I remember owning them as a kid. I saw their alt mode as more of really alien-looking vehicles (a lot of them have cockpits and other vehicle elements). The only real complain I had with him is that I found both of the feet robots really boring...

Fangs is named after his anti gravitational tank mode's "mandibles", plus South claw's name is like that because the name Deathclaw wasnt suitable for kids, plus Heart attack is named after his position in combiner mode, and Fright face's name is based upon his head mode as well. I am just telling you of why the names sounded like crap.

Let me tell you of what those "creature" modes really are. Like Frightface/Gillhead and Heart Attack are supposed to be Bio Mechanical Submarines while South Claw/Death Claw and Weird Wing/Barabat are supposed to be Bio Mechanical Jets and finally the other two monsters are both Bio Mechanical Tanks.

I found one way to fix some loose joints, you can take them apart and wedge some little strips of paper in between the pieces and it makes them nice and sturdy without damaging them. It worked for some of mine that wouldn't stand right.

if you research machine robo, they are suppose to monster robots and their japanese name is devil satan 6. if you see their japanese animation combination sequence its still one of the best animated combination scenes in japanese animation history.

The later transformers didn't need any extra parts to combine. All of the extra parts were translucent weapons which were pretty cool.

the best thing about this gobot gestalt is that the limbs are incredible retools. my only complaint is that Monstrous's colors pale in comparison to The Devil Satan Six; even DSS has a better name.

Monstrous looks pretty nice. The arms are its weakest point in my opinion, they don't really look like arms, they look like.. robots, hanging off to the side, which they are. The rest of him looks fairly convincing though. Nice review!

monstrous and puzzler are pretty interesting since the hands, feet, head aren't separate parts. They look nice too.

Do you by chance have the power armor sets? Those are fairly interesting also.

nice review, though part of me keeps getting the impression you werent huge on the go-bots.

But as for the go-bots in general, it seems to me like they tried to...use more technically complex ideas for stylish and seemless transformations while transformers won with the idea of less is more, leaving more for the imagination...but thats just me!
