I miss the feeling as a little kid being excited for Santa Claus to come during the night. Not being able to sleep because of the anticipation. Leaving cookies and milk along with a letter thanking him for the gifts.

Society changes a kid so young nowadays and take such a beautiful gift away from a child. I know kids as young as 3 that already speak of Santa not being real, and it breaks my heart. Let kids have that imagination and spirit. That is what Christmas is about.

The song however is speaking of the spirit of Christmas and having that inner youth of believing in Santa. I couldn't agree more... my youngest daughter is now 13 and still believes... my oldest was 13 when she stopped beliving and it crushed me... my middle one was told in 6th grade by her teacher that Santa wasn't real and I was crushed once again, I asked her what she belived and to keep the faith...
