Yes, I agree that he was a very talented performer and wish he had been able to live a longer life.Steve Ihnat was an excellent and versatile actor. I always enjoyed any show in which he performed. Thank you for posting this tribute.
Steve Ihnat guest starred in so many of my favorite televion shows as I was growing up. My favorite roll was in "The Outer Limits" as Lieutenant Minns. In addition to his many great television performances, he was very memorable in films, such as "In Like Flint" and "The Chase" . I've always wondered why in "The Chase" he was not given a speaking part , when his roll as Archie was such an important character. Thankyou CDeanWatcher for this outstanding tribute to Steve Ihnat !
I think Steve would be touched that you have such devotion for him...an amazing actor who died way too young.
BTW, Richard Kiley is NOT the co-star of Marcus Welby, M.D....that would be James Brolin, who played Dr. Steven Kiley...I think that's where you got confused.
Steve Ihnat was such an instinctually fine actor and the most wonderful husband I could ever ask for, he was mine. Thank you for this tribute I only wish I had film to donate to this creative and thoughtful film. I have a still from "Do Not Throw Cushions Into the Ring if you would like it. The choice of music was excellent. Thank you again for remembering. I miss him so and he will always be in my heart..
Steve Ihnat was my Uncle. He died when I was 7 yrs. old. I loved him so much. He always spoiled me when we got to see each other. I miss him. Thanks so much for this tribute. ox
Wow, this is so great...Steve Ihnat was my Uncle. He died when I was around 7 yrs. old. This tribute made me cry. He always spoiled me when I got to see him. Thanks so much, again oxox
This is interesting: This video really illustrates for me how prolific an actor Steve was. Basically, I remember him being extraordinarily diverse in all the parts that he played, and that's really remarkable because I really haven't seen but a handful of his performances since that time. Yet, I remember. The only other actors that come to mind that achieved that are guys like Bill Windom, Charles Aidman, Albert Salmi, Jack Warden, Warren Oates and Anton Diffring Fahrenheit 451/Where Eagles Dare
Steve's work would be even more impressive if his missing work were available... quite a few obscure shows that I wish someone would release on DVD! But at least we've got what we've got... His Mannix Endgame and MI Mind of Stefan Miklos are classics. And of course The Outer Limits The Inheritors.
Wow! I never knew about Police Story! That would have been quite a show: no doubt it would have reshaped his entire career and the careers of others. DeForest Kelley might have been remembered more for this one.

As you can tell from my user name I loved his guest staring role on Star Trek. He was so good he upstaged Shatner! Rest In Peace.

Omigod. I thought he'd died from overexposure. For a time in the sixties you couldn't flip the channels without seeing him.
He was a fine actor. I'll miss him.
