'll live forever. I think that includes his heart. Same deal with Roxas.

kingdom hearts is so awesome, at least theres no super twist and noone dies, the only one to get lucky that many times is sora, i wish that the new kh could be multiplayer, oh yeah and why does vanitas look like sora?

@TaiyoToTsuki Nomura explained in Ultima that "Sora supplements the damaged parts of Ventus heart, and as a result of Soras influence on those damaged parts, Vanitas face changed into the same as Soras." And that if "Riku was supplementing the missing parts of Ventus heart, Vanitas face would likely look like Riku." So it just depends on who Ven connected with.

I agree with Ventus: Lea's toys are pretty lame, too xD In fact, I take a pair of frisbees to be lamer than a wooden keyblade lol. And awh, foreshadowing to the VIII+XIII friendship! For some reason, I want Ventus to meet Axel, so Axel can say, "Are these [weapons] pretty lame NOW?!" hahaha.

Because only the Organization anagrams names. Watch Ven10 (by the same person who uploaded this) and you'll see where the X came from. Xion anagrams no1, no number 1, NO 1 (1 changed to an i). This was explained "between the lines" of some stuff.

Great comment, but, Axel did NOT fall in love with Roxas, they were just really good friends, like brothers, Axel loved Roxas like a little brother. Roxas and Xion were all Axel had. And who on Earth would be dum enough 2 think Axel was Riku's nobody!? Only and idiot could of thought Riku and Axel had anything 2 do with eachother, and no letters of Riku's name were in AXEL, I always knew Axel's real name, the game guide 2 358/2 days explained how nododies get names. I followed those steps.

Roxas isn't Ven's Nobody, he's Sora's. Ven never turns into a Heartless.
And in a way, Namine' actually is a part of Sora because Kairi can't produce a nobody since she can't produce a Heartless. The Ansem Reports in KH2 explains it all.
