Mine are extremely unstable. I don't know why. I have it set up exactly the same, but the pieces that touch the ground always turn sideways on me. It also tips to one side because I have both cymbals on one side. Any tips?

How long did it take your ion's to arrive after you ordered them?

@spaulding90 I pre-ordered them a month before they were out. They were supposed to arrive on the Rock Band 2 release day, but they were late because of FedEx and Ion's bad handling of the shipping. I think it should take about a week or less now for the drums to get to you if you order by mail.

@wiifan013 the ions are much higher quality. mine are still going good after 2 years. they are also simple to take apart if you are very gentle with them and replace the piezos (the little thing that detects the hit)

@UgotDead123 you technically can, but its not the best electronic drum kit around. it will do if you want to record some demo material, but for $350 it really cant compare to a $1500 electronic kit. We did try using it as a real kit for recording a couple of demo songs for a friend's album and we used Rock Band 2's drum sound maker as the 'brain' and it worked out fairly ok. So basically it will do if you have nothing else.

@aPeaceofPeace sorry about the late reply. I hope you got an answer already. You can order it with the cymbals or just the pads. You can plug in any electronic cymbal or pad into the little module that connects to your 360 or PS3. I bought a new high hat cymbal from Pintech, a high end electronic drum company and it works just great. As long as your drum or cymbal has the 1/4" hole in it for plugging in, it will work.

yeah, you get scuff marks if you use the sticks that come free with them. However any other stick is completely fine. Also you shouldnt really be stroking you pads anyway so the marking of the pads really isnt an issue.

A good idea instead of buying a drum chair is if you have another chair such as a desk or office chair that adjusts height, doesn't have arm rests, and doesn't move around much. luckily I had one when i got mine :)

Editing in QuickTime should be a breeze :)

Editing in QT was very simple,and if the file had stayed in QT format there would have been no problems. The problem came after editing when trying to encode the files into any other format. The audio would go massively out of sync, by up to 5 minutes. Try this: record 5 short quicktime videos on a camera, cut the lengths of each video down slightly and cut them all together. Then encode the .mov file you've just created into an AVI or FLV. The video and audio will fuck up. Almost guaranteed.
