As long as 12 year olds keep asking their parents to buy them tickets to see justin bieber in concert, the music industry will continue to sell crappy music based off of good looks and fake smiles. Because top forty music is more of an "as seen on tv product" than an artistic expression.

@piperpilot26 uhhgg I know what you mean. the whole thing would need to be a giant music reform. teaching kids good music from really young ages, teaching kids instruments when they are little, teaching that feeling we get when we hear something "real" like this. It all starts with the next generation i think. if we dis-encourage autotune, and other fake music, it could give the industry a boost. someone needs to open a highly funded label that supports real muscians, someone who thinks like us

In a whole, I believe the biggest part in changing the way people look at music is by giving them a basis of comparison and teaching them to keep an open mind when it comes to music and art. If this was to happen, we would be seeing artists like this in the spotlight. being a musician myself, I can only wish for something like this to happen. I'm glad to see there are people like you in the world that know and appreciate good music, we should start our own record label lol!

@piperpilot26 I completely agree, its all about getting people to understand that fake smiles, good looks, and catchy choruses are not the most creative music, and def. don't require the super amount of talent that people like esna here have. Actually, I plan to study both music and business, so I can start my own label someday! What I hate is that talented artists on places like youtube have to turn to superficial poprock to get signed and make enough money.

@piperpilot26 i think its sad that people have to compare different artists doing different things. esna is amazing what she does, and miley cyrus, though i dislike her music, is amazing at what she does. each artist has their own hold on what they do with their life and their music and it is not our place to criticize them for it. its just or place to enjoy it and if we dont then just let it go. how would u feel if u made music, then millions of people said they didnt like it? think about it..

Miley Cyrus, along with pretty much every other pop star past or present, does not make music soley for themselves. when they sign a record deal, they are then responsible for creating a product that sells, quality or talent don't really play a huge role in the equation, just take a look at rebecca Black.
