  • It seems that the older EcoDisc elevators creaked more, but the newer ones are more silent.

  • that one is a DEATHTRAP!!!

  • Interesting, since Kone MRL elevators in Little Rock I guess are rare.

  • Nice elevator. It sucks that I haven't ran into this type Kone here in Little Rock but I did see one at The Westin Parking Garage in Memphis.

  • The freight elevators use the metal floors, while the passenger elevators use rubber floors.

  • Which elevators in UT austin use this type of floor?

  • It's an industrial grade stainless steel diamond-plate floor.

  • What type of floor is that in the elevator?

  • So the building security personnel won't know I went in there to film the elevator.

  • Thank you!

  • You're welcome, and I could really understand.

  • I recently went to the Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH, to do some Christmas shopping, and I was about to get a good picture shot of Santa's Village from the Second Floor, but, a SECURITY GUARD came to us and said "No cameras.", which was rather dumb, and THEY CANNOT SAY THAT BECAUSE THERE IS A CAMERA STORE IN THE MALL!!!!! Next time I hear that, I will say, "Back off. We bought this camera about a few minutes ago at the camera store.", which I HATE SECURITY!!!! This will continue.

  • ***THIS CONTINUES HERE BECAUSE I WAS RUNNING OUT OF COMMENT SPACE.*** Security guards ruin it more when they won't let you make an elevator or escalator video. Security guards ruin it even more when they (or someone who works in or at a store at the mall) won't let you go backwards on an escalator. Security guards think they are the boss but the mall manager (or whatever place's manager) is really the boss. Security guards are nuckleheads and ALWAYS GET COAL FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Part 2: I know these pesky security guards ruin everything, and even arrest people with no warning. Yes, the mall manager is the true boss, however, riding the escalator backwards is not safe.

Here what certain people should get:

    Police officers & mall managers-Chocolate.

    Guards & criminals-Coal.

  • Well, the narrower the escalator, the more safer it is to go backwards on the escalator. If you want to try going backwards on an escalator, I highly recommend doing it on a single-file (very narrow) escalator.

  • Narrow or not, I would't ride the escalator backwards, since it's not safe at all, and I take elevator/escalator safety seriously.

  • As usual, kids like to go backwards as well as people who film elevators and escalators.

  • Yes, because children can do very peculiar things, even dangerous things like walking up & down escalators in the opposite direction.

  • Part 1: I just hate it when security guards, NOT reputable police officers tell people not to photograph, especially in a place with a camera store, and photography should be allowed during Christmas time, so people can enjoy the holidays.

  • You said this is at the Ronald McDonald House but the title said at a Children's Hospital Residential Hall. Why is that?

  • Or maybe it starts out bumpy, and then the bumps disappear naturally.

  • Cool. A little bumpy, they might want to fix that.

  • And I found out that Kone is moving from its old headquarters in Moline to Chicago.

  • Really? they do have a building there for thier high rise products they say.

  • Yes, the EcoSystem MR & Alta elevators are the high rise EcoDisc elevators.

  • Kone's HQ Is in the State I live in

  • I guess so.

  • No. It's the place where people can stay close to the hospital, so they could get to it quickly.

  • what do People have to stay close to a hosptital for?

  • So, if the person or child is very sick, they can get to the hospital very quickly.

  • so this place is for sick people?

  • No. This is used for the parents of the sick children.

  • is this like a Hotel? parents are loud to stay in a hotel like room at the Hospital in Pittsburgh thats where that schindler Haughton elevator is

  • Ronald McDonald? is taht a McDonalds?

  • I think they need to tighten some of the rails and wheels to make the ride smoother.

  • A ride like that will actually make the people in wheelchairs fear. But they have to use the elevator and don't want to fear it falling down the shaft from 4-1.

  • Why was the ride so crappy? I have been in quite a few of those in China, and all were perfectly smooth and quiet.

  • I don't know, maybe it was just the clanking from the guide rails.

  • MRL stands for Machine Room Less.

  • What does MRL stand for?

  • I know about the hydraulics, but this is an MRL elevator, since Kone hydraulics are no longer made.

  • Funny...I thought all Kone elevators with these fixtures were Monospace or Ecospace. But there are some Kone hydraulic elevators in my hometown with these fixtures.

  • Yes, it's the EcoSpace elevator with the EcoDisc motor.

  • the kone`s ecodisc elevator?

  • what is that creaking sound every time its on the 2nd level

  • Maybe it's because of the guide rails being squeaky on the 2nd floor.

  • Why were you here.

  • I just wanted to ride the elevator, since I heard about it on the news during their grand opening a few months ago.

  • Austin's Ronald McDonald House provides lodging, meals & support services for families with critically ill or injured children at little or not cost. Each floor has private suites for the families as well as community areas such as game room, computer room, meeting rooms. Austin's House is significant because it is the first LEED certified Ronald McDonald House in the world and also it will be the first LEED Platinum building in Austin and only the second LEED Platinum building in Texas.

  • That's just like the other houses for services, but a first in environmental protection for the Austin house.

  • Gota love them energy eficent elevators

  • So do I.

  • Notice the chime, its no ordinary chime used in US elevator fixture. Sounds like the doorbell and the ones in Europe. In addition to Kone's chime, they're also availiable by other manufacturer, Schindler HT Series and Otis's newest standard hall fixture.

  • Yes, and I wonder what ThyssenKrupp's "doorbell chime" would sound like.

  • Nice vid but creacky elevator

  • Yes, but that depends on where the person stands, like on the sides it creaks more than in the center.

  • Well, this of course is a residential building near a children's hospital, for the parents to stay in there at reduced/no cost.

  • Ronald McDonald House? What is here? What is on every floor?

  • Yes, since those elevators and their signal fixtures are getting very popular.

  • wow, almost the same fixtures and chimes, as the KONE EcoDisc elevator in my account.

  • Yes, but smooth, since it's an EcoSpace elevator.

  • Wow! Creaky elevator!
