On October 9th we will all watch "Imagine" in honor of the greatest singer ever's birthday. Let's give him the best birthday present ever: the highest viewed video on YouTube!! Let's give him what he deserves and what Justin Bieber does not deserve to have!
Copy and paste to all John lennon/beatles videos and all music videos let's get this noticed quickly
@JohnLennoninmyGuitar I agree. The only reason why I asked is because Epiphone which is a company owned by Gibson makes a J-200 also .It is a cheaper made version that looks just about the same except of course you can tell by the headstock which is not visible in this video. George Harrison Played a 1968 Gibson J-200 on the recording of Here Comes the sun which is an icredible acoustic. A J-200 cost about 4 grand today .
@meglaw69 Yeah, unless we see a headstock, we can never know =P. Gibsons dont sound.. Cheap... like their Epiphone brothers, and Epiphones are much much more cheaper. But 4 grand... Geez thats waayy too much
@JohnLennoninmyGuitar If you're just taking a quick glance (and you can't see the headstock), you can also tell by the pickguard. The Epiphone pickguards look, frankly, a little chintzy (but I'm not dismissing Epiphones just because the pickguards are ugly -- the pickguard of my Martin D41 is an embarrassment, and that guitar is more expensive than this one). The difference is obvious when you see them side by side.
@JohnLennoninmyGuitar You should see the D41 pickguard close up. It's one of those tortoise-shell looking guards, but it's actually a digital photo of a tortoise-shell guard. You can see the pixels in it! On a high-end guitar, that's unforgivable.
@privettricker Absolutely unforgivable! And you say its more expensive than the J-200? That is embarrasing, and such a waste of money and good timber... Shame on you Martin guitars! Shame!
first of all: you have done it well! i couldn´t keep up with george harrison´s speed as you can ;)
just one question:
do you pick the strings individual at the text passages "...it´s been a long cold only winter..." and "it´s seems like years since it´s been here..." or do you strum in between? i ask because i am not sure if george harrison played it actually...
i would aprreciate it if you could answer my question - thanks :)
@mfische1 It's not really strumming in between, it's more strumming the whole passage. I do an upstroke on the melody line and then a downstroke on the root for each of those. So it's a strum that starts with an upstroke (while hitting the individual notes for the melody) and then a downstroke to get the root notes. I hope that makes sense.
you do a great job for us - i've learned quite a bit from you - thx - do you know any John Hiatt stuff - specifically - Trudy & Dave, Drive South, Stood Up, etc. etc.
okay? you are playing a song of the beatles with a t-shirt from the rolling stones

Now that I realize that he's playing most of the melody notes on an UPstroke, it makes this so much easier to play!
Man, I should be paying your for this stuff. We all should! Better than pancakes!
snitpicker 10 months ago
Yeah, you may have nicer guitars than me, but you're a way better player than I am. So there.
Um. Wait a sec...
You're helping me get better, though. You're a gold mine for guitarists, man. Thanks for doing this.
