Is this for real? Seems you haven't been playing enough or experienced many amps to really perfect good tone.... Why not turn the master up to get more gain instead of making your preamp tubes microphonic? If you have the cash to burn for that tone, by all means, but "good tone" also depends on playing style most of all, the quality of the cabinet you're playing through, as well as other factors. My Line 6 Spider practice amp sounds just as good, direct records, and won't wake up mom and dad

This sounds like old people having sex. You need to learn to play your instrument, not your amp. That means two things. One, turn down your highs and lows. More mids is better for your tone. Also turn your gain down. You should keep it around 7. Your sound will be SO much more clear. Secondly, pick harder.

This is a 100w monster and you need to let it breathe. if youre a terrible player or your guitar sounds bad, it will let you know. also, better to shove a mic up to the cloth instead of relying on a cheesy cam mic to record guitar tones of all things..

Practise the songs with a metranome and try overdriving the amp with a pedal (low gain high volume). Use a low gain on the amp too. Also pay no attention to the abuse people are giving you on this youtube video, People like to be dicks on youtube cause they know they are safe behind their computer.

Sorry man. But that was brutal. Your settings are too extreme. especially if your using modern. The tone is cutting your head off. Also you need to replace the tubes.

I am a long time boogie owner and have this amp, and replaced all the tubes the boogie tubes are just Chinese junk.

Just some advice here, i'm self taught like you. Anyway, the presence is actually sort of a boost.. If you turn that all the way up with your settings the way they are, you're going to have a shrilly sharp overly bright.. just bad tone. Anyway, that's a monster head, so of course you would have to turn it down to .5 on the master, but then you have about as much tone as a clock radio speaker compared to how it would sound turned up. Turn it up to like 3 then mess with the knobs to your liking :)

@Gimmehalfable Everyone has a preference for sound settings on amps, but here's some advice for the knobs if you want: Bass, don't go too much over 1 o clock because it will sound too harsh if you do. Mid, again with the harshness, don't take it much past 11 o clock. Also don't go too low because you might lose the balls of the sound. Treb, that all depends on how bright you want your sound to be. Start at 12 o clock and roll on or off to your liking. After all this, THEN mess with presence..

Nice video. Hey you ever tried lowering the gain, presence, and treble. Your preamp tubes are gonna go mircophonic at those setting. Lots of squealing. Plus the less gain the more your tone controls will work. Any ways I own two of these amps and used to play one almost exactly like that but with less mid. I spent a lot of money on preamp tubes. Keep jamming man and don't listen to these haters on here.
