  • i also do not have a good opinion of these exploitations of children aka child beauty pageants. go to google and do a search with the following 4 words: keri britney cambell botox. too much emphasis these days on ones physical beauty and it seems none is on the inner natural beauty. little girls are being pushed to look and act like a mature woman. they have the rest of their life to be that but only a limited time to be a child. the pageant kgirls look like a they are in a ho training course.

  • You r disgusting!!!! I am in child beauty pageants and I love them!!!! And yes I have watched the show and I am fine with the routines they do!!!! They r beautiful little girl who love pageants!!!!!!!! One girls is buying a cow with her prize money!!! Do u think that is wrong!!!! I love pageants and if you have a problem with it then contact the president!!!!! I'm sure he would like you talking about girls and what they love when he has two sweet girls of his own!!!

  • @AmericanGirl98100 I think it's wrong to emphasize makeup and ludicrous prizes over schooling and intelligence -- something you're clearing lacking.

  • @AmericanGirl98100 are you fine with the idea that there may be at least one pedophile among the spectators who gets sexual satisfaction from watching your and may snap pictures so he can get off later on too? Wow,good for you!

  • i'm sorry, but your facts are wrong. i know most little girls like pageants, but if they don't i believe that they shouldn't be in them. but most little girls do. and this is not sexualizing kids, sure pedophiles can see this but they are everywhere, dont get me wrong, i do not encourage pedophiles i feel those ppl are sick, but we can help that they are they need to be locked up. and the whole family appropricate thing makes no sense

  • Making girls dance like strippers, IS sexualizing them -- I don't know what dictionary you've read.

"i know most little girls like pageants, but if they don't i believe that they shouldn't be in them."

What the hell does that mean, that you think they should be forced?

  • i said that if they don't like them they shouldn't be in them. they don't dance like strippers.

  • Ok, my bad I misread your first statement.

    "they don't dance like strippers."

They sure do, in the first few seconds of the FIRST EPISODE. Get glasses.

  • suggestive dance moves???

    seriously...

  • Um yeah, have you actually SEEN the show?

The only places I see moves like that are in 18+ clubs and Vegas shows.

  • yes i have. and watched every episode

    theres nothing wrong about it.

but i'm definitley not going to waste anymore of my time argueing with someone who doesn't really knw a thing about pageants

  • And what prey tell are they about, besides objectifying the contestants (in this case, before some of them can even spell pageant)?

  • I betcha pedophiles wait all year for the new season of toddlers and tiaras. Its like free kiddy porn to them and unfortunately its legal. Just let little girls be little girls, not overly sexed up dolls

  • If that were the case, I'd have to say it's pretty ironic that we're "hunting" them down while it's PARTLY our fault for baiting them through these pretentious pageants with our own offspring.

  • There are beaches, plagrounds, and children's ads for pedophiles to feast upon. The isue isn't the pagents or the show. The issue you seem to be concerned with is the sexualization of little children. That happens everywhere. These bathing suits and outfits are custom made, but just look at the clothes being mass produced. Look at children's toys and television. I don't think pagents are precious or a particularly good thing, but I do think that it's unfair to single them out. It's cultural.

  • Parents do have a tendency to pressure their children to do things- parents forget to listen to their children-what their children want. Most of the time Pressuring into Forcing their children . walking the fine line.

What parents also do is manipulate choices and preference. Most of my life I was manipulated into thinking that I shld. become a nurse. I moved out went to school to be a nurse and it dawned upon me that I don't want this. I hope other girls would also find themselves.

  • 1:08 girl looks like a doll! Oh that was air brush? How about if ... we have pageants where little girls are in ball gowns and just have a Q&A interview to judge their composure & intelligence? Instead of showing how curvaceous they look in a swim suit. My mom always had me watch the interview sections of Beauty pageants ... I find them more interesting than the parts where girls trip trying to look seductive as they walk in skimpy evening gowns and swimsuits.

  • Some of the girls on the show go natural. Plus, some of the children really like doing these. I haven't seen any more pressure here than I've seen from parents on the football/soccer/baseball field with my son. Heck, I may have even been the one doing it. I think when kids are really young they are pressured into doing organized activities. If it were up to them they'd wander around the neighborhood with their friends finding their own things to do. Pags aren't worse than other org activities.

  • How often do you see football/soccer/baseball players EXPECTED to wear practically nothing and just look pretty?

  • I was talking about the pressure aspect. These girls' folks could put them in one pieces. Besides, when was the last time a beauty pagent contestant came home with a neck injury, tendonitis, or unable to walk? The risks and dangers are different, but my analogy was valid. Kids are under pressure whenever they compete. This is just something different. It's really not fair to judge the mothers simply because you may not get it or understand. Heck! I don't get it or understand.

  • also, the kids do NOT wear practically nnothing, and pedhophiles ould be there too! pedophiles like any place little kids are...

  • They seem to wear practically nothing on this show.

  • like what? the worst thing i see is the swimsuits, but most kids wear that same stuff to the pool...

  • Babies in swimsuits and make up. If you do not think this is wrong you are totally off your rocker. This whole thing disgusts me on so many levels. Pageants are gross to begin with and you unbalanced parents throw your babies into the mix, well to me you are certifiable. I am not on a bandwagon. The first time I saw this, long ago I was taken back and offended. Weird to say for me because I am not easily offended. My stomach hurts. Good job America, way to show how superficial and petty you are.

  • no you are just dumb. have fun judging something you know nothing about...

they dont do suggestive dance moves. why are you offened because people like me and my friends do pageants while people like you sit there and judge us. so why are you offened and not me? and most little girls aren't forced. some are and that is wrong, but most arent

  • No I'm not dumb, and I've actually done my homework on this -- so grow up and don't call me names just because I reach a different conclusion, just by actually LOOKING at the show.

And frankly, I'd love to know what you call "suggestive" if you don't think that strutting around in bikini-esque outfits is suggestive.

On second thought, nevermind -- with an attitude like yours, you're not welcome on my channel anymore.

  • great points made here

JeepersMedia also critiques sexualized inappropriate toys {like those awful Bratz dolls} [ew]

I've worked in Ms Wheelchair pageants and there are ways to make these pageants more humane and age appropriate without swimsuit parades and more hairspray and makeup than an 80s music video.

Ms Wheelchair focuses on life accomplishment, having a platform, and ability to represent comfortibly on stage. It is more like an ambassader role than a living fashion doll.

  • btw who is your sister?? I am addicted to the show toddlers and tiras and i was wondering what your sisters name is. i completly agree with you and i am in pageants at the age of 13

  • You're going to have to e-mail her, applejacks. I blocked pageantsister from this page, because of how abusive she was getting.

  • u sound so immature

    pageantsisterX14

  • LMFAO 14 is not mature. I feel sorry for kids like you, who think they know everything. So sad ....

  • Do you even know what obnoxious MEANS? Oh wait, I forgot, you want to go through life as a mean-spirited, stupid bitch.

  • I called you a snot, because you're obnoxious, shallow, and have a much bigger ego than you deserve to. I don't go around criticizing people's appearances, partly because they NEVER matter. Period.

(besides why should I believe that you ever look nice at all -- even if I saw a picture of you, you make it clear that your inner beauty looks like a dead rat)

  • Yeah, you really sound like an example of a mature and informed person.

(BTW I never said that the pageants should be criminalized, you snot)

  • dont call me snot cuz they like doing it and most of the pageants dont do swim suits and stuff and im totaly normal so u need to get a life i love watching them so ya

  • Yeah sure, you REALLY sound like a normal person.

  • i am your just a GEEK ya i said that and its kinda like your bullying them because your talking about them in mean ways and your bullying me because im not an adult so u should about wat u say

  • Normal people don't masquerade as adults, nor do they throw schoolyard insults at people who disagree with them.

Nor do normal people think it's alright to force kids to be fashion dolls before they're even out of diapers.

  • thats stupid did u ever sit down and watch a full episode of one of these there cute and there r natural pagents there great i dont agree

  • Yes I did, and I still don't think that a five year-old being pressured to look gorgeous and sexy 24/7 is cute or harmless. Neither do most normal people.

  • I agree that most beauty pageants are exploiting. They are also shallow, and teach little girls to become obsessed with their physical appearances. Most of the parents are horrible and are living in a fantasy world, living their own dreams vicariously through their children.

  • My daughter does Natural pageants. We don't participate in pageants who require tan, nails, teeth, hair, & makeup. She does not model or strutt on stage and we NEVER do swimsuits! Natural pageants are about personality. She does a fish face and jumps and just goofs off lol. But when she does win, she gets a bag of toys, trophys, crown, sash, and sometimes scholarships and savings bonds! So i think there is a good an bad side to it all. But our personal choice is to stick with Natural pageants!

  • Excellent points. :)

  • Just to let everyone know, Not all pageants are like this. There are 3 types of pageants Natural (just off the rack outfits and your child) / Glitz (fake tan, nails, make up, hair, teeth, retouched pics, and expensive heavy dresses) and Semi glitz which is a mix of both (may allow hair and makeup but not tans, nails, teeth etc)

  • I do pageant and dont think there bad there fun and you are the one with the sick mind

  • That's a matter of opinion, dear, but the exploitation and needless drilling that many "mothers" put their daughters through is clear enough to anyone who watches for any amount of time. I don't like to pull the age card, but honestly, maybe you need to see what some people are willing to do to get their rocks off, I've heard of things that will chill your soul.

  • Child beauty pageants are disturbing. I always laugh when people say pageants are good & if a kid wants to do them they should be allowed to. There's nothing good about dressing little girls like hookers.

  • legalized child pimping. lol that is too good. i hate this show. i totally agree with everything you said. i was watching it (im a 13 yr old girl) thinking "i don't even wear that much makeup!" i've never even gone tanning before and they're making these little 3 yr olds go tanning so they can be little hotties in their swinsuits. what the heck????? its so awful i hate these moms

  • You do realize that the 'lickable ad' is fake, right? Tho...the parents who allowed their daughters to pose like that should be hung up by their ankles and gutted...

    :)

  • I bloody well HOPE it's fake! lol

  • I miss your old sign off :(

  • Yeah, what was wrong with "Enough Said"

  • I was getting told that it sounded too smug/like I was closing off feedback, so I'm trying some new ones to see what works.
